News Roundup: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210 and More

12 08 2010
  • Kristin tweeted that Gossip Girl’s Chuck and Blair are not the subject of her wedding spoiler.
  • Josh Schwartz (executive producer, The O.C.) had tweeted this morning that there is “no truth” to the rumor that Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) has asked to have her character killed so she could leave the show BUT several hours later I saw that the tweet was deleted. When I checked with The CW earlier this week about this rumor, they issued a “no comment.” Interpret as you wish.
  • Penn Badgley (Dan, Gossip Girl) will present at the MTV Video Music Awards next month.
  • Badgley did a feature for the launch issue of Bullet magazine, but I don’t believe it’s out yet. There’s a behind-the-scenes video where he talks about the photo shoot and shows off some of his pian0-playing and singing skills.
  • Luke Kleintank (Elliott, Gossip Girl) has been cast on The Young And The Restless.
  • Star News came up with an interesting list of 5 crossover ideas for One Tree Hill.
  • JustJared claims Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) and Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill) will present the Breakthrough in Green Innovation award to Global Green at the Breakthrough of the Year Awards this weekend. He apparently previously reported that Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) will get the Breakthrough Actress in Film award while AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) will get the Breakthrough Standout Performance award.
  • Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210) tweeted that he will be part of the city of Beverly Hills’ 9.02.10 Day celebrations, and he’s hosting a contest related to it.
  • SoapNet will have a Beverly Hills 90210 “Labor Of Love” marathon on Labor Day with Kelly-Dylan season 3 episodes. I could not be any happier. (Well, I’d be happier it if it was a super-long marathon about their whole relationship over the 10 seasons but…this…is…awesome!)
  • EW.com has a “first look” at Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) on Desperate Housewives.
  • The Associated Press has an article about Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) returning to General Hospital.
  • According to TVGuide.com, Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.) makes $40,000 per an episode for The Secret Life Of The American Teenager, while one-time Beverly Hills 90210 guest star Ashley Tisdale will be making $30,000 an episode for The CW’s Hellcats.
  • Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan, The O.C.) will be performing in The Glass Menagerie in California from September 1 to October 17.
  • Gossip Cop and I busted a false National Enquirer story claiming Katie Holmes (Joey, Dawson’s Creek) and husband Tom Cruise are feuding over a smoking addiction.

News Roundup: 90210, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and The O.C.

22 07 2010
  • Evan Ross has been cast on 90210 as Charlie. Digging the acting choice, iffy on the storyline based on what we know so far.
  • The San Francisco Chronicle has an interesting interview with Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie, Beverly Hills 90210) made her first post-baby public appearance at the White Collar panel at Comic-Con today.
  • ROCnow has an interview with The Flaming Lips, where their appearance on Beverly Hills 90210 is discussed.
  • EverythingAustin.com has an interview with Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tee Hill).
  • MTV has a video interview with Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl).
  • Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl), Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl) and Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.) are scheduled to attend the Teen Choice Awards.

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, 90210, One Tree Hill and More

14 06 2010
  • Gossip Girl led the Teen Choice 2010 nominations, earning six total. Gossip Girl and 90210 were both nominated for Choice TV Show: Drama. Penn Badgley (Dan, Gossip Girl), Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) and Tristan Wilds (Dixon, 90210) were all nominated for Choice TV Actor: Drama. The Choice TV Actress: Drama category featured all current and former teen drama stars: Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl), Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) and Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) along with Olivia Wilde (Alex, The O.C.) for House and Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.) for The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) was nominated for Choice TV Villain. Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) and Paul Wesley (Donnie, The O.C.) were both nominated for Choice TV Actor: Fantasy/Sci-Fi for Fringe and The Vampire Diaries, respectively. Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl) was nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Romantic Comedy for When In Rome and Choice Movie Actress: Comedy for Couples Retreat while Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) and Rumer Willis (Gia, 90210) were both nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Horror/Thriller for Shutter Island and Sorority Row, respectively. Badgley and Adam Brody (Seth, The O.C.) were each nominated for Choice Movie Actor: Horror/Thriller for The Stepfather and Jennifer’s Body, respectively.
  • The CW Sourcies have begun and the first category is Best Kiss. From our shows, you can vote for Adrianna and Navid’s reunion kiss in the 90210 season finale or Haley and Nathan’s kiss in the One Tree Hill season finale after she reveals she’s pregnant.
  • SoapNet made a few changes to the Sunday teen drama schedule: The O.C. is getting two additional hours, now airing from 6-9am while Beverly Hills 90210 airs from 9am to 1pm and One Tree Hill from 3pm to 7pm. I’ve updated their show pages to reflect this.
  • MTV spoke with Kevin Zegers (Damien, Gossip Girl) about his upcoming film schedule, including The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, which will also star Hilary Duff (Olivia, Gossip Girl).
  • AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) was on the Today Show this morning.
  • Mekia Cox (Sasha, 90210) was cast in Undercovers, a new NBC series.
  • Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) will co-host The View tomorrow, the same day her book uncharted terriTORI is released. I am planning to go to her book signing tomorrow night.
  • An excerpt from uncharted terriTORI was posted on the Today Show site.
  • Paul Johansson (Dan, One Tree Hill) is directing and starring in an adaptation of Atlas Shrugged.
  • SoapNet has a new One Tree Hill quiz called Test Your Dan Scott I.Q. I scored a 90 percent and was told “YOU’RE DANGEROUS! You know too much about Dan Scott for his comfort. Arm yourself, or take a page out of Abby Brown’s book and hightail it out of Tree Hill before he confronts you” but I don’t think all the answers are accurate.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl and More

