ONE TREE HILL
EPISODE 7.08: (I Just) Died in Your Arms
- Previously on: Renee admits she was lying, Dan says 14 months ago his heart problems were solved, Dan knew Renee was lying because they were both cons, Brooke tells Julian she was going to propose, Clay tells Quinn to go home to David, Clay tells ghost Sara he doesn’t want to love her but she says it’s time to let go and suggests being with Quinn
- Episode title is a reference to the song “Dying in Your Arms Tonight” by Chicago.
- This is the first sweeps period episode of OTH.
- Dan is in the hospital. In Mexico.
- Looks like a dream.
- He’s apparently getting his heart transplant.
- Definitely a dream.
- Dan is saying “I’m still here” over and over again.
- He wakes up sweating.
- His scar is clearly visible.
- Rachel wakes up, too.
- Seems like they have a nice bed. Probably a nice house, too.
- Nathan is going on a camping trip with Jamie and is upset that Julian is coming, too.
- Julian doesn’t want to go because he doesn’t feel close with guys in general.
- He says he’s always been friends with girls and Brooke brings up Alex, so that shuts him up.
- Clay is dreaming about Sara again.
- She’s coming out of the pool, all wet and in slow-mo.
- This is really cheesy in a really pathetic way after last week’s incredibly moving story with her (both the dead her and the alive her).
- Reference to Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
- I expected ghost Sarah to be gone. I thought that was the whole point.
- Apparently Clay isn’t going camping so he can “spend time with his dead wife.”
- Sara says it’s not healthy. Yeaaaaah.
- Skills and Mouth are going on the trip, too.
- Skills said he expected a trip to Vegas using Nate’s fame. He’s freaked out about camping.
- Chuck is going on the trip, too. And he seems as enthusiastic ever.
- Julian has a shit ton of camping equipment, in contrast to Nathan wanting to travel light.
- Q1: Who the hell is Julian?–Chuck
- Haley and Brooke are having girls night…with Quinn. Great.
- Is this going to be a worse knockoff of the season 2 sleepover?
- Quinn made brownies using Taylor’s brownies.
- They are SPECIAL brownies but Haley doesn’t know that.
- Can’t decide if it’s mean or funny.
- All the guys are setting up at the camp site.
- LOL Skills gave Jamie and Chuck merit badges so they’ll do stuff for him.
- Julian’s having trouble setting up his fancy Japanese tent.
- It’s hard to believe that Nate and Julian haven’t bonded over the last 14 months. Aren’t Haley and Brooke supposed to be BFF?
- Quinn admits to Haley that the brownies have drugs in them.
- Haley’s pissed off at first, while Brooke and Quinn think it’s hilar and “perfectly acceptable.”
- Q2: Who knew tutor girl was actually stoner girl?–Brooke
- Haley says she’ll get Quinn back for this and she’s not feeling the effect.
- Cut to Haley DEFINITELY feeling the effects. Brooke is, too.
- I know it’s supposed to be funny but, um, it’s not.
- I guess it’s just disappointing–and therefore feels insulting–after last week.
- I know every episode can’t be that amazing but, given that, already this feels even worse than a let down.
- Clay and Sara are in the pool still and again talking about themselves.
- Sara brings up Quinn and Clay says again that nothing’s going on.
- Rachel tells Dan that the Renee episode was the higest ever.
- Q3: We need something good for sweeps and then Dr. Phil can suck it.–Rachel
- Dan sarcastically says they should have Nathan on the show.
- Rachel asks if he’s upset that Nate never called to say thank you.
- Dan says he knew he wouldn’t but he’s clear he’s upset.
- Julian and Mouth are talking about Alex.
- Julian says Alex isn’t so bad.
- And Mouth says he better not break Brooke’s heart because he’s seen that happen already.
- Julian says he won’t. We’ll see about that, Julian!
- (I trust him but I don’t at the same time. We know people can gain and lose feelings very quickly.)
- Chuck tells Skills that he can’t marry Miss Lauren because he doesn’t make enough money. Ouch.
- Jamie asks Nathan if they can start talking to Grandpa Dan again.
- Dan is on his show, seemingly hypnotizing an audience member, but then he starts envisioning blood coming from the guy (like what they did with Keith years back).
- Dan passes out.
- Rachel says “we should’ve saved that for sweeps” and let’s others rush to take care of him. Typical Rachel.
- Gossip Girl promo
- 90210 promo
- Chuck is doing a zipline.
- I used to be terrified of those but love it after I finally did it.
- Jamie is scared, too.
- Nathan says this used to be his favorite part of camping.
- Julian says he doesn’t want to stay up there anymore–it’s too high and he’s uncomfortable.
- Jamie says he’ll go with Julian.
- Nathan is clearly hurt.
- Julian and Jamie thank each other for being each other’s way out LOL
- Dan is resting in his dressing room.
- Rachel says he’s a genius–people will tune in to see if he will die.
- Dan tells Rachel about what he saw with the blood and how he’s worried about his heart.
