News Roundup: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and 90210

23 08 2010
  • TV Guide Magazine has a few Gossip Girl spoilers.
  • Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) is on the cover of Nylon’s September issue.
  • Interview has an, um, interview with Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl).
  • Everly, featuring Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill), has a new website.
  • Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill) has started a humorous (parody?) Twitter account under the name @SensitiveJulian.
  • Tristan Wilds (Dixon, 90210) tweeted that he started a blog.
  • The Beverly Hills 90210 Season 10 DVD will be released November 2. TVShowsOnDVD.com has a look at the cover art and reports that The Final Goodbye will be included as a bonus feature. (The set itself is being marketed as The Final Season, as opposed to The Tenth Season.) While I am happy that there are special features again (it’s the first time since season 4), I wonder if its inclusion and the timing of the release means there won’t be a complete series set. They are not only missing out on the opportunity to market it for Christmas, but to have it come out on a year of double anniversaries for the show. But I suppose anything is possible own the road. And at first I was thrilled to see what I thought was an authentic cover photo – as in, it was an original group photo with all of the tenth season’s regular cast members; no one was photoshopped in or out like in the past and the photo wasn’t otherwise altered in any way- but I doubled-checked and a Google search of the original photo shows they did make some subtle, needless changes. It’s pretty amazing: ten seasons, ten DVDs and not one with appropriate and/or unedited cover art! The photo on the top left also looks suspicious but I can’t say for sure without seeing the cover first-hand. Also, it’s interesting that there’s three pictures of Tori Spelling (Donna) on the front and another on the side. I mean, are two solo pics necessary? Really? Also, love how Vincent Young (Noah) went from being left off the covers for seasons 8 and 9, but gets two pictures on this one. Sigh.

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, 90210, and One Tree Hill

18 08 2010
  • The CW will have a fall preview at the Paley Center in Los Angeles on September 15, featuring a “premiere screening of a CW returning favorite” but it likely won’t be Gossip Girl, 90210 or One Tree Hill since they will all have premiered earlier that week.
  • Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) is on the cover of Interview’s September issue. The interview, conducted by her The Town co-star and director, Ben Affleck, is really great.
  • Hilary Duff (Olivia, Gossip Girl) is on the cover of OK! Magazine, giving the tab an exclusive about her recent wedding.
  • 90210 will soon air in India on the new Big CBS network. CBS Television Studios produces 90210, and the CBS Corporation owns 50 percent of The CW.
  • PopWrap has a spoiler-filled interview with Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210). One immediate thought (and I’ll admit I’m unfairly judging without seeing the episodes and just relying on what he said): I don’t know what this show has against continuity.
  • TVGuide.com reports that Michael Trucco (Cooper, One Tree Hill) could make another appearance on V.
  • Emmanuelle Vaugier (Nicki, One Tree Hill) is not on Twitter after all. A Covert Affairs associate producer has tweeted an apology for saying it is her when it is actually an impersonator. Uncool.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More

5 08 2010
  • According to a new study, the median age of One Tree Hill viewers is 30. Gossip Girl’s is 27 and 90210 is 31.
  • PopWrap has an interview with Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill).
  • Interview has a short, um, interview with Joe Manganiello (Owen, One Tree Hill).
  • Examiner.com has an interview with Allison Scagliotti (Abby, One Tree Hill).
  • RENT at the Hollywood Bowl, featuring Aaron Tveit (Tripp, Gossip Girl), premieres tomorrow night. Broadway World has a fabulous video interview with Tveit and some of the other stars, plus director Neil Patrick Harris. Devastated that I can’t see it.
  • Kathleen Robertson (Clare, Beverly Hills 90210) sold a pilot script to (the Canadian) network Global. Called “Your Time Is Up,” Robertson plans to also star in and produce it.
  • Per the above article, the film “A Night For Dying Tigers” features Robertson and will screen at the Toronto Film Festival.
  • Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) will be on The Wendy Williams Show tomorrow.
  • The trailer for Burlesque, which features Christina Aguilera (music guest-star, Beverly Hills 90210), Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl), Peter Gallagher (Sandy, The O.C.) and Cam Gigandet (Volchok, The O.C.), was released. It also stars Eric Dane, husband to Rebecca Gayheart (Toni, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.) tweeted that she is trying to finish her college degree. She’s getting a BA in theater.
  • PopWrap has an entertaining interview with Reeser.
  • Doug Liman (executive producer, The O.C.) is directing a pilot for MTV called “I Want My Pants Back” as part of a two-year development deal that he and his company Hypnotic, which was also behind The O.C., signed with Universal Cable Productions.
  • Kristin has a fun video interview with Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) where he reiterates his thoughts on Pacey-Con and potentially appearing on The Vampire Diaries, which is executive produced by Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek). Jackson also finds out in the video that James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) got married. Can’t decide if I’m surprised or not surprised that he didn’t know.
