News Roundup: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210 and Dawson’s Creek

30 07 2010
  • Warner Brothers on DVD released a bunch of clips that will be on the Gossip Girl Season 3 DVD and One Tree Hill Season 7 DVD next month.
  • Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill) tweeted that Beautiful Boy, which features him, will screen at the Toronto Film Festival.
  • There is a second part to the Kelly Tenney (co-producer, One Tree Hill) video interview with Carol Cutshall (costume designer, One Tree Hill).
  • Star News has an interview with Craig Sheffer (Keith, One Tree Hill). He doesn’t seem too fond of his character, which is sad considering how beloved Keith is by fans.
  • AfterElton is reporting they believe they know which male character is coming out this season 90210. I do not know if their information is accurate; it could be.
  • Call Me Fitz, starring Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210), will premiere September 19 in Canada.
  • TNT has renewed Leverage, which stars Christian Kane (Nick, Dawson’s Creek), and Rizzoli & Isles, which stars Sasha Alexander (Gretchen, Dawson’s Creek) and features Jordan Bridges (Oliver, Dawson’s Creek).

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Melissa: When does voting end for the CW Awards?
Voting is open for the next week, and we’ll announce the winners of the second annual CW Awards on Monday, Feb. 8. Good luck everybody!

Emily in Tallahassee, Fla.: I’m not expecting a big makeout scene, but is there any hint of Olivia/Peter coming up in Fringe?
Ahem. Everybody must watch this week’s Fringe (but especially you Emily in Tallahassee, Fla.) even if you’ve been wavering a bit on that series. Something that we’ve been waiting to see since the pilot finally (finally!) happens. The scenes in question are totally gratifying (albeit rushed a bit, when this subplot might have been better served with a little foreplay preamble), but then what we are given is snatched away again, in totally heartbreaking and perfect TV form. Excellent work, Bad Robots. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Lamar in Dahoga, Pa.: Can you tell us anything about Leverage? It’s such an underrated series.
Luke Perry
guest stars as a clairvoyant con man on this week’s ep, and fans of the former heartthrob will not be disappointed. Most of Perry’s scenes are with Jeri Ryan, and Luke just can’t say enough about her. “Jeri Ryan and I had a great time. When you’re the guest cast, you never really know how it’ll be, but it was good,” he tells us. Obviously it’s Leverage, so they tend to catch the bad guy in the end, but might Luke be back again? Here’s what he says: “I just sort of play it as it comes. But we may get together on something down the road.” And there you have it.

Notes:

I posted about The CW Awards last week.

Peter on Fringe is played Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek). If you go to the actual webpage, they included a picture of him.

Perry played Dylan on Beverly Hills 90210 and Jeri Ryan played Charlotte on The O.C. Leverage also stars Christian Kane (Nick, Dawson’s Creek).

Spoiler: Ask Ausiello

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!
Question: Could you give us more details about Blair and Chuck’s break-up on Gossip Girl? —Larissa
Ausiello:
Blame Jack Bass. It’s all his fault.

Question: Anything on Leverage? —Bill
Ausiello:
Luke Perry changes zip codes in the Feb. 3 episode to play a smarmy psychic who is more swindler than soothsayer. The team must pit con-job against con-job to expose him, especially after a cold reading leaves Parker in tears. And in the Feb. 17 season finale, Hutton and Co. try to take down a dangerous weapons dealer, all while the FBI inches closer and closer to catching them. Some unexpected friends (and enemies) will return, and others will make their exit.