- She tells him he’s crazy and his heart is fine.
- Flashback to Dan in a shitty hospital (Mexico?) and Rachel saying he needs to get well because the publisher loves the first 3 chapters of his book.
- Dan calls her out on wanting to get rich and she doesn’t quite deny it.
- She tells him to rest up because “tomorrow you will be a new man.”
- So the dream wasn’t too off-base. Dan did get his heart transplant in Mexico. Probably because he was too poor at the time to afford it in the States?
- Clay is asking Sara if she felt pain when she died.
- She says she didn’t and Clay says he did and has every day since.
- Q4: Life isn’t fair, Clay. But you being miserable isn’t going to change that.–Sara
- Cut to the girls all being high, though Quinn doesn’t seem like she is at all.
- Q5: What’s going on with you and the hottie?–Brooke to Quinn
- Quinn says nothing’s going on and “it’s better that way.”
- Quinn says she has a psychic LOL
- And they call her for a house call.
- Julian is trying to make a fire with rocks.
- Meanwhile, Nathan lights it instantaneously with lighter fluid.
- Q6: Alright, Spielberg. Why don’t you produce us some marshmallows?–Nathan
- Skills is telling everyone a “scary story” but Chuck claims it’s not scary.
- Julian says he’ll tell a truly scary story.
- LOL Chuck calls Julian “Julia”
- Julian does look kind of scary telling this.
- There’s a storm in Tree Hill and the doorbell rings.
- It’s the pyshic and Brooke worries that she’s going to be creepy.
- They open the door and Haley goes “Okay, she’s creepy.”
- Really, it’s just an old woman.
- Skills says Julian “scared the piss” out of Chuck.
- Julian says everyone’s scared of something but Jamie says his dad isn’t. Awww.
- Not true but awwww.
- Jamie apologizes to Nathan for not doing the zipline and Julian has a weird look on his face.
- Dan tells Rachel he agrees they need something for sweeps.
- He says he can tell everyone the truth: he got a heart transplant and isn’t really living on a miracle or “borrowed time.”
- Rachel tells him he can’t do that because people will desert him.
- Great quote referencing
- Nate thanks Mouth for standing by him and says he’s sorry he lost his job.
- Mouth says he doesn’t think he’ll get his job back.
- Julian says television is changing thanks to the internet. Very true.
- Haley’s question for Zelda, the psychic: Will Nathan play for the Bobcats?
- Zelda says “it’s hazy, ask again later.” Haley says she’s no better than a Magic 8 ball.
- The guys are talking favorite sports movies: Field of Dreams, Coach Carter and Cool Runnings
- Nathan makes fun of him for his pick but Julian takes it stride.
- Skills says he likes Hoosiers.
- Julian says he knows the sports coordinator for that and Skills says he doesn’t know what that is LOL
- Julian explains how the coordinator comes up with all the athletic scenes. Very meta, OTH.
- Brooke kind of feeds Zelda so it seems like Zelda is figuring stuff out about Julian and Brooke but really Brooke is just giving it to herself. And she’s too high to notice.
- Skills wants to talk about how Alex looks naked.
- Julian guesses Chase must’ve told him.
- He says what happened was a misunderstanding and Alex “is no Brooke Davis.” Aw.
- He makes a comment about being naked in film and Skills gets confused. Is he talking about Alex or Brooke?
- Nathan knows where Skills is going with this and he tries to stop him. But Julian wants to know.
- Skills reveals that “Nathan and Brooke kinda made a sex tape in high school.” And then gets up and walks away. LOL
- Mouth says “see you guys in the morning. Or maybe just one of you.”
- Cut to Clay and Sara.
- Clay says he never told Nathan he was married.
- Sara asks why and Clay says there was never a good time.
- He says people don’t know what to say after he tells them what happened so it’s easier not to talk about it.
- Sara asks who it is easier for: him or them.
- Clay says them but then admits it’s easier for both.
- Sara says it will help to tell someone–“the right someone.”
- Quinn is with Zelda, who tells her a great man in her life is struggling due to a big loss and needs her help.
- Quinn says it’s David but Zelda says it’s not David.
- Haley is making fun of Zelda, who is standing behind her.
- Zelda apparently puts a curse on the house and says they aren’t there alone.
- Quinn says she isn’t high and she’s leaving (to go see Clay?).
- Q7: “I knew that woman would bring a demon into your house.” “Hey, that’s not nice. She’s still my sister.”–Brooke and Haley
- Cue thunder striking and the lights going out.
- At least now with Quinn gone, maybe we’ll get good Brooke and Haley time?
- Haley and Brooke are playing with a ouija board in hopes of getting rid of the ghost.
- WOW! Did they just make an x-rated sex joke? Guess they forgot who their audience is!
- Julian can’t sleep and brings up what happened with Nate and Brooke while he was dating Peyton.
- Peyton reference. Kind of nice.
- Nathan says he understands it’s weird but he “lost his virginity to his sister-in-law.”
