RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: Who was the woman standing over Bart’s grave on Gossip Girl? Was it Chuck’s mom? –Randi
Ausiello:
First off, the grave stalker has a name, and it’s Laura Harring (The Shield). Second, yes, she will reveal herself to be the Bass family matriarch when GG returns in March. Something about this makes my impostor antennae go up, though. Call me a whore for stunt casting, but if and when Chuck’s mum returned from the dead, I always imagined producers would go for a big name. You know, like Michelle Forbes. Who’s with me?

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Krista in Lafayette Hill, Pa.: Is it true that the CW has decided to air the rest of the episodes of The Beautiful Life later this season? If for some miracle the ratings increased would they bring it back full time?
A representative for the CW tells us, “The status of unaired eps of The Beautiful Life is still to be determined.” My rock-solid source who knows about such things tells me: No truth whatsoever. Sorry, Mischa!

Drew in Walhalla, S.C.: I’m a freak for Chuck and Blair on Gossip Girl! Tell me they aren’t going to break up any time soon.
They aren’t. It’s actually Rufus and Lily’s relationship that will be in a very bad place until the end of the season. From what I understand, it all stems from a letter that Serena’s father is going to send her. And of course, it doesn’t help that Bart Bass is back in the mix!

Rebecca in Miami: How about some One Tree Hill scoop?
Skills is moving to Los Angeles. (Tear. You will be missed in Tree Hill!) Also, a new man may come between Brooke and Julian.

Randall in Ohio: How about some good stuff on 90210? I’ve been getting into it lately.
DVR alert: I’m hearing that episode 12 is going to be awesome. It all goes down at the Winter Wonderland dance, and an intervention takes place for Annie to get her to realize that Jasper is a bad guy. Hmmm, will she believe them? Also, Teddy has feelings for Silver and asks her out, but she rejects him. Wah-wah. Though we hear something will happen between the two later on.

Notes:

If you recall, The Beautiful Life starred Mischa Barton (Marissa, The O.C.).

We already saw Lily receive the letter from Serena’s father last week and the OTH stuff we already knew as well both from the episodes and spoilish info I posted.

There’s also been spoilish pictures of the Winter Wonderland dance circulating. Can’t remember if I posted them.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: 90210 scoop, please!
Ausiello:
Naomi’s going to tell a lie. No biggie, right? Wrong. This time, there will be major consequences.

Question: What’s this I’m hearing about Bart Bass returning from the dead on Gossip Girl? Is he alive or is it a flashback? —Fernanda
Ausiello: It’s neither. Totally unrelated question: Are you a fan of A Christmas Carol, Fernan?

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Rebecca: Spill it! Who’s the dead father who’s coming back? My money is on Christian Shephard of Lost!
Nope. It’s actually Bart Bass of Gossip Girl. How crazytown is that?! A source tells me that Robert John Burke (the senior Basshole) will be returning to the show in December, just in time to make it a very special Gossip Girl Christmas. P.S. When I hinted that “two blondes will be atwitter” I was referring to Lily Rhodes van der Woodsen Bass Humphrey and Gossip Girl herself (Kristen Bell), who will certainly Twitter the news!—but of course Serena also would count. Whaddya think of that twist?

Margo in New York: Will Carter be back on Gossip Girl? I loved him with Serena! And is Georgina gone for good?
My friends at the CW tell me there are currently no plans to bring back Carter (boo!). And Michelle Trachtenberg is starring in that other show that’s not Parks & Rec or Community and was just picked up by NBC (Mercy), so she’s otherwise occupied at the moment. We took your question to her, and she answered: “Georgina has taken a little trip. She’s gone off with who she thinks is a Russian prince. But as Georgina goes, you never see the end of her. She always comes back and torments.”

Marcellus: How about something on One Tree Hill? Give us some love!
Someone on One Tree Hill is going to try to commit suicide.

Get Ready for Gossip Girl Season 3!

13 09 2009

We’re days away from Gossip Girl’s season 3 premiere!

Here’s what you need to know about last season:

After a summer apart, Serena and Dan rekindle their romance but it doesn’t last and Serena begins dating Aaron.  Throughout the relationship, the bond she shares with Dan remains strong and she ends things with Aaron.  Dan and Serena *again* get back together and *again* split up, allowing Dan to have a fling with one of the teachers at Constance and Serena to briefly date the scheming Gabriel.  Dan and Serena attend prom together just as friends.

Serena’s friendship with Blair is off-and-on as well, with Blair jealous as Serena becomes an Upper East Side socialite and gets in to Yale.  The season ends with them reaffirming their bond as best friends (or is it frenemies?).

Serena and her mother Lily have a similar trajectory: their relationship is drama-free periodically but when it’s bad, it’s really bad with Lily purposefully having Serena arrested and Lily slowly owning up to her own wild past.

