90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and More

20 01 2009
  • A “crisis” will occur in the 90210 episode that Jason Priestley directs.  A hospital is involved somehow.
  • AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) will be returning to Nip/Tuck later this month.
  • More details are being released about Kelly Rutherford’s (Lily, Gossip Girl) impending divorce and custody battle.
  • EW’s recap of last night’s Gossip Girl (you can read my reaction here) criticizes The O.C. and Dawson’s Creek for the way it transitioned to college.  Beverly Hills 90210, on the other hand, is complimented.
  • DC is again criticized here, now by Buddy TV, for its approach to college. This time, though, The O.C. and One Tree Hill get credit.
  • A paper in the UK is calling Gossip Girl “rubbish” that they “can’t get enough of.”  What does that say about them?
  • There’s a new page on Facebook exclusively for Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick, Gossip Girl) quotes.
  • According to an exclusive statement given to OneTreeHillFans.com, there will not be an OTH charity basketball game like there’s been in the past.
  • The same site is also reporting of rumors that Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) will not return for a seventh season.  They also acknowledge this has been denied by the network.

Beginning as early as 1993 with Beverly Hills 90210, teen dramas have featured musical guests to drive up ratings or move a plot along. For the next 5 days, I’ll countdown the top 10 musical guests on Beverly Hills 90210, Dawson’s Creek, The O.C. and One Tree Hill.  90210 and Gossip Girl will not be included as they haven’t yet had any musical guests.

In these clips, you can see Dennis performing at the West Beverly prom.

9. Jem (The O.C., Episode 1.27: The Ties That Bind)

Site of the Week: The WB.com

12 01 2009

The WB may be long gone (and I’m still in mourning) but it lives on thanks to the internet.

On TheWB.com, you can watch a few of our teen drama faves including The O.C. and One Tree Hill.  And as an added bonus they also have awesome shows like Everwood, Gilmore Girls and Friends.

The site has been one of the best kept secrets for the last few months…until now.

You can read more about it here.

Try it out and tell me what you think in the comments!

Article: Josh Schwartz’s New Web Series

7 01 2009

Josh Schwartz keeps adding more to his plate!  Besides Gossip Girl and Chuck, he’s also at the helm of Rockville, CA (ever notice that teen drama titles are often based on location??).

Rockville, CA is a new web series airing exclusively on TheWB.com this March.

Why the web instead of the good ‘ol CW?  These episodes are only 4 minutes long, making them super-convenient.

Also involved is Alexandra Patsavas who you may know from choosing the awesome music on The O.C. and GG.

You can read more about Schwart’z new creation here.