- Q8: Don’t you think that makes Thanksgiving a little awkward?–Nathan
- So they have spent holidays together then? It’s hard to believe because we never see it but I know we don’t see everything.
- Q9: My father’s new wife is my age. And she hit on me after she slept with my uncle Cooper. And don’t even get me started on my father.–Nathan
- So I guess Nathan does know Rachel and Dan are married. That’s what I thought.
- Julian makes a Breakfast Club reference and Brokeback Mountain reference. Fun, but Nathan tells him to stop.
- Mouth wonders if he should do a sports show on the internet and Skills wonders if he should be a sports coordinator.
- Jamie says he’s going to tell a scary story–about a girl named Nanny Carrie!
- Julian tells Nathan he’s a good father, which is an accomplishment given his relationship with his own dad.
- Brooke is fretting over Julian and Haley says Julian loves her enough to move mountains.
- But Brooke says she isn’t sure they’re on the same page. (Um, hasn’t he said repeatedly that they are?)
- Julian says to Nathan that he can spend his whole life with Brooke but he’s not sure he wants kids.
- Nathan points out that Jamie likes him.
- Q10: Sometimes when you have Superman father, it’s nice to hang out with Clark Kent.–Julian
- Sara tells Clay he should’ve gone on the trip, rather than being alone. And she doesn’t want him to be alone.
- Cue knocking on the door.
- It’s Quinn. Sara says to let her in.
- Quinn asks if he’s OK and he says he’s fine.
- She starts to explain why she’s asking (we know it’s because of Zelda) but then says nevermind.
- She asks if she can come in.
- Q11: When are you going to get it, Quinn? You can’t be here.–Clay
- She leaves and Clay turns around–Sara is gone. He really is alone.
- He runs out in the rain and into Quinn’s car.
- She apologizes and Quinn says she doesn’t understand what’s going on with them.
- Clay says he likes her but…”her name is Sara.”
- Q12: And I loved her. She was my wife. But, um, she died and I’ve never told anyone up until now.–Clay
- Isn’t that a lie? Didn’t he say he used to talk about it but then he stopped because it was too hard?
- Gossip Girl promo
- Rain has stopped and now Clay and Quinn are on the beach. He’s telling her how Sara died.
- Clay says he threw himself into his work but the pain followed and caught up to him. His life “went off the rails” and he was sent to Tree Hill.
- He says this is why she told him to go back to David–he knows what it’s like to lose the best thing in your life.
- Quinn ignores that and apologizes, saying she wishes she could help him. He says she’s doing it.
- Flashback to Mexico and Dan post-operation.
- Rachel is there comforting him.
- Hmm. Seems Dan is dreaming again because there is the guy with the blood pouring out of him.
- Yep, Dan wakes up from another nightmare.
- He asks Rachel where his heart came from.
- She says it came from a boy on life support–she paid the family and the family pulled the plug.
- Dan says she bought the boy’s death. He seems appalled or, at least, disturbed.
- Q13: I’m not a murderer, Dan. That would be you.–Rachel
- Cut to Chuck screaming. Apparently something is wrong. I missed what.
- Jamie says his dad will fix it but Nate says he’s too scared.
- And, wouldn’t ya know it, Jamie volunteers.
- He travels into the woods…alone. Um, what?
- Jamie finds that a gate is making the scary noise.
- Haley and Brooke are in the house all freaked out.
- Brooke with a bat reminds me of the Psycho Derek episode.
- They determine the noise is coming from the closet.
- I bet it’s Chester.
- Haley remembers what Zelda said in her curse–it’s Latin for bunny rabbit!
- They open the door and there’s Chester.
- Q14: That Zelda’s bitch!–Brooke
- Julian tells Nathan he did a nice thing pushing Jamie to conquer his fear.
- Nathan tells him he’ll be a good dad, too, someday.
- Rachel tells Dan to come back to bed and rest.
- Dan says they need a vacation.
- She suggests the Bahamas or Hawaii.
- Q15: Tree Hill. I wanna go home.–Dan
- It’s daylight now and Quinn says she should go because it’s almost morning.
- They’re still on the beach.
- Clay tells her to stay.
- Quinn tells him to share more about Sara.
- He says she “would’ve really liked you.”
- Fade to black.
- Lame ending for a lame episode.
- Preview: Dan is in Tree Hill, Brooke thinks she’s pregnant, Millie is doing drugs, Haley is going to perform new songs, Alex is crying and Julian says he won’t help her, Alex is about to do drugs
GOSSIP GIRL
EPISODE 3.08: The Grandfather: Part II
- Previously on: Chuck buys a hotel, politics is big in Nate’s family, grandather is persuasive, Tripp is running for congress, Dan finds out Olivia is a movie star, they have sex, Serena finds out Nathan used her, Serena tells Carter she saved him from his debts, Blair says she used Serena and her clients, Casey says Serena’s job is safe–as long as she dates Patrick.
- The title is a reference to last season’s episode “The Grandfather” and both are references to The Godfather films.
