MICKEY: There will, Jamie! I have it on good authority that while Teddy is off reducing Silver and Annie’s self-esteem, Dixon will be enjoying the company of a new girl in town. There’s not much I can say about her just yet, except that she’s older, gorgeous and very gooooooal!-oriented.
Is it true that Michelle Trachtenberg has been promoted to series regular on Gossip Girl? — William
MICKEY: No, it’s not true, but I can understand why you might think that, since the Season 2 finale indicated that Georgina would be enrolling at NYU with the gang. Not only will Trachtenberg’s fall run on Gossip Girl be brief, but the actress’ other show, the NBC nursing drama Mercy, has just been moved up from midseason to allow for Maura Tierney’s breast tumor surgery. So with Mercy rushed into production, Trachtenberg will be otherwise occupied.

MICKEY: At the recent Paley Festival, new show-runner Rebecca Rand Kirshner said, “I was sort of stumped by [Ethan]. I didn’t feel like there was the longevity in that character that I wanted. And so it was a real loss.” Unofficially, I’m hearing that Ethan’s departure has paved the way for a new male lead of a very different stripe. More on him here.

MICKEY: Speaking with TVGuide.com at the CW upfronts, Leighton Meester seemed to confirm that Georgina’s plan to weasel her way into Blair’s life will be successful, as Blair will be living — gasp! — in an NYU dorm, with the little people! Including possibly both G. and V.! (Don’t worry, Dorota fans; she’ll still be on hand to tend to her “Miss Blair.”)

MICKEY: Hope springs eternal, Megan! I will downgrade my previous sarcastic remark to say that the possibility of Serenate is alive and well through the end of the season. But Serena’s season-finale suitor is someone entirely different — and surprising. If it’s a happy ending you’re looking for, forget it. Will One Tree Hill‘s “Leyton” be back next season with mini Leyton? — Nicole
MATT: Alas, in the days since you sent in this question, the CW confirmed that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton will not be returning for Season 7. The silver lining is that the actors’ final outing is a solid one. TVGuide.com’s Robyn Ross, who screened the May 18 season finale, reports that the hour “wraps things up in a little bow with no shockers to leave us hanging. Old faces were back, and dreams were truly realized. Perhaps it could’ve served better as a series finale, because I’d love to think this is the way these stories would have ended.”

MICKEY: Before I tell you who dies, let me ask you this, Matty: Ever see the movie Carrie? Because it’s prom time at West Bev, and Annie is doing her best Sissy Spacek impression for us. It’s harrowing; you might even say she is driven to do some very uncharacteristic things, like maybe even kill someone! Who? It’s hard to say exactly, but in the same episode, Adrianna makes a choice, Ethan makes a declaration, and Liam makes a mistake — all three of which are life-changing.

Will there be a Georgina-Blair face-off before the Gossip Girl season finale? I would love to see that!
MICKEY: Who wouldn’t? That said, Georgina’s reappearance has more to do with fluffy-bunny Serena’s recent turn toward the dark side than it does with Blair’s ridonk “Nate’s going to Columbia, which is on the West Side, oh my!” storyline. Call me cynical, but I’m not convinced by perpetual con-woman G’s spiritual awakening; she’s got more than a rosary up those sleeves.
