News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and Dawson’s Creek

30 08 2010
  • Zap2it has spoilish video interviews with Gillian Zinser (Ivy, 90210) and Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210).
  • PEOPLE.com also has a spoiler-filled interview with Lowndes.
  • Three networks are reportedly trying to snag Good Christian Bitches, a TV series based on the books of the same name, which would be executive-produced by Darren Star (creator, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Megan Fox, wife of Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210), did a (NSFW) video interview where she talks about a dream she had about Luke Perry (Dylan, Beverly Hills 90210). BAG is not mentioned at all in the interview, which I thought was weird.
  • Ivanka Trump tweeted that she and her husband Jared filmed an episode of Gossip Girl today.
  • Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill) has a few new recent blog posts, including one today where she said she was off to Vancouver to shoot the Life Unexpected crossover.
  • Rick Fox (Daunte, One Tree Hill) will be on the new season of Dancing With The Stars, making him the first OTH star to compete on the show, and making OTH the second teen drama (after BH90210) to have a star on the show.
  • Jane Lynch (Mrs. Witter, Dawson’s Creek) beat Julie Bowen (Aunt Gwen, Dawson’s Creek) for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy in the Primetime Emmys last night, but Bowen’s show Modern Family won Outstanding Comedy. Lynch lost for Outstanding Guest Star In A Comedy.
  • SoapCentral.com has an interesting article about conflicting reports as to whether Roger Howarth (Professor Hetson, Dawson’s Creek) is returning to One Life To Live.

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, 90210, One Tree Hill and More

  • Kevin Zegers (Damian, Gossip Girl) is reportedly being considered for Mission: Impossible 4.
  • Stumbled across this today. Beverly Hills 90210 fans, take a look.
  • Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) tweeted she will be on Martha Stewart’s show in September.
  • SheKnows has a video interview with Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Marcil will be on the September 13 season premiere of The Doctors.

  • Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) and Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill) have partnered with Veritas Fashion on a new t-shirt where some of the profits will go towards the Gulf Coast clean-up. Bush and Nichols seem to be announcing new Gulf Coast-related projects and contests multiple times a week, so make sure you keep checking their Twitter accounts.
  • Bush will be honored this weekend by Reality Cares, though she won’t be there in-person to accept the award.
  • Katie Holmes (Joey, Dawson’s Creek) may star in Jack And Jill, a film with Adam Sandler.

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and 90210

23 08 2010
  • TV Guide Magazine has a few Gossip Girl spoilers.
  • Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) is on the cover of Nylon’s September issue.
  • Interview has an, um, interview with Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl).
  • Everly, featuring Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill), has a new website.
  • Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill) has started a humorous (parody?) Twitter account under the name @SensitiveJulian.
  • Tristan Wilds (Dixon, 90210) tweeted that he started a blog.
  • The Beverly Hills 90210 Season 10 DVD will be released November 2. TVShowsOnDVD.com has a look at the cover art and reports that The Final Goodbye will be included as a bonus feature. (The set itself is being marketed as The Final Season, as opposed to The Tenth Season.) While I am happy that there are special features again (it’s the first time since season 4), I wonder if its inclusion and the timing of the release means there won’t be a complete series set. They are not only missing out on the opportunity to market it for Christmas, but to have it come out on a year of double anniversaries for the show. But I suppose anything is possible own the road. And at first I was thrilled to see what I thought was an authentic cover photo – as in, it was an original group photo with all of the tenth season’s regular cast members; no one was photoshopped in or out like in the past and the photo wasn’t otherwise altered in any way- but I doubled-checked and a Google search of the original photo shows they did make some subtle, needless changes. It’s pretty amazing: ten seasons, ten DVDs and not one with appropriate and/or unedited cover art! The photo on the top left also looks suspicious but I can’t say for sure without seeing the cover first-hand. Also, it’s interesting that there’s three pictures of Tori Spelling (Donna) on the front and another on the side. I mean, are two solo pics necessary? Really? Also, love how Vincent Young (Noah) went from being left off the covers for seasons 8 and 9, but gets two pictures on this one. Sigh.

