News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More

5 08 2010
  • According to a new study, the median age of One Tree Hill viewers is 30. Gossip Girl’s is 27 and 90210 is 31.
  • PopWrap has an interview with Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill).
  • Interview has a short, um, interview with Joe Manganiello (Owen, One Tree Hill).
  • Examiner.com has an interview with Allison Scagliotti (Abby, One Tree Hill).
  • RENT at the Hollywood Bowl, featuring Aaron Tveit (Tripp, Gossip Girl), premieres tomorrow night. Broadway World has a fabulous video interview with Tveit and some of the other stars, plus director Neil Patrick Harris. Devastated that I can’t see it.
  • Kathleen Robertson (Clare, Beverly Hills 90210) sold a pilot script to (the Canadian) network Global. Called “Your Time Is Up,” Robertson plans to also star in and produce it.
  • Per the above article, the film “A Night For Dying Tigers” features Robertson and will screen at the Toronto Film Festival.
  • Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) will be on The Wendy Williams Show tomorrow.
  • The trailer for Burlesque, which features Christina Aguilera (music guest-star, Beverly Hills 90210), Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl), Peter Gallagher (Sandy, The O.C.) and Cam Gigandet (Volchok, The O.C.), was released. It also stars Eric Dane, husband to Rebecca Gayheart (Toni, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.) tweeted that she is trying to finish her college degree. She’s getting a BA in theater.
  • PopWrap has an entertaining interview with Reeser.
  • Doug Liman (executive producer, The O.C.) is directing a pilot for MTV called “I Want My Pants Back” as part of a two-year development deal that he and his company Hypnotic, which was also behind The O.C., signed with Universal Cable Productions.
  • Kristin has a fun video interview with Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) where he reiterates his thoughts on Pacey-Con and potentially appearing on The Vampire Diaries, which is executive produced by Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek). Jackson also finds out in the video that James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) got married. Can’t decide if I’m surprised or not surprised that he didn’t know.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More

29 07 2010
  • The CW had an event today, similar to the upfront, for the TCA (Television Critics Association), a somewhat-selective organization of television journalists. CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff spoke and took questions before separate panels for Nikita, Hellcats and Gossip Girl.
  • The Futon Critic is reporting that Ostroff confirmed One Tree Hill has been given a full-season order for the upcoming season, but, as of this moment, I am not seeing other outlets reporting that.
  • Ostroff told Star News last night that OTH could be renewed after season 8, which Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) thinks is “fishy.” Today Ostroff said that it was too soon to discuss whether this is the final season.
  • Ostroff also said there WASN’T an alternate ending for OTH last season, in case the show wasn’t renewed. (Something I maintained all along, if you recall.)
  • Ostroff reiterated that the morning-after Nielsen ratings are not the only factor that is important to them when evaluating a show’s success (hence the renewals of Gossip Girl, 90210, etc.). TVByTheNumbers.com has an interesting piece reacting to this.
  • For more on the session with Ostroff, check out these live-blogs and recaps.
  • The Gossip Girl panel featured Ed Westwick (Chuck), Josh Schwartz (executive producer), Stephanie Savage (executive producer) and Joshua Safran (executive producer).
  • A preview of season 4 was shown and some spoilers were divulged. Taylor Momsen (Jenny) will be back (something else I’ve maintained all along), and the producers admitted that they have an idea of how the show will eventually end but said it’s a long time off.
  • For more on the Gossip Girl panel, check out these live-blogs and recaps. (Warning: spoilers included.)
  • Korbi has a spoiler-filled Q & A with Schwartz and Savage.
  • Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) was on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night.
  • Crawford spoke with MTV about Juliet (Katie Cassidy, Gossip Girl) and GG shooting in Paris, which he did not partake in.
  • AfterElton spoke with Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210), Michael Steger (Navid, 90210) and Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210) individually about the possibility that one of their characters will be the one that comes out this season. Interestingly enough, they each give contradictory stories on how everyone found out about the storyline.
  • Crushable’s interview with Lanter on the same topic is a bit contradictory, too, as he says he knows which character it is, but the above interviews seem to suggest they don’t know who it is, if I’m reading this all correctly. Oh, and there’s totally Lannie spoilers in that interview.
  • AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) spoke to Us Weekly about Kim and Khloe Kardashian’s guest appearance.
  • Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) performed a powerful monologue by Eve Ensler for MTV.
  • Rachel Bilson (Summer, The O.C.) will reprise her How I Met Your Mother role.
  • Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) hilariously spoke with MTV about Pacey-Con. LOL at the Jen-Con comment. I’m sure the reunion thing, though, will end up being blown way out of proportion by the media.