- Apparently there will be an election party for Tripp tonight, as today is Election Day. (In the world of Gossip Girl. IRL, it’s tomorrow.)
- Patrick is up against Ryan Phillippe for a role in a political thriller.
- There was a good joke in there about Reese, Ryan and Jake but I missed it.
- Casey tells Serena she has to get Patrick to Tripp’s party–or she’ll lose his job.
- Dan and Olivia are in bed in her dorm room.
- Dan’s complaining about missing Jimmy Fallon–apparently Olivia was on.
- She doesn’t want him to watch for some reason.
- Some guy teases Dan in the hallway for being “bathroom boy.” Um, okay.
- Chuck is showing Nate the hotel penthouse (I think?), including the security surveillance.
- Nate is there with Tripp (and his wife) and the grandfather.
- Vanessa is filming it all for the campaign.
- The election is today. Tripp isn’t sure he’ll win, according to the polls.
- Grandfather tells Nate that Tripp’s right. The Buckleys have caused too many problems.
- He tells Nate they need a miracle. It seems like a code word for something.
- Serena comes to Olivia’s dorm room and gives her a copy of Jimmy Fallon.
- Apparently Olivia said something bad about Dan on the show so she wants to keep him from it.
- Dan comes in so they have to cover, saying Serena is happy with Patrick.
- Q1: As much as I enjoy my current girlfriend talking to my ex girlfriend about her fake boyfriend who is also my girlfriend’s ex…–Dan
- Serena runs into Blair in the hallway
- Blair says she won’t apologize for what happened. How long ago was that? They haven’t said.
- Serena says out of respect for their friendship, they should forget what happened.
- Blair says she’s busy with Chuck making the party for Tripp.
- And says Serena isn’t invited because Nate is still upset for what she did to him
- Serena tells her to “check her sources” (because we know Nate was in the wrong) and that she is going, with her boyfriend Patrick.
- Serena walks away and calls Nate but he ignores the call
- Nate and Tripp are walking by the river, and Vanessa is filming
- And someone in the river starts to drown so of course Tripp rescues the person and Vanessa catches it on film
- NY1 is covering Tripp’s rescue of the guy, who of course has a ridiculously thick NY accent
- Grandfather is trying to milk the coverage and the polls go slightly in Tripp’s favor
- Grandfather calls Tripp a hero
- Nate pulls grandfather aside and subtly asks if this was the miracle he had mentioned earlier. Grandfather avoids answering.
- Nate is definitely skeptical. Me too, Nate.
- Vanessa is thrilled that her coverage of the incident will make the news.
- Serena shows up and Nate is sooo not happy to see her
- She asks Nate to put her and Patrick on the guest list
- Nate says she nearly screwed them when she released the photo
- Serena says they are even now and Nate says they’re not friends
- Serena says that’s fine but she still wants an invite.
- Tripp comes over and more or less invites her.
- Blair is with her minions trying to plot how she can find new, real friends.
- Blair spots a girl with a nice bag and starts to kind of flirt with her.
- She invites the girl (I missed her name) to the party.
- Olivia and Dan are playing Scrabble at the van der Woodsen penthouse.
- Apparently Jenny is really sick. She sure looks it.
- Gossip Girl sends out a blast about Dan being a bathroom boy (hence the earlier guy’s comment)
- Olivia deletes it from his phone.
- Vanessa, while watching the footage, sees the guy jump in the water and swim for a bit before pretending to drown.
- So it was a set up!
- Serena goes to see Patrick, who is excited about a remake of Leaving Las Vegas. He wants to do it and Miley Cyrus is already signed on.
- Serena convinces him to forget it for now and go to the party.
- He secretly takes a swig of alcohol.
- Nate meets up with Vanessa and she tells what she saw on the film.
- Vanessa says it was a set-up and Nate says it’s ridiculous.
- But she reminds him that she has it on tape. She says she’s still handing the footage over to NY1 so she doesn’t become part of “the cover up.”
- Q2: This isn’t high school with Blair and the mean girls.–Vanessa
- Vanessa says she respects Tripp but she knows grandfather set this up.
- Nate says he’ll handle telling Tripp. Not sure he actually will.
- Vanessa apologizes and leaves.
- Nate calls NY1. Hmmm…
- Serena and Patrick are at the party. She’s clearly bored and just tolerating it all for her job.
- Blair is their with her new friend.
- Serena sees and just walks away.
- The girl knows one of the Senators and walks over to them.
- Serena goes up to Blair and Blair throws the new friendship in Serena’s face.
- Then Serena brags about Patrick and they go back and forth a little more.
- Blair walks away…and spots Patrick peeing in plant.
- Dan goes on the computer and finds a video clip of Olivia on Jimmy Fallon.
- Vanessa shows up to the party, and a woman asks V who she sold her footage to.
- V says NY1, she just met the woman and gave it to her.
- But this woman is the REAL woman! The woman Vanessa was supposed to meet.
- Vanessa spots Nate and realizes he set her up. Nate called NY1 and said Vanessa changed her mind and, at the same time, sent an impersonator to meet her.