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and More

19 08 2010
  • The CW has pulled 18 to Life from its schedule. It will be replaced by repeats of Life Unexpected, which stars Shiri Appleby (Rene, Beverly Hills 90210) and Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek).
  • ABC News has a “Where Are They Now?” piece about some of the Beverly Hills 90210 cast members. Note: it lacks accuracy and completeness. Guess they don’t have a fact-checker.
  • The TV Fanatic has an interview with Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl). Warning: spoilers included.
  • Everly, featuring Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill), has launched a blog. They also have an official YouTube page now.
  • MovieMaker has an interview with Amanda Schull (Sara/Katie, One Tree Hill). Warning: slight spoiler at the end.
  • Covert Affairs, featuring Peter Gallagher (Sandy, The O.C.) and Emmanuelle Vaugier (Nicki, One Tree Hill) and executive produced by Doug Liman (executive producer, The O.C.) and Dave Bartis (executive producer, The O.C.), has been renewed for a second season.
  • New York magazine has a fun interview with Gallagher.
  • Zap2it has a great interview with Melinda Clarke (Julie, The O.C.). Love that she wants to reunite, so to speak, with Tate Donovan (Jimmy, The O.C.).
  • TVOvermind has an interview with Brittany Daniel (Eve, Dawson’s Creek). I wasn’t sure if she was coming back to The Game, but she says she is.

Spoiler: Ask Ausiello

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: Any new One Tree Hill scoop? —Ryan
Ausiello:
The rumors are true: Life is imitating art for Bethany Joy Galeotti, who’s expecting her first child this winter. There’s also buzz that Galeotti has informed One Tree Hill producers that she will not be sticking around beyond this season, but a source close to the show tells me that’s hogwash. (Yes, he/she actually used the word hogwash.)

Credit: EW.com

****

Note:

“Buzz” started with E! Online, which claimed that Galeotti “may opt not to return to the show beyond the current 12-episode order should the network want to extend the series’ run this season.” It said nothing about “beyond this season,” as Ausiello puts it. The issue is supposedly about this season. So is Ausiello purposefully not addressing the same issue but making it seem like he is or am I reading too much into this?

Random Question

18 08 2010

I’ve been very vocal about my inability to accept One Tree Hill without Lucas and Peyton.

(Though, to be fair, I have gripes with the show’s seventh season that have nothing to do their absence.)

There is now an unconfirmed (and let me stress unconfirmed) report that Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley) could possibly leave the show if the season 8 episode order is extended beyond 12 episodes.

That begs the question…

Can you accept One Tree Hill without Haley?

  • Zap2it also has an interview with Burton about White Collar.
  • As I hinted to earlier, Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) are not an on again as a couple, despite reports claiming otherwise. Gossip Cop has the accurate details.

  • The full trailer for The Romantics, starring Katie Holmes (Joey, Dawson’s Creek) and featuring Adam Brody (Seth, The O.C.) has been released. I believe Holmes also produced. I am really looking forward to it. It seems to have many teen drama elements, though the characters are older.
  • Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek) is now on Twitter. The account is linked to the Life Unexpected cast Facebook page. I’ve updated the Twitter Directory. Thanks to MJ for letting me know.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Reed in North Carolina: Are One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected really doing a crossover?
Yes, it’s true! Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) and Mia (Kate Voegele) will swing by to see Cate (Shiri Appleby) at the radio station for some nice crossover love on the Oct. 12 episode of LUX. I’m told the CW execs are hoping to get the OTH crowd fully sucked into LUX—as you should be!

Enough Chuck and Blair! I want the goods on Rufus and Lily, the best couple on television. What’s up for them thi season? Also, is Michele Trachtenberg going to be a regular?
I’m told that Michele is not a series regular, though we’ll definitely be seeing her in the beginning of the season, obviously. And as for Rufus and Lily, not a whole lot of major action going on there in the beginning of the season. But stay tuned!

Drew: Is the baby really Dan’s on Gossip Girl? Will Jenny Humphrey be back?
No comment re: the baby. But think about it! As for Little J, yes, she will return.

Anything good coming up on Gossip Girl?
Well, when I asked a good show source if there’s hope for Chuck and Blair he said “Of course,” so take that for what you will. Meanwhile, in real life, our very own Hollywood Party Girl is reporting at Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick have reunited into full-fledged coupledom. Guess he doesn’t really care that just last week, Jessica was swapping spit with another gal (and we know this little gem thanks in large part to our partner in crime Marc Malkin). I wish Kristen Bell‘s voice was narrating all this cause it’d be far more fascinating…

Nadia: Will Quinn be back on One Tree Hill?
Yep!

Notes:

Appleby played Rene on Beverly Hills 90210, and LUX also stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek).

Take the Szohr and Westwick stuff with a grain of salt.
