  • Do any of you watch Skins?  The Washington Post says it makes Gossip Girl and 90210 “look like ‘Little House on the Prairie.'”
  • What do the 90210 stars, new and old, think about football and the Superbowl?  You can find out here.
  • Ouch!  A new article calls 90210 “spineless” and Gossip Girl “shallow.”  The article names Friday Night Lights the “teen drama MVP.”  If that’s right, apparently I should be covering it…
  • Michael Steger (Navid, 90210) has managed to keep a low-profile since the series began.  He opens up a teensy bit in this new article.
  • It’s not 90210 and sure ain’t General Hospital.  Instead, Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) is headed to Without a Trace.
  • The Boston Globe has a great article about Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek), her new movie Wendy and Lucy, and life after Heath.  You can read it here.

4. Gavin DeGraw (One Tree Hill, Episode 5.18: What Comes After the Blues)

DeGraw not only sings the show’s theme song and guest-starred in season 1 but he also makes an uncredited appearance in the intro to the season 5 finale.

3. Death Cab for Cutie (The O.C., Episode 2.20: The O.C. Confidential)

After being name-dropped countless times, Death Cab finally makes an appearance on the show.





Kerr Smith and Jensen Ackles in My Bloody Valentine

My Bloody Valentine, a horror film that opens today in 2D and 3D, stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek) and Jensen Ackles (C.J., Dawson’s Creek).

6. Jamie Walters (Beverly Hills 90210, Miscellaneous Episodes in Seasons 5 and 6)

True he appeared as the character Ray Pruitt, but Walters was playing original songs and released them on his own CD.

5. Christina Aguilera (Beverly Hills 90210, 10.2: Let’s Eat Cake)

Christina performs at the After Dark where the gang throws David a surprise birthday party.

  • So it IS true that Diablo Cody will be guest-starring on 90210!  You can read about it here, here and here!
  • Grant Show is up for making an appearance on 90210…if his character Jake can revive his his long-ago romance with Kelly (Jennie Garth)!
  • One of the show’s writers talks about Tori’s return here.
  • Watch with Kristin says there’s an “even” chance One Tree Hill will return for a seventh season.  Also in the article is a very interesting quote from Sophia Bush (Brooke) about once dating a current co-star (!) after splitting from Chad Michael Murray (Lucas).
  • James Van Der Beek (Dawson…duh!) will play a surporting role on a new pilot series called Eve Adams.

Rooney was the first band to play on The O.C., paving the way for others like T.I., The Killers and Modest Mouse.

7. Angels & Airwaves (One Tree Hill, 6.10 Even Fairy Tale Characters Would Be Jealous)

This episode is filled with performances from Mia (Kate Voegele), Enation and, of course, Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti).

Beginning as early as 1993 with Beverly Hills 90210, teen dramas have featured musical guests to drive up ratings or move a plot along. For the next 5 days, I’ll countdown the top 10 musical guests on Beverly Hills 90210, Dawson’s Creek, The O.C. and One Tree Hill.  90210 and Gossip Girl will not be included as they haven’t yet had any musical guests.

10.  Cathy Dennis (Beverly Hills 90210, Episode 3.27: A Night to Remember)

In these clips, you can see Dennis performing at the West Beverly prom.

9. Jem (The O.C., Episode 1.27: The Ties That Bind)

In the season one finale, Jem sings at Julie and Caleb’s wedding as Marissa and Ryan share a tear-filled dance.

  • More details have been released on Kelly Rutherford’s (Lily, Gossip Girl) impending divorce and why her husband blames the show.
  • Dawn Ostroff, in talking about CW viewers: “Our fans really love some of that heightened drama, as you can see when you watch ‘One Tree Hill’ and ‘Gossip Girl.‘ So the job is both: to get them emotionally invested in the people and then do storylines that have twists and turns and surprises you never expected.”
  • There’s another Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210) story, similar to the one we posted last night.
  • And another Jessica Lowdnes (Adrianna, 90210) story.
