Ausiello: Even though I’ve never been an OTH fan, I have to admit the Feb. 1 episode sounds pretty cool. Titled “Don’t You Forget About Me,” it’s an homage to the late John Hughes, complete with an ’80s-theme dance, reenactments of scenes from his classic movies and a performance by Cheap Trick.
Question: Is it true that Hayley’s mom is returning on One Tree Hill? —Margaret
Ausiello: Yes, Bess Armstrong is reprising her role for a handful of episodes, all of them fairly sad.
Question: My friend Lisa smells like a goat; you can imagine what a social outcast she is. It would make her day — and who knows maybe she’ll take a shower — if you give us some information on the Chuck and Blair break-up on Gossip Girl. Please? She really smells! —Alianna
Ausiello: You’re a good friend, Alianna. Lisa’s lucky to have you in her life. I mean that. Please tell her that the rumors are true: Chuck and Blair will hit a significant (and potentially irreparable) rough patch at the end of the season.

I read there was going to be another death coming. I already new Haley’s mom was coming back, but after reading Ausiello’s answer about Haley’s mom coming back, I think I know who’s going to die. If you think about it, it would explain part of why Taylor is back on the show. (unless I’m totally wrong) LOL
Grr! I wish people would ask 90210 questions! I’m glad Chuck and Blair are about to end things and I’m excited for OTH.
naleymisafan, it’s probably their dad esp. with the three sisters on the show right now it would be a big dramatic storyline. Btw, has anyone on the show ever said just how many siblings are in the James family? We obviously know Haley, Taylor, Quinn, and we have heard the name Vivian, but are there any brothers?
Alyssa, that’s exactly who I think it is. It makes sense, with all of them going to be there. I think Haley mentioned it in season one, when she started dating Nathan, that there were 4 sisters total. No brothers, though.
Okay good lol, I don’t know how many more surprise pop-ins from Haley’s family I can take.
In season one nathan says “are these all your brothers and sisters?”
with arms outstretched was the name of the episode i think.
naleymisafan and Alyssa: Since this is a spoiler post, I think this is okay to say: I have heard Lydia will be dying of cancer. I have not heard anything about Haley’s father, either in terms of the character or the actor who played him (Huey Lewis). I could be mistaken; it could even be a foiler. But that’s the story going around. And it POs me for several reasons.
1. Haley’s mom/dad have been largely MIA. We last saw them in season 2 and I last remember them mentioned in season 3. It seems unrealistic or at least unfortunate that Haley never mentions them. That makes me wonder how their relationship will be depicted in this storyline. Will they establish that Haley (and co., especially Jamie) has seen her over the years? Or that they keep in touch? Or they don’t and that will be something to struggle with? It just seems random and disappointing because I would’ve loved to see stuff with Haley’s parents over the years.
2. While not exactly the same, it’s not new/original. We’ve seen both Haley and Nathan struggle with someone’s death (Quentin) and have to contemplate a (grand)parent dying (Dan).
3. Furthermore, it feels redundant as us 90210 viewers have already seen a female character struggle with their mother’s cancer death this season. I strongly believe that shows on the same network, especially those targeting similar audiences/demographics, should have coordination to avoid exhausting viewers with the same/similar storylines.
To be fair, I don’t know much about it. (I don’t even know what role, if any, Taylor plays.) I can say, however, I am looking forward to seeing how BJG’s acting is.
Oh, and yes, there are 4 James girls but, like Lexy says, I thought there were brothers, too! Depending on how they do this storyline, I feel like it will have to be mentioned or even seen. We’ll see!
Wes: Ausiello doesn’t typically include 90210 questions in his Q and A, and even rarer are One Tree Hill ones so this is a big surprise!
I hope they don’t do another cancer storyline. We have seen that with Peyton too. I wish they could have drama without death, but it is OTH.
Oh my goodness, I can’t believe I forgot Peyton and Ellie! When I was making my list of complaints in my head, that was my first one but I guess I spaced and forgot to include it. So…
1a. We’ve already had a female character dealing with her mother dying of cancer on the show.

I guess there are “James” brothers (now), I just read an article Shantel (Quinn) did, saying “We’re reuniting some parts of the family — our mom and some of our brothers and sisters — we didn’t necessarily know we had before”.
Yes, I posted that interview last night. I am confused, though, because I always thought there were brothers and the way Shantel makes it sounds, it’s like Haley and co. are just discovering they have siblings. Weird. I’m eager to see how it goes down, especially since I’m still bothered by the fact that we have seen so little of their family and now they’re trying to use it. I don’t have much faith that it’ll work well.
I guess there were always brothers, because in eppy 1.09 Nathan asks Haley “are these all your brothers & sisters” pointing to the pictures. Thats the only time she’s mentioned brothers. Exactly, I’m eager too. I think maybe Shantel meant that they are finally going to “show” the brothers. idk. We’ll see, should be interesing. =D