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210 and Dawson’s Creek

28 07 2010
  • Gossip Cop and I busted a rumor about Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and the rest of the cast alienating Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl).
  • Twelve, starring Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl), had a premiere event in New York City tonight.
  • Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl) spoke about being the face of the Material Girl clothing line and working with Madonna and her daughter Lourdes.
  • Lucas’ house on One Tree Hill is for sale.
  • There’s an interview with Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) in the new issue of TV Guide Magazine.
  • Self.com has a video interview with Burton.
  • Kelly Tenney (co-producer, One Tree Hill) did a video interview with Carol Cutshall (costume designer, One Tree Hill) for SoGoPro.
  • Details of Brian Austin Green’s (David, Beverly Hills 90210) role on Desperate Housewives were revealed at a TCA panel yesterday.
  • PEOPLE.com has an interview with Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie, Beverly Hills 90210) about her nursery, including more pictures and details than what were in the magazine last week.
  • Fanbolt has a really great interview with Thiessen on a variety of topics.
  • Gossip Cop and I busted another manipulative Life & Style cover story, which makes it looks like Katie Holmes (Joey, Dawson’s Creek) has confessed to them she’s pregnant, when in actuality she didn’t tell them anything like that and (shocker) she’s not pregnant! Grrr.
  • Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) says he’s willing to appear on The Vampire Diaries, which is executive produced by Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek).
  • RTE has an interview with Busy Philipps (Audrey, Dawson’s Creek).

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and Dawson’s Creek

27 07 2010
  • TVGuide.com has spoilers on the 90210 premiere. And let me just say: it’s been done before (on the original and another teen drama). And let me also say that with this and the spoilers from earlier today, I am significantly POed.
  • Luke Perry (Dylan, Beverly Hill 90210) will star in and executive produce Goodnight For Justice, a Hallmark Movie Channel film, which will be directed by Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210). Check out the press release while I try to resume breathing. Worth noting, though, that the plot is similar to one of Perry’s season 5 storylines.
  • MTV made a (funny to me, since they’ll likely never ever happen) list of projects Perry and Priestley should also team up on.
  • The Miami Herald has an interview with Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Nicole By OPI has launched a Gossip Girl-inspired line of nail polish.
  • Billy Baldwin (William, Gossip Girl) will reportedly have a recurring role on Parenthood, which also stars Peter Krause (Jay, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Chad Michael Murray (Lucas, One Tree Hill) will star in The Ex-Mas Carol, an ABCFamily movie.
  • The Conspirator, which features Cullen Moss (Junk, One Tree Hill) as discussed in our interview, will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
  • Examiner.com has an interview with Ashley Rickards (Sam, One Tree Hill).
  • Here is the aforementioned Pacey-Con video for FunnyorDie.com with Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek). Before I pass out from all of today’s excitement with my favorite teen drama guys, I have to say that vid was the best thing I’ve seen in a long, long time.

News Roundup: 90210, One Tree Hill, Dawson’s Creek and The O.C.