- Dan leaves the penthouse abruptly and Olivia realizes he saw the clip.
- Serena and Blair end up together again.
- Blair says she saw Patrick drinking too much and getting “bombed.” She had him kicked out.
- Serena is pissed.
- And Blair said she had to do it, because tonight is about Chuck and Nate.
- Olivia and Jenny are watching the video clip.
- Apparently she told a story about Dan going to the bathroom and coming back with his shirt on inside out.
- Jimmy, of course, made fun of Dan (and Olivia by association).
- Olivia tells Jenny she can’t believe she said that story on national TV.
- She leaves Dan a message apologizing.
- Serena goes to see Patrick, who is passed out in his bed.
- She splashes him with water and he wakes up.
- He asks if Blair threw him out for being drunk or because he was talking to “that high-priced call girl friend of hers.”
- Serena smirks, now knowing who the girl really is.
- Vanessa confronts Nate and he defends his actions.
- V says Nate will have to deal because she’s getting even.
- Cut to the news, with the anchor saying a review of the footage shows that the rescue was a set-up.
- Apparently V quickly got them the tape after all.
- Q4: The polls have closed and Gossip Girl is calling this election dirty.–Gossip Girl
- The anchor says they don’t know who is responsible for the hoax and how this will affect the election, since most people have voted already
- Tripp goes off on grandfather for “compromising his integrity.”
- Grandfather admits that Tripp couldn’t win on his own.
- Tripp says either grandfather comes clean or he’s dropping out of the race.
- Grandfather refuses to admit he had anything to do with this.
- Tripp tells Nate to gather the press so he can announce his withdrawal.
- Q5: I know I’m an enemy of the state right now.–Vanessa
- Q6: What happened to you, Nate? The guy I used to call my friend had a moral compass.–Vanessa
- Serena goes over the (call)girl, who is talking to a senator.
- Serena insinuates that she knows what the girl does.
- The girl is less than thrilled and pulls Serena aside, asking if she’s working the party, too.
- Patrick is back at the party, too. Wearing an open shirt and boxers.
- Chuck is being interviewed about the party and his hotel.
- He spots Patrick being stopped by security and leads the journalist away.
- Serena confronts Blair again, and reveals that her friend was an escort and she’s been kicked out.
- Blair doesn’t believe her.
- Serena says she’s not trying to get back at her, but is protecting Chuck and Nate.
- Blair says SHE was protecting Chuck and Nate by getting rid of Patrick.
- Chuck comes over and Blair whines about Serena (just like a childish tattle tale, IMO)
- Chuck is less than thrilled by their behavior and says that the girl was, in fact, a callgirl and they need to stop fighting because it’s not classy.
- Blair says Serena is the one that is a hooker!
- WOAH! Did Blair just do a “if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck” gag? BH90210 originated that!
- Serena pushes Blair into the cake! That was perfect!
- The CW shows an exclusive clip of the video for “Somebody to Love” by Leighton Meester (Blair).
- Could she be more scandalously dressed?!
- Coincidentally (ironically?) she is in the back of a limo.
- 90210 promo, featuring Samantha Ronson, NERD and Pharrell.
- Empire State Building was lit up in red, white and blue. Nice touch, GG. Archive footage?
- Nate gets to the podium and says the rescue was in fact a hoax.
- Vanessa is filming this, of course.
- Nate says Tripp had nothing to do with the hoax and praises him for being a real hero.
- Nate then says he’s the one that set everything up!
- Chuck confronts Serena.
- Serena says she doesn’t get Blair’s behavior.
- Q6: Blair attacked you because she missed you. You can’t tell me after 18 years you can’t read her subtext?–Chuck
- Q7: You’re not kids anymore. You can’t say you hate each other and make up an hour later on the Met steps.-Chuck
- Q8: “Well, tell her that.” “I’m telling you. Because one day you’ll be talking about Blair Waldorf, your old best friend.”-Chuck
- Go Chuck! Someone had to say that. But I don’t think Serena and Blair will ever learn. And he needs to say it to Blair, too.
- Olivia comes over to the loft.
- She apologizes for what happened on Fallon and says she’s used to her publicist deciding what she talks about in interviews.
- Dan says he actually ran out of the penthouse earlier because he forgot their 1-month anniversary. Sweet but cheesy.
- Tripp thanks Nate for making the “sacrifice” on the stage.
- So Tripp doesn’t believe that Nate really did it? Did he?
- And Tripp wins the election! He’s shocked.
- Nate tells him he better do a great job as congressman…because “you’re the only honest man in our family.” Yep.
- Tripp vows to rebuild the family into something they can be proud of.
- Nate seems satisfied.
- Serena goes over to Blair, who is cleaning cake out of her hair.
- Serena apologizes but says Blair should’ve come to her if she had a problem with Patrick.
- Blair says she can’t believe that S doesn’t get what this is really about.
- She says for 18 years, S was always number 1. And now she’s building a life for herself with NYU, Chuck, etc.
- Serena says she has a life, too.
