I was reading the unofficial guide to Gossip Girl (which I’ll be giving away this Friday), and it mentioned Josh Schwartz’s desire to create believable and interesting story lines for the grown-ups as well as the kids. Maybe that multi-age drama is what lured me in at my not-so-tender age.

When I was about 10, I decided I was too old to watch cartoons, so I quit all animation.

So, I am pretty sure when I was a teen, I decided I was somehow “above” teen dramas. I was more of a Twin Peaks gal than a 90210 gal.

Other than a brief flirtation with the Animaniacs and Pinky & the Brain in college, I’ve been true to my anti-cartoon proclamation. But I love me some teen dramas. Give me the new One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl, and reruns of The O.C.!

For me personally, I use the shows as escapism from my own life and the stories themselves keep me sucked in and addicted. Why do you think you like them now, as opposed to when you were a teen?
