Amy in Pittsburgh: So excited Gossip Girl is back in production! What can you tell us?!
Sorry, Hilary Duff haters, but Duff joins the Gossip Girl cast as movie star Olivia, and she’ll be getting her movie-star cooties on the entire cast, not just Vanessa and Dan. Also on Gossip Girl this season, Chuck and Blair are totally getting married and having a million babies. (OK, not that, but they are staying tight. Yay!) And believe it or not, the show really is trending away from “Dan and Serena are the one true pairing of Gossip Girl.” Certainly, that arc might turn back sometime in the future, but for now the show is trying to establish their separate identities, apart from their on-again, off-again shenanigans. As far as Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) and Annie (Shenae Grimes) being best buds in the second season (something some of you would like to see), AnnaLynne says, “Never. Not going to happen. I’m sorry. I wish.”

Michael Steger tells us, “They’re talking about renovating the Blaze newsroom, so it’s going to be where everything happens and everybody meets up. They’re going to make it very loungey, very comfortable.” (The Blaze newsroom is where we’ll meet Rumer Willis‘ character when she guests in a season-two episode.)

GOSSIP GIRL

1. Georgina Sparks (played by Michelle Trachtenberg)

Only a teen and already a wild child, Georgina relies on alcohol and lies to make sure she gets her way–which usually means screwing over nemesis Serena (Blake Lively).  Among her heinous acts: pretending to be someone else and blackmail.

2. Gossip Girl (voiced by Kristen Bell)

She/he is the source of many problems in the halls of Constant Billard and St. Judes.  By simply exposing damaging secrets via text or her blog, Gossip Girl’s identity remains a mystery.

I debated whether or not to included Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) as villains but ultimately decided not to as I think they have many more redeeming qualities to them than any of the others I included on my list.

I think we can all agree that there are no outright villains on 90210 (yet) so my list ends here.

  • The New York Post is reporting that Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) and Sebastian Stan (Carter, Gossip Girl) may be engaged.
  • PEOPLE.com has a story on Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) celebrating his birthday last night.
  • Zap2it posted pictures of AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) and Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210) hanging out.
  • The Blink-182 cover story in the July issue of Alternative Press features not one but two teen drama references.  First, Mark Hoppus (when talking about getting the band back together) said they had to make like “Beverly Hills 90210 and squash it,”  a reference to episode 5.27.  Second, Tom DeLonge said it was right after he filmed the Angels and Airwaves appearance on One Tree Hill (episode 6.10) that he found out about Travis Barker’s plane accident.

No one has snagged that role yet. Alexis doesn’t appear in the first episode of One Tree Hill season seven, so producers are takin’ their time to find the right person.

Nanda in New York City: Help us, TV Gossip Girl: Do you have any good Chuck and Blair spoilers? Please?!
You Gossip Girl fans can all exhale: Chuck and Blair aren’t breaking up any time soon.

Debbie in San Diego: Any idea who Annie hit with her car on 90210?
AnnaLynne McCord tells us the 90210 cast just found out last week, and “It’s really bad.” Hit the comments with your guesses as to who it is or who you want it to be! As for Naomi in the upcoming second season, AnnaLynne teases, “Obviously there was a horrible ending for poor Naomi. She is over Liam, and she is over Annie. She goes through the first half of the season really trying to prove that to herself. I don’t think she’s really over him, but we’ll see that push and pull.” Speaking of Liam, Matt Lanter spills, “We’re going to get into his family life a little bit more. It’s 90210 so I’m sure there are going to be some new romances and some jealousy and backstabbing.”

Question: There’s a spoiler floating around that says Chuck is going to bring home a girl in the Gossip Girl season premiere. Does this mean that he cheats on Blair? Or, even worse, that they broke up over the summer? –Fernanda
Ausiello: While it’s true that Blair catches Chuck, ahem, connecting with a model in the Sept. 14 opener, all is not as it appears.

Question: Any news on Gossip Girl? What’s in store for Serena? –Sara
Ausiello: She’ll be motherless for the first batch of episodes due to Kelly Rutherford’s maternity leave.

Question: 90210 scoop, please? –Darren
Ausiello: As you may have heard through the ‘vine, the teens at West Beverly High will be given a hot summer hangout with the C-dub bringing back the Beverly Hills Beach Club. Much like the original — which was a favorite hangout of Kelly and Brenda, as well as the place where both Brandon and Dylan worked — the new beach-side club will feature a bevy of hot new characters. I mean, it’s not really a beach unless there’s some skin to burn, right?

Question: Is Dustin Milligan not returning to 90210 at all next season? –Becky
Ausiello: Nope. We’ll learn in the Sept. 8 season premiere (via gratuitous exposition) that Ethan decided to stay in Montana with his pa.

Question: There have been rumors that Danneel Harris is returning as Rachel on One Tree Hill in the season 7. Is this true? –Cameron
Ausiello: The rumors are true. Rachel will be back next season for an arc.

Question: Any idea what actress is slated to play the role of Haley’s sister Quinn on One Tree Hill? –Lila
Ausiello: According to this highly reputable journalist, relative newcomer Shantel VanSanten has landed the role.

  • SpoilerTV has some info on what new characters we may see on 90210 next season.
  • The CW has some new 90210 promos based on Annie (Shenae Grimes), Silver (Jessica Stroup), and Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes).
  • Episodes of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood will include footage of Tori (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) filming her appearances on 90210 earlier this year.
  • Serena (Blake Lively, Gossip Girl) and Blair (Leighton Meester) are up for Best Best Friends in the Tater Top Awards.
  • Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) has a photo spread in the new issue of GQ.
  • You can vote in a PEOPLE.com poll on who you would rather date–Westwick or Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl).
  • When the new seasons begin September 14, Gossip Girl will now air at 9pm on Mondays and One Tree Hill at 8pm.  The change will actually start in July when the shows are still in repeats. (90210 will start one week earlier on Sept. 8th)
  • One Tree Hill now has an official Twitter account.  They tweeted that Robert Buckley (Clayton, One Tree Hill) is included in PEOPLE’s Hottest Bachelors issue.
