RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

How the hell is ‘One Tree Hill’ going to resolve the shooting of Clay and Quinn? – Michelle
Although Robert Buckley has already all but confirmed his character’s survival of the attack, I have to wonder if he and Quinn (played by Shantel VanSanten) are dunzo, seeing as being popped by your dead wife’s look-alike has got to sour a romance. Robert begged to differ, though. “I think that being shot with someone might be a bonding experience,” he ventured, “if Quinn pulls through as well. We’ll see!”

Matt, I still miss Emmanuelle Vaugier as ‘CSI: NY’s Detective Angell. Any scoop on her new ‘Covert Affairs’ role? – ytwopoint0 via Twitter
I attended a screening of the ‘Covert Affairs’ premiere just the other day, and I totes forgot that Emmanuelle had booked a recurring role… until BAM! There her gorgeousness was, going toe-to-toe with Peter Gallagher’s CIA bigwig. Vaugier is playing a hard-nosed D.C. journalist who has a well-placed mole inside the Agency, and frankly Uncle Sam is none to happy about it. USA Network’s ‘Covert Affairs’ premieres this Tuesday at 10/9c.

Vaugier played Nicki on One Tree Hill and Gallagher played Sandy on The O.C.

  • SoapNet has a new quiz entitled, Which Beverly Hills 90210 Girl Are You? I got Andrea and was told, “Brainy and awkward, you might be overlooked by guys — but don’t worry! You’re too great to be passed by for long, and when you find love, it’ll be the real deal. Mostly.”

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Matt in Montclair, Calif.: Is Southland really that good? Should I give it a shot on TNT?
We say yes, and so does Ben McKenzie: “People just need to watch it, and after 15 minutes, you’ll decide whether you like it or not. If you’re into a sort of grittier, darker cop show without the sheen that a lot of networks put on their shows, you’ll like it. It’s very character driven, it’s hard-hitting, there’s a lot of action, but there’s also some romance, so it’s a real show you can follow week to week.” And maybe if you start watching, TNT will take note and order up some more episodes (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

Monica in New Orleans: Anything good coming up on Gossip Girl?
Chuck is going to visit Bart’s grave on the anniversary of his death, and when he gets there, he won’t be the only one paying his respects. Any guesses on who’ll pop up? I’m hearing that not one but two family members could be making surprising returns.

Brianna: How about something on One Tree Hill? Anything juicy?
How’s this: A source tells me Haley and Quinn’s sister Taylor is going to come back to Tree Hill.

Cian33: 90210 is so much better this year! I hope you are watching. What can you dish?
Agreed! It is way better than season one, in case any of you are missing it. I’m told there’s a sex scandal in the works: Naomi is going to accuse a teacher of sexual harassment.

Irene in Newport News, Va.: I’m loving White Collar! Any scoop?
Ever since the White Collar pilot, we’ve found that the everyday eps of this USA series have been a smidgen flimsier than we’d like, but the midseason finale on Dec. 4 is the sharp and snappy standard we’d like to see from the show. What happens? Well, Neal (Matthew Bomer) is finally confronted with a criminal nemesis worthy of his talents, Elizabeth Burke’s (Tiffani Thiessen) presence on the show starts to make sense, and there is a huge (huge!) reveal about Agent Burke (Tim McKay) that involves something pretty important from Neal’s past.

Win a Signed Album From Jack Savoretti!

21 09 2009

I am giving away two albums signed by Jack Savoretti, whose song “Wonder” will be featured in the coda of tonight’s One Tree Hill.

Savoretti, who hails from London, digitally released his latest album “Harder Than Easy” in the U.S. last week.

Read on for my interview with Savoretti and for instructions on how to win one of the autographed CDs.

TeenDramaWhore: When did you first know you wanted to be a musician?

Jack Savoretti: The first time I ever heard songs like “Sound Of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel , and “Forever Young” by Bob Dylan I realized the power of music behind words, and how words can be brought to people in song rather than just on paper… Music allows you to put your own meaning on words you use everyday, and that’s when I started using music, and therefore became a musician.

TDW: Who are your music influences?

Savoretti: My influences are pretty endless, as I find new ones everyday, but the first had to be the likes of Paul Simon, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, The Band , Bradley Nowell (Sublime), Bob Dylan, and Italian singer songwriters in the likes of Fabrizio De Andre.

