TVGuide.com’s Top Moments of the Week

10 01 2009

RELEVANT PARTS

As one life ends, another begins. Except on TV, where no one ever really dies and the number of surprise babies corresponds directly with the stunted creativity of a show’s writing staff. (Looking at you, 90210.) what we’re saying is this week’s Top Moments include plenty of doom — but also glimmers of hope.

12. Harshest Embrace: “I’m Chuck Bass!” yells the Gossip Girl bad boy, as he thinks about jumping from a ledge. “And no one cares.” No one, that is, except Blair, who coaxes him into her arms. But what other Bass have they held? Chuck’s uncle (who we childishly call Jack Ass, because it rhymes with “Bass,”) later reminds Blair that Chuck must never learn what happened between them. X-O X-Eww! Watch full episodes of Gossip Girl on our Online Video Guide.

11. Littlest Scandal: Oh snap — One Tree Hill returns from winter break to shockingly reveal that Peyton and Luke are… having a baby! And that they’re… totally cool with it. Oh. Well good for them, then. Moving right along.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!
I really liked Adam Gregory as 90210‘s Ty and feel that he was very underused. Do you know if he will come back? — Erik
MICKEY:
Ty will be back! In what capacity? Let’s just say this: My pregnant friend and her husband received T-shirts as Hanukkah presents. Hers says “knocked up”; his, “baby daddy.” Guess what Ty’s would say? (It’s more complicated than you think.)

I’ve been hearing that this is the last season of One Tree Hill. True? — Yassmina
MATT:
That’s certainly not the vibe I’m getting whenever I check in with my sources at the CW and Warner Bros. Far from it, actually.

Rob Estes on Tori Spelling

8 01 2009

“You know, it was hard at first. You come off of something so iconical like 90210, that was a big task for us. But with Tori Spelling, they’ve been negotiating since the first shows started airing. And she’ll be on at some point, I’m sure. But hopefully, they’ll throw us a curve ball, and she’ll be driving a cab or something.”

Tuesday Night Reaction

7 01 2009

90210

  • Naomi’s interactions with Sean/Sean’s interactions with Naomi are so creepy–regardless of whether he’s her brother.
  • Again convinced Dixon and Silver are one of the best things about the show.
  • The Pictionary scene was pretty cute.
  • Still weird hearing “Ms. Taylor” and “Miss Walsh.”
  • Interesting they chose to reverse Dixon and Annie’s rooms from what Brandon and Brenda had in the original.
  • Liked the incorporation of some realism with Tabitha’s comment about the market.
  • Couldn’t the part about why Sean needs money be true?  Again, regardless of whether he’s who he says he is.
  • Brenda said she “burned bridges.”  What’s happened to her relationships with everyone else?
  • Loved Kelly telling her off, but hated her hair!
  • How/why does Brenda have such a nice house?!
  • I will never accept a new Peach pit.
  • Enough with the Dr. Pepper references.
  • Brenda’s semi-apology at the rehab center was kind of nice.
  • So was Sean really beat up and by who?
  • Strange that they’re going with a Brenda can’t have kids storyline when Kelly had the same problem.  At least they sort of mentioned it.
  • Brenda and Kelly patched things up way too quickly.
  • Since when do they give medical results in a waiting room?!
  • So did Adrianna sleep with Navid or no?
  • If Christina isn’t interested in Dixon, why kiss him?  (Even on the cheek?)
  • That’s a lot of pressure to be asked to sing like that!  I was very impressed with Tristan Wild’s voice.
  • Where was Navid?
  • Who knew $200,000 would be such a huge deal to Beverly Hills people?