- Blair disagrees and says she’s drifted away from her family, from Dan and now one of her oldest friends (Nate).
- Q9: This night is finally over. And as far as I’m concerned, so are we.–Blair
- Q10: Who would’ve thought S and B’s friendship had a term limit? Sorry, girls. Party’s over.–Gossip Girl
- If Blair was just concerned about what Serena is doing with her life, she has a funny way of showing it. And I’m not sure that, currently, there’s that much to be concerned about anyway.
- Blair goes over to the (call)girl and apologizes for Serena calling her a prostitute.
- The girl says it was true and Blair is disgusted.
- The girl explains she does really go to NYU, though, and uses this gig to pay for college and couture. (Like that makes it OK.)
- Blair realizes the girl used her to get to the politicians at the party.
- Serena is dragging a drunk Patrick the car.
- Patrick wants to go out to a club and says S has to come because she gets paid for it.
- S obviously makes the connection that she is, in fact, like a call girl.
- She writes on Patrick’s shirt that she quits and send him on his way.
- Tripp’s wife goes over to grandfather and smugly admits that she is the real one who planned the hoax.
- So Nate didn’t do it! He just took the fall for it so Tripp wouldn’t have to! Aw, Nate!
- She wanted Tripp to become congressman and to get grandfather out of their lives.
- Grandfather says he’ll tell Tripp the truth but she says Tripp will never believe him.
- Such a confusing storyline! Too many twists.
- Chuck finds Blair in her bed. She’s sad and says Chuck is all she needs.
- Sadly, that’s not true. And she’ll realize that in time.
- Vanessa is watching the news broadcast online. She looks upset.
- Dan and Olivia are watching Jimmy Fallon. This seems to be a subsequent appearance, not the same one.
- Fallon apologizes to Olivia for being so hard on her and Dan, and he pulls out an anniversary cake. Cute.
- Serena is alone at the bar when Tripp comes up.
- Serena asks where his wife is and he says he doesn’t know, and this may be his last “private moment” for a while.
- Serena offers to leave then but he tells Serena to stay so he can talk about something other than politics. He knows something’s wrong and much rather hear about her problems.
- Is this headed where it seems like it’s headed?
- Preview: Blair has a surprise and this is the threesome episode. Seriously, that’s all I got out of it. It was mostly just pictures of the cast going by quickly.
Those are my thoughts. What’s yours?
i think they shouldve ended the sarah storyline last week because it was just sooo good !
I completely agree, Becky. This is taking away from that now.
ahahaha, i forgot how much i loved skills
So I don’t watch One Tree Hill EVER, my girlfriend loves it and watches it every week. I’m sitting here at the kitchen table doing some homework and I hear music from Fast Times, I look at the TV, and see a reenactment of the pool scene from Fast Times. It’s funny to me because I made my girlfriend watch Fast Times for the first time just a few days ago.
What a coincidence, C. Wizzle! That’s funny. You should seriously try watching sometime–but from the very beginning!
Aaron Tevit is on Gossip Girl tonight Woop Woop!!!
Olivia is hiding something, love it .
Aaron(Tripp) is sooooooooooooo HOT!!!!
Looks like Nate is going to do something evil. I hope it is really nasty. I like this Nate.
I am so over S and B fighting
OMG, that drowning was so planned by Nate or granddad.
I’m with ya on S and B, and Tripp is quite cute…but I don’t like nasty Nate.
So it was Granddad, I hoped it was Nate.
Vanessa, the new Volemort in B’s eyes.
Blair’s new friend is off of One Live To Live. I love Her.
OMG, Shirtless Patrick. I can die now.
Come on Nate, do something evil. You know you want to.
From OLTL, really? Amanda Setton, who played Blair’s friend Penelope last season, is now on OLTL. See: https://teendramawhore.com/2009/10/18/exclusive-amanda-setton-gossips-on-penelope-and-her-one-life-to-live-role/
So bathroom boy is only 4 in the top 5 vids. It can’t be that bad.
teendramawhore: yeah she is the lead actress on the show. Who does Amanda play. I watch OLTL everyday.
YAY!! Evil Nate, love it.
Yeah, My boyfriend is upset but I don’t follow him home, I watch the video again with his sister. That there my friend is a great girlfriend.
Amanda plays Kimberly.
Why can’t Nate’s evil doings go well. He is so goign to learn a lesson and go boring again. I hope this doesn’t happen. Maybe he will get back at Vanessa.
I love drunk ‘take my clothes off’ Patrick
Woo. Snap! 1 point Blair and her prostitute insult to S
Can’t say I agree with you on Nate. I understand how the good version can be boring sometimes but I don’t like this side of him. I hope he makes things right.
Give Serena a point for pushing Blair in the cake!
teendramawhore: I love Kim on OLTL. She just got a new storyline i think. I didn’t recognize her.
teendramawhore: I can’t give S a point as there has alredy been a food fight I think in the B and S saga.
So it was Nate who set it up so that was great but we find out with him being boring and noble. Who wants to see him like this?