TDW: How would you describe your sound?

Savoretti: I wanted this album to have all the sounds that have influenced me from the old American music that has been such a part of a culture that I love, to the sound of the Mediterranean with which I grew up with.

TDW: Do you think the music scenes in the U.S. and Britain are different?

Savoretti:
I think the music scene in the UK and the US has always been different and always will be. To be fair, the music scene in every country is somewhat unique. People make music, and people are going through different things in different countries, and the music always reflects that. That’s the beauty of music.

TDW: Will you be touring in the U.S. at all?

Savoretti: It’s definitely in the cards. I think every musician’s dream is to tour the USA.

TDW: How did you get involved with One Tree Hill?

Savoretti: The folks from One Tree Hill have always been extremely generous to new artists like myself . There seems to be a great relationship between the show and music. It seems to play a role in the show as important as the characters, and is often used to define a character. I have been very fortunate to have been involved with the show.

TDW: Why do you think the song “Wonder” was chosen?

Savoretti: I can’t really say why. The writers of the show have been kind enough to think it fits.

TDW: Have you seen the episode yet?

Savoretti: I can’t say I have , as I am in London, and we are always a couple months behind you guys.

TDW: Will you be doing anything to celebrate its airing?

Savoretti: I have a feeling I’ll be smiling a lot more than usual …

You can find out more about Jack Savoretti on his official MySpace page or follow him on Twitter.

Comment below with your favorite One Tree Hill music moment–not a performance, but one specific scene with a specific song playing in the background. Tell me why you love that scene and why the song works perfectly.  The two best submissions will each get a CD autographed by Savoretti. You have until Wednesday at 11:59pm central time to comment!

Be sure to come back at 7pm central for my live-blog of tonight’s episode and on Sunday for another exclusive interview.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Any word yet on how they’re going to explain Lucas and Peyton’s sudden absence from the coming season of One Tree Hill now that the actors aren’t returning? It’s killing me! — Samantha D.
ADAM: A show rep suggests that it will involve a bit of rebooting. “Obviously, we have new stories to tell, but at the same time, this season very much feels like classic One Tree Hill.” How so? “Some characters might be in an episode for just one scene, but it’s a scene that serves the story and the serialized nature of our season.” Translation: They haven’t figured it out yet.

Is it true that Liam and Naomi break up this season on 90210? I hope not; I like them together! — Shanti
MICKEY: With all the double-crossing that went on between them, I thought they kind of deserved each other. But I have bad news for you, Shanti. My 90210 moles are rumbling about two new characters who appear to spell the end of Liomi (Naoliam? I’m bad at this). A sexy surfer hottie will spar with Liam on the beach, and Naomi will fake an interest in the environment to snare her new do-gooder, college-aged boyfriend.

What will Tiffani Thiessen do on USA’s White Collar? Is it anything like what she did on Fastlane? Or Beverly Hills, 90210? Or Saved By the Bell?  — Manny
MICKEY: Thiessen plays Elizabeth, wife to Tim DeKay’s FBI Agent Peter Stokes, and she’ll be inspired by Laura Linney’s work in HBO’s John Adams, if executive producer Jeff Eastin is to be believed. (Yes, you read that right.) Eastin asked the actress to watch Linney’s performance as the devoted wife and trusted presidential advisor. “What I loved about Abigail Adams in that show was you had someone who was incredibly supportive of her husband but was a really strong person in her own right,” Eastin says. “That was sort of the catalyst to start molding Elizabeth.” Intrigued?

I love Raising the Bar, and I was wondering if you have any scoop on the final three episodes of the season? — Caroline
ADAM: Monday’s episode will be a battle of the teen-show all-stars, and first prize is Zack Morris’ heart. Jerry’s budding relationship with Bobbi (Saved by the Bell: The New Class vet Natalia Cigliuti) hits yet another snag when he’s wooed by a gang expert played by Meredith Monroe (Dawson’s Creek‘s Andie).

***

Some notes…

What both the rep and Adam fail to mention is that the show is skipping ahead one year, which will help explain Leyton’s absence and transition to the new storylines.

Pretty sure that surfer girl ends up with Dixon, not Liam.  And isn’t Naomi pretending to be who she’s not the same thing she did with Liam?

Lastly, Natalia Cigliuti was also on Beverly Hills 90210 as Chloe.