5 01 2010
  • As of tomorrow at 4pm, SoapNet will begin reairing One Tree Hill’s first season.
  • MTV summed up the latest news on The Notebook musical, which Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill) talked about in the podcast I posted yesterday.
  • Matt Barr (Ian “Psycho Derek” Banks, One Tree Hill) will appear on Friday Night Lights. Have you read my interview with him?
  • Starpulse has a brief interview with Ryan Eggold (Ryan, 90210).
  • Jessica Walter (Tabitha, 90210) voices a character in Archer, a new animated show on FX premiering next week.
  • On Sunday, SoapNet is airing This Time Around, which stars Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • SoapCentral has an interesting article on Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) possibly returning to General Hospital. The article also mentions Marcil starring in the webseries The Bannen Way, which also features Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.).
  • Jezebel has a look at the Gossip Girl comic book/graphic novel.
  • Blair (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) is out of the Girl on Top tournament.
  • Josh Schwartz (creator, Gossip Girl & The O.C.) is now on Twitter. Added him to the Twitter Directory.
  • Worth noting, as Zap2it did, that The Secret Life of the American Teenager, starring Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.), and Make It Or Break It, produced by Paul Stupin (executive producer, Dawson’s Creek), did significantly better in the ratings last night than Gossip Girl and 90210 typically do.

News Roundup: 90210, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and The O.C.

31 12 2009
  • Noticed that the finalized artwork for the Beverly Hills Season 9 DVD is significantly different from the preliminary art, and both are significantly different from the original photo. First the original photo was altered to photoshop in Luke Perry (Dylan). Then they decided to also add in Vanessa Marcil (Gina) and cut out Vincent Young (Noah). This makes the second season in a row with Young missing from the cover art, even though he was a regular the entire season, unlike Perry, Marcil and even Jason Priestley (Brandon) and Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie). Missing in all three photos, however, is Daniel Cosgrove (Matt) who was also a regular that season, albeit not from the beginning (though he is in one of the faded background images). Expect me to still be griping about this when the set is released on February 2nd.
  • ABC News has an interview with Candy Spelling (wife of Aaron, mother of Tori; Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Digital Spy has an interview with Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210). Some of it is outdated for us, since the show is just premiering in the country where the site is based. Most interesting is that he says he’s pretty sure there’s going to be a season 3–and then is bold enough to say the show could last “four or five years.”
  • They also have an interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210), which also covers things we’ve already seen but also has spoilers.
  • MTV made New Year’s resolutions for Ryan (Ryan Eggold, 90210), Dan (Paul Johansson, One Tree Hill) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen, Gossip Girl). Zap2it and The Wrap have good resolutions for The CW.
  • Star News has a brief article on Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) and the amazing work he’s been doing on One Life to Live. It’s truly remarkable.
  • Blair (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) is still in the running in the Girl on Top tournament.
  • You can vote for Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) and Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) as the stars you would kiss on New Year’s Eve.
  • The new season of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, starring Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.), premieres Monday on ABC Family.

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, The O.C. and More

15 04 2009
  • Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) is fighting back rumors that she’s anorexic.
  • There’s a small photo of Tori in the April 20th issue of PEOPLE, highlighting her return to 90210.
  • There are two video interviews with Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) posted at The CW Source.  They also have a Tori-related video that they got from somewhere else, I think.
  • TV Guide Magazine has an interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210).
  • Diablo Cody talks about her 90210 appearance in this interview.
  • The Los Angeles Times also thought that the Dr. Pepper placement was a bit too much in last night’s 90210.
  • Brian Austin Green’s (David, Beverly Hills 90210) Terminator show is pretty much canceled, according to Ausiello. So maybe we’ll see him on 90210 next season?
  • Baltimore viewers were accidentally treated to an episode of Gossip Girl when they tuned in to watch 24 and House!
  • E!Online has a Gossip Girl sneak peek.
  • The Michigan Tech Lode has a pretty scathing review of Gossip Girl.
  • Ivanka Trump (daughter of Donald) is quoted in the 4/20 issue of PEOPLE that Gossip Girl is “a total parody, but I find it to be unbelievably funny.”
  • Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) came in second in that PEOPLE.com poll asking which actor should take Zac Efron’s place in Footloose.
  • Teen drama worlds are colliding again!  Cam Gigandet (Volchok, The O.C.) will play Leighton Meester’s (Blair, Gossip Girl) boyfriend in The Roommate.
  • Just figured out now that Shailene Woodley from The Secret Life of the American Teenager was the original Kaitlin on The O.C.
  • The CW Source has a poll asking which One Tree Hill actor is the most “fashion-forward.”