25 07 2010
  • Michael Steger (Navid, 90210) will appear on Covert Affairs, which also features Peter Gallagher (Sandy, The O.C.) and Emmanuelle Vaugier (Nicki, One Tree Hill) and is executive produced by Doug Liman (executive producer, The O.C.), Tuesday night.
  • Kelly and Donna’s beach apartment from Beverly Hills 90210 is still for sale.
  • Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie, Beverly Hills 90210) was on Lopez Tonight last week, either Thursday or Friday.
  • Call Me Fitz, starring Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210), will air in Latin America. Still no plans, to my knowledge, for it to air in the U.S.
  • Facebook deleted Bethany Joy Galeotti’s (Haley, One Tree Hill) page, thinking it was one of the fakes.
  • Apparently there was something called Pacey-Con 2010 at Comic-Con with Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek). Rumor has it a video will be on FunnyorDie.com sooner or later.
  • Busy Philipps (Audrey, Dawson’s Creek) is on the cover of the summer issue of Mom magazine.

News Roundup: 90210, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and More

10 07 2010
  • The Associated Press has an interesting article about filming at California schools, with references to Beverly Hills 90210/90210.
  • PEOPLE.com briefly spoke with Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) about hubby Dean McDermott’s recovery.
  • E! Online briefly spoke with Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) and Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill) about their recent trip to the Gulf.
  • Bush also spoke to OnTheRedCarpet.com about being eco-friendly.
  • Joe Manganiello (Owen, One Tree Hill), Josh Schwartz (creator, Gossip Girl; The O.C.), Paul Wesley (Donnie, The O.C.), Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek), Greg Berlanti (writer-producer, Dawson’s Creek) and Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) will all be at Comic-Con later this month.

14 06 2010
  • Gossip Girl led the Teen Choice 2010 nominations, earning six total. Gossip Girl and 90210 were both nominated for Choice TV Show: Drama. Penn Badgley (Dan, Gossip Girl), Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) and Tristan Wilds (Dixon, 90210) were all nominated for Choice TV Actor: Drama. The Choice TV Actress: Drama category featured all current and former teen drama stars: Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl), Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) and Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) along with Olivia Wilde (Alex, The O.C.) for House and Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.) for The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) was nominated for Choice TV Villain. Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl) was nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Romantic Comedy for When In Rome and Choice Movie Actress: Comedy for Couples Retreat while Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) and Rumer Willis (Gia, 90210) were both nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Horror/Thriller for Shutter Island and Sorority Row, respectively. Badgley and Adam Brody (Seth, The O.C.) were each nominated for Choice Movie Actor: Horror/Thriller for The Stepfather and Jennifer’s Body, respectively.
  • The CW Sourcies have begun and the first category is Best Kiss. From our shows, you can vote for Adrianna and Navid’s reunion kiss in the 90210 season finale or Haley and Nathan’s kiss in the One Tree Hill season finale after she reveals she’s pregnant.
  • SoapNet made a few changes to the Sunday teen drama schedule: The O.C. is getting two additional hours, now airing from 6-9am while Beverly Hills 90210 airs from 9am to 1pm and One Tree Hill from 3pm to 7pm. I’ve updated their show pages to reflect this.
  • MTV spoke with Kevin Zegers (Damien, Gossip Girl) about his upcoming film schedule, including The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, which will also star Hilary Duff (Olivia, Gossip Girl).

  • An excerpt from uncharted terriTORI was posted on the Today Show site.
  • Paul Johansson (Dan, One Tree Hill) is directing and starring in an adaptation of Atlas Shrugged.
  • SoapNet has a new One Tree Hill quiz called Test Your Dan Scott I.Q. I scored a 90 percent and was told “YOU’RE DANGEROUS! You know too much about Dan Scott for his comfort. Arm yourself, or take a page out of Abby Brown’s book and hightail it out of Tree Hill before he confronts you” but I don’t think all the answers are accurate.

Happy Birthday Joshua Jackson!

11 06 2010

Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) turns 32 today.

Stumbled across this video circa Jackson’s birthday last year, where they play Six Degrees with Jackson…and Jennifer Lopez.
