Hi again, do we have any knowledge whether the show will be aired over here in Australia?

Until then I'll settle with reading your posts!

I agree about Roswell as well - I consider it a Teen Sci-Fi show along with Buffy, Smallville & Supernatural...

But I love it all the same lol.

Keep up the good work!

Wow, you got the first three episodes?! Lucky. Lol. I think I'm going to like this show too. This kind of family drama seems right up my alley, although I do not need another show to watch :) ... Thanks for the summary.

O.K.
That's fine....we just look at it differently.....to me, Roswell was the ultimate "teen alienation" show! (pun intended)
Roswell was the first show I really got into and it amazes me how many people still love and miss the show.
This new show Life UneXpected or Unexpected looks like a keeper to me...at least I hope so anyway....I tire of the usual that passes for entertainment nowadays....so I look forward to this with high hopes.

Oh yeah, YMMV= Your Mileage May Vary

JOEY: If it's not covered on this site, then I don't consider it a teen drama. I see Roswell as a sci-fi drama, one that should be grouped with Smallville, Supernatural, etc. There's tons of shows that many people classify as teen dramas (and Wikipedia does in fact list a gazillion) but I think only the six shows that are covered here are true teen dramas. At least by my definition. People are free to have their own! (By the way, you lost me on YMMV...)

Cooper: Well, for episodes 2 and 3, they do keep it up. I know Tigelaar is already writing the season finale and I can only hope things are just as good at that point, too. I agree with your point about Shiri. I guess that will be an issue they explore: who is the real Cate, who is the woman she wants to be? And which man brings that out in her?

teendramawhore, thank you very much!
I don't really care about the cliches (all the series are more or less the same, more when teens and families are involved. I guess up to this point we've seen everything). Just wanted to know if they were enjoyable, funny and in the line of the first one.
I had heard very good things about LU and once I watched it I found they were all true. When they said "absolutely charming", it was really "absolutely charming". So I thought "will they be able to keep on like this?"

As for the couples, I liked both men and both couples, and I have to give credit to Shiri Appleby because she was really one woman with Kerr and another woman with the other guy, and made it completely believable.

Oh really?
You don't consider Roswell a "teen drama"? Well, what would classify it as?
I thought it very much was a teen drama with a little sci-fi thrown in.....at least it was the first season. IMHO of course. YMMV. : )
Thank you for the nice welcome.

Cooper: I understand your concern about the future episodes being as good as the first. As I said above, there are cliches. I'd be lying if I said the second and third episodes weren't predictable. But they were well done and it makes me look forward to see how they further twist stories we may think are familiar and how they create their own. I'm obviously a Kerr fan from Dawson's Creek and his acting style here felt very similar. I did like his coupling with Shiri but she and Kristoffer have chemistry as well. We definitely have two ships brewing...

Jason: I kind of wonder if this is The CW taking a chance, looking at a different type of show to see if this is what audiences want. We all know how much they're struggling and maybe they're finally realizing that a "destination for young women" doesn't mean shows can only have glitz and glam or sci-fi and violence. A lot of people just want a good ol' heartwarming family story.

Jeff: I appreciate your enthusiasm and respect your POV but though this show has a teen character and explores a few teen issues (and I do love me some Rafi Gavron), I consider it to be a family drama first and foremost. As such, the coverage here will be limited. Sorry.

NYJOEY: Nice to see you here! I know Shiri is more well known for Roswell but that wasn't the point. This is a site about teen dramas so if an actor/actress is mentioned, I point out the teen drama connection (assuming there is one). I don't consider Roswell a teen drama and Shiri does have a teen drama connection, which is why Roswell wasn't mentioned and the BH90210 role was.
