I think if 90210 had rather been a proper remake instead of a spinoff with none of the original characters in it, it would of been a lot better. Or if they wanted the original characters back, they could of atleast not screw up their endings from the original
I was thinking the exactly same thing. People’s expectations were too high when they heard that BH 90210 was having a spin-off and then were saying it was stupid and crap because they expected way too much. It would have definately had a better chance if it was a stand alone in the beginning.
Actually, Wes, my expectations weren’t high at all and I think it is “stupid and crap” regardless of it being a BH90210 spin-off. My beef with the show isn’t just that it’s soiled the BH90210 name and legacy. It’s that, IMO, it’s not a quality show–period–both in terms of characters/storylines related AND unrelated to the original.
But, as a die-hard BH90210 fan, as Joe and Sara said, I wish it had none of the original characters on. Or, and this would’ve been the most preferred, I wish it was just a teen show set in California, having no relation whatsoever to the brand. Too late.
Still, even it had been a 100 percent “stand alone” show, and we still got everything we did (except for things related to the original, obviously), I would still be disappointed with the show and would have no problem calling it a “disaster.”
So, to be perfectly clear, my predilection for BH90210 is not the only reason why I am unhappy with 90210.

Hey teen drama whore-I really want to know, what do you prefer or which one is better for you-gossip girl or 90210? I still say gossip girl despite the messy first half of season 3. I think mostly because off the gossip girl character giving it a unique feel:)

TDW yeah you have a good point there. I never really thought about it like that but yeah you are right. Luckily this season 90210 has somewhat formed it’s own fanbase and stuff with the audience where people are actually wanting more and more of the show which is always good but I don’t think it will stay on pass season 3 unfortunately 😦
While that remains to be seen, some cast *may* already have season 4 deals (though that doesn’t count for much) and a fourth season would likely mean syndication (which does count for much). We’ll see!
