I’m not surprised that Blake could nail the reading for Ben Affleck’s movie. Her whole family is in show business, isn’t it?
Great interview with Luke Perry. I haven’t seen many episodes of the old 90210, but he was good in it. Why are you glad that he’s not going to appear in the new one?
Yes, most (maybe all) of Blake’s family is in show business. But I don’t think that means she would definitely be good at acting or good in a specific role, especially one that required her to nail a Boston accent. Also, I think Affleck was caught off-guard (from what I also read in another article; I believe it was Esquire) because he hadn’t heard of her before and knew nothing about her when she auditioned.
To answer your second question and keep a long story short: the new 90210 has done a terrible, extremely insulting job at integrating original characters and their histories and past storylines. They’ve shown no respect for the original show whatsoever. I have no faith, then, that it would be any different with Perry. It would likely just be another disgrace.

gemma, we don’t know yet if there will be a season 8. Please don’t go out of your mind. =)
