Spoiler: Ask Ausiello

Question: I heard that someone on 90210 is gonna die in the season finale. Who is it? –Isabela
It’s (drumroll, please) no one! At least not that I know of. In other news, Sara Foster has been cast as Naomi’s sister, Jen. She’ll debut in April and make a beeline for Mr. Matthews.

Question: You haven’t given us 90210 scoop in a while. Care to share some? –Derek
Word around the Peach Pit is that producers are once again pursuing Brian Austin Green for an episode. Timing may be in their favor: Sarah Connor Chronicles wrapped production last Friday.

Spoiler: Mega Buzz

Before Gossip Girl‘s cruelly long hiatus, a preview showed Uncle Jack telling Chuck what had happened between him and Blair on New Year’s. But the scene was cut from the episode, and now Jack is gone! Will this ever be brought up again? — H.C.
This reminds me of the time that my great-uncle Shorty, he of the “go-to-hell” pants, went missing at an ice-skating party. Fortunately, we just followed the Schnapps fumes down to his favorite thinking log and there he was, unconscious. Uncle Jack, on the other hand, is very much alive Down Under. My personal Gossip girl tells me we’ll revisit the Uncle F—a situation in a future episode, which doesn’t bode well for Blair. The real question: If we take that preview scene at face value, does that mean that Chuck already knows?

Fact or Fiction: CMM and Burton leaving OTH?

25 02 2009

Some sources say they are.

Some say they aren’t.

And some just don’t know.

With so little information out there, I really don’t know what to make of it. I’m hesitant to believe anything that doesn’t come from the network, the actors or Mark Schwahn.

It’s hard to believe Schwahn would be willing to, in good faith, continue the show without two of its leading characters.  He spent so much time building a show around Lucas and Peyton (as a couple and in their relationships with the other characters) that it doesn’t feel like it would still be One Tree Hill without them.

OTH defied the odds when it jumped ahead several years and managed not to get the death-sentence label of “jumping the shark.”  I don’t see them having that same kind of success if CMM and Burton leave.

What do you think?  Would it still be One Tree Hill without Lucas and Peyton?  If they are leaving, would you rather the series end with season 6?

Fun Fact

One Tree Hill’s seventh season renewal not only means it surpasses the length of time Dawson’s Creek filmed in Wilmington, but also that OTH now ranks as the second longest-running teen drama in history.

Brian Austin Green Un-Engaged!

24 02 2009

Better start lining up, single ladies.

Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) and Megan Fox (Transformers) have called off their engagement.

Good news for us.  Not so much for him.

Maybe now he’ll get back with babymama Vanessa Marcil (Gina)?

In case you were wondering, only one of the original 90210 guys–Jason Priestley–is currently married!