See Dan can pull off being sweet and noble. Nate is just boring at it.
YAY!! Tripp(Aaron) won.
Not sure I remember a prior food fight but it was still an OMG moment to me.
I really don’t care that B and S are over. Bring on the changed Jenny storyline that started last episode. Why did she have to be sick in this one.
Please tell me this isn’t the last we will see of Patrick. I think I have fallen in love.
So it was Abby. Nate can’t even do evil right. I am so over him. I want more evil Abby now.
Is her name Abby or Marie? I thought I heard Marie earlier.
I’m over the Jenny storyline already, so I was fine with her being mostly MIA.
I think Patrick is done but you never know.
I so see an affair in Tripp’s future.
teendramawhore: I thought i heard Abigale. I prob am wrong.
I could be wrong, too.
I’m kind of intrigued by this affair idea.
wtf. i thought oth was amazing this week! it was truly hilarious!! 😀
i love skills too.. and nathen.. and clay.. in reality i love the entire show!
i think the whole sarah story is ok.. it’ll work out…
again.. want to reiterate that i loved this episode 😀
Peggy: I’m not gonna lie. I laughed a bit and there were parts I did like. But overall, it just wasn’t that good of an episode for me.
oth=hilaroius. the show just keeps getting better. i agree with peggy, good choices with the men. and the sarah and clay thing hopefully is over now. i think now that he told quinn there is a stronger relationship bonding between them. also, i think that nathan isn’t going to spend the litle time he has in tree hill with julian, so i’m not suprised they havent met yet…hard to toplast weeks episdode emotionally, but they needed a funny one!! 🙂
agreed junebugjenny, agreed.
also, junebug, i agree about the whole nathen and julian thing..
and also that it was hard to beat last weeks episode emotionally…
you have very good points
Junebug and Peggy: Yes, I realize last week was exceptionally good and exceptionally emotional. It’s hard to compare to that. But even if this didn’t air back-to-back and this episode was elsewhere in the season, I still would’ve thought it was just mediocre (or even below that, to be completely honest). Just my take!
really? did youthink it was funny at all? i’ve read a few other blogs and most are saying that tonights OTH was better than GG…i am thinking this week was a filler. i think next weeks looks good. and thanks for agreeing with me peg. but i call dibs on james lafferty:)
Well, I always think OTH is better than GG so that’s not an issue for me. And, yes, I did think it was funny at times for sure. I said that in my comments and in the blog itself. But that’s not enough to make it a good episode. A lot of it was a type of funny that I happen to not like.
thats fine jennybug – i call dibs on clay 🙂
i guess everyone has their own opinions… mine is that this was a fabulous episode…
i’m glad you like OTH better than GG….and i’m glad you thought some of it was funny. it wasn’t a make it break it episode for you was it?
peggy – it’s junebugjenny…and clay is hot but you can have him.
oth is always fabulous…but its hard to live up to last weeks episode;) do you think brooke is really prego?
Oh, no way was it a make-or-break episode! I would never desert the show and I can’t even if I wanted to considering I have this, um, site to run.
i agree that this epsidoe wasn’t as good as i thought it was going to be. i think next weeks looks good though. of oth i don’t watch gg…
oh and i dont think brooke is pregnant….
I don’t think she is, either. I read something a while back but I’m not sure if it was a spoiler or a foiler.
I though OTH was so great this week! Loved seeing Haley & Brooke bond. I wish we got to see way more of that! It was very funny to me, and I couldn’t stop laughing at the naughty joke Brooke made when they were playing the Ouija Board! Again, I wish we saw more of the sillyness of them hanging out together. They are still so young, sometimes I feel like the writers forget that. They’re at the age to be goofy and lively, and I saw a piece of that in Haley & Brooke tonight. Can’t wait for next week!
That’s a great point, g90210th. I think we do sometimes forget how young they still are. I was happy to see Brooke-Haley scenes but I much rather see them in serious or at least meaningful scenes, unlike what we got tonight.
So OTH was a refreshingly funny and entertaining. I was so glad that they finally had Julian interact with the other characters on the show i.e. the guys … I thought it was very approriate and hilarious the way Julian and Nathan didn’t get along. The sextape mention was great and all of throwbacks in this ep made me smile 😉 … As for Clay/Sara I was kind of with you on the opening scene where she is getting out of the water. I thought it was inappropriate considering she is dead but then I realised it was in reference to Fast Times at Ridgemont High and the fact that it made Clay’s hallucinations a bit more lighthearted as opposed to tears and angst. I’m glad that Dan and Rachel will finally have a little more connection to the rest of the show I was bummed when Rachel was back on the show but not interacting with any of the characters that she went to high school with. And the pot bronwies were too funny I like that they talk about their past as sisters including Taylor. That seems like something my sister would do to me lol … I think this might have been my favorite episode this season because there was no pointless Renee drama, finally some Dan/Rachel story progression, interaction with all the characters (save for Clay) and it was funny, which has been rare this season for OTH.
Wow, your favorite! So I guess I’m alone in disliking the episode! lol That’s okay. To each her own!
It definitely was a departure from the other episodes this season but I didn’t find it refreshing–mostly because I didn’t like the humor. Well, I thought a lot of the stuff with the guys was funny but I had no patience for the Brooke-Haley-Quinn stuff. And I preferred the Clay-Sara stuff to stay tears and angst (though I would’ve preferred even more for the hallucinations to be over). I liked the sextape mention as well and wouldn’t have mind seeing it be a bigger deal. I did like the Taylor mentions, too (you sometimes forget that Haley has her own family!). What other throwbacks did you notice?
I, too, am looking forward to seeing Rachel (and Dan) interact with everyone again. I’m eager to see more progression with the other storylines as well.
just reading the blog now, isn’t the title in reference to the song (I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight by Cutting Crew? I thought it was 🙂
Both Cutting Crew and Chicago have done the song (as have a dozen other bands). But Cutting Crew was the original so I guess credit goes to them!
And now that I think about it, the title it a little crass given how Sara died.
o really, i’ve never heard the other ones, just cutting crew’s. True, now that u say that about sara, never thought of that.
My favorite episode!!!!!!!

Gossip Girl Season 1 Episode 9 s01e09 “Blair Waldorf Must Pie!”
When Dan hears that Serena and her family are spending Thanksgiving alone at The Palace, he naively invites them to spend the holiday with his family, creating an uncomfortable situation for Rufus and Lily whose children are unaware of their complicated romantic history. Meanwhile, Blair’s emotions spiral out of control when she learns that her father isn’t coming home for Thanksgiving. Nate spends the holiday with his mom and dad, but their awkward dinner quickly goes from bad to worse.
You aren’t the only one who didn’t care for this episode, TDW. I always find it ridiculous when shows have the characters acting ridiculous when they’re high, I’ve seen a lot of people high and the only ones I can remember acting like that are the ones trying to pretend they’re higher than they are. Also, I still cannot stand Quinn and there was too much of her in this episode for me. I was never a Peyton fan, but she did not ever make me want to turn off my tv. Quinn most definitely does.
Oh yeah, and while I never watch GG, I came back into my room to see Bree Williamson on GG. She plays ONE of the central characters on OLTL. That’s another six degree connection to the soaps.
Whew, thank you, Sane! The episode was just very unoriginal with both the pot thing and the camping trip. Unfortunately, you’re going to have to get used to Quinn.
I totally forgot to mention the Bree Williamson thing in the episode. Interesting that none of the press played that up prior to the episode airing.
I’ve got another connection: Amanda Schull (Sara) starred in Center Stage with Peter Gallagher (Sandy, The O.C.),
Quick (and probably irrelevant question) — did Dan say that he wished Nathan would come on the show? I thought I heard (and I may be completely off) him say that they should get LUCAS to do a guest spot, because he “isn’t doing anything”.. You know me, classic OTH fan (and Leyton fan) for life, haha.
lauraelizabeth, you are right! I thought I heard Nathan but according to several other sites, Dan did in fact say Lucas!
Not an irrelevant question at all, as many CMM lovers and haters are saying it was the show’s way of making a jibe at him. ::shrug::
ok soo.. when brooke ate the pot brownies did anyone else think of that time in season 1 after the game when she took an extra pain killer ? because i got flashbacks of that during this episode.
and, i sorta liked seeing brooke away from juilan for an episode
Ooh, I didn’t think of that but now that you mention it, I definitely see similarities.
Today I watched “Pictures Of You” from season 4, which had both Rachel smoking pot and Haley, quite hilariously, doing impressions (everyone did actually, but Haley stands out). I know the pot scenario here wasn’t quite the same but it definitely feels redundant considering all the other shows (like 90210 last season) that have done it. And the Haley part reminded me that she can be quite funny but I just didn’t like it last night.
i agree that it was not original to do camping and the pot in one episode. ithink they were going off of the halloween thing to like have a “scary” but funny one. i also think that they have a lot to from for this season. clay and quinn totes just jumped in and took over lucas and peyton’s spot and i’m not bothered by it yet. i dont think brook will be preg because then there would be a baby and then this would probs be the last season..
a lot to go from for this season*
Yes, it was definitely meant to capitalize off Halloween. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make it any more acceptable to me. Sigh.
Clay and Quinn have definitely jumped in. But I’ll take Leyton over them any day!
Not sure if Brooke is pregnant. As I said somewhere above, not sure if what I’ve read is a spoiler or a foiler. But I don’t think whether she is or isn’t has any impact on whether this is the last season.
“Well maybe we can get Lucas to do a guest spot. It’s not like he’s doing anything.”
Then they went on to talk about Nathan not calling to say thank you.
It could be a jibe at CMM. Or it could be foreshadowing to a sweeps stunt.
Definitely NOT foreshadowing a sweeps stunt. There are no plans for CMM to appear on the show.
Whether it’s a jibe, though, I guess is in the eye of the beholder!