Lily’s past comes back to haunt her in more ways than one.  Despite being married to Bart Bass, she can’t hide her feelings with Rufus.  Bart unexpectedly dies, clearing the way for a Lily-Rufus reunion.  The joy is shortlived, however, when Rufus finds out they had a child years ago who Lily gave up for adoption.  Rufus, feeling betrayed, refuses to be with her and instead tries to track the boy down.  With Lily’s help, they find his family but are saddened to find out he died years earlier.  Lily and Rufus slowly find their way back together, with Rufus ready to propose.  The plans come to a halt, however, when Rufus finds out Lily was secretly funneling money into his account to help with Dan’s tuition.  Again feeling betrayed, Rufus ends things.  In the season finale, however, they both put their pride aside and get engaged.

Rufus spends a lot of the season struggling with daughter Jenny, who rebels against not only her family but also Constance and her friends.  She moves out of the Humphrey loft, has a fling with Nate, makes a questionable friend in Agnes (The O.C.’s Willa Ford) and faces off against Blair’s minions.  Blair hands down her Queen B title to Jenny, putting her in a position of power she never had before.

Chuck is surprisingly devastated when Bart dies, feeling abandoned by everyone.  His downward spiral includes plenty of girls, drugs and tears.  He inherits his father’s fortune which he briefly has to wrestle away from his uncle Jack.  He later finds both a mother figure and a business partner in Lily.

Blair comes back from her summer in Europe with a new boyfriend–Lord Marcus–but still nursing her broken heart from Chuck’s abandonment.  The two dance around their feelings all season, with Blair willing to say those three little words but Chuck refusing to.  In fact, Chuck insists his flirtation is just a game, devastating Blair.  But she doesn’t mope for too long, briefly getting back together with Nate.  She soon realizes that Nate is her “high school” boyfriend and she needs to move on.  Around this time, Chuck realizes he needs to admit his feelings or he’ll lose her forever–and he does.  The two finally exchange those three little words.

Nate starts off the season dating a married woman (who happens to be Lord Marcus’ step-mother and sometimes lover!) but the fling soon ends and Nate is left to tackle family problems.  He finds himself homeless after the government seizes his family’s assets since his father remains on the run from the first season.  When his father returns, Nate refuses to run away with him and instead convinces him to turn himself in to the FBI.  During the trying time, Vanessa’s there to help and the two end up getting back together.  The differences in their lifestyle become glaringly obvious when Nate’s grandfather exerts his influence over him, and things end between them, allowing him to briefly get back together with Blair (as mentioned above).  Nate and Vanessa salvage their friendship, agreeing to backpack across Europe together–but not before briefly meeting someone who happens to be Rufus and Lily’s long-lost son.

Everyone’s thrown for a loop when Georgina returns to the fold as a Born Again Christian.  She seeks forgiveness for her past transgressions but soon the evilness that lies within her is brought to the surface again.  She enrolls in NYU, where Blair and Dan will be going in the fall, and requests to be Blair’s roommate.

Serena, instead of preparing to go to Brown, takes off with Carter on a search for her father.

Does Serena find him?  Will Georgina and Blair end up as roommates?  Will Chuck and Blair last? And will Rufus and Lily find out their son is alive?

Come back tomorrow at 9pm eastern for my live-blog of the season 3 premiere!

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!
Please tell me the banana from last week’s racy episode of 90210 is replacing Annie as the show’s main character. At least it had appeal. Get it? Lee
MICKEY: Hey Lee, smell my flower. I’m sorry to say that Shenae Grimes will be sticking around. (Dustin Milligan, who plays Ethan, on the other hand, will not be.) If it helps, I’m hearing that Naomi’s special brand of emotional terrorism will again set its laser sights on Annie toward the end of the season. So, there’s that for you to anticipate. In the meantime, keep the banana out of it.

Will there be a continuation of Gossip Girl‘s storyline about Lily and Rufus’ child? Yankee
MICKEY: I had a college roommate who called me Yankee. I called him A–hole. For the Supremes fan in the house, the love child/never-meant-to-be will show up May 4 to wreak havoc on Lily and Rufus’ blissful, excitement-free union. I’m hearing it’s kind of cliff-hang-y, as the season’s final two episodes will tee up the Brittany Snow spin-off and reveal exactly what Bart Bass had in that envelope.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

“Gossip Girl” is finally back! It’s finally back! Can you tell me, have you seen tonight’s episode? Is it worth my overwhelming excitement? -Jill
It is. If you felt like “Gossip” was lacking a bit of luster in its episodes of late, you’ll be pleased to know that this evening’s hour delivers on several important levels: the wardrobe, the drama and the devilish wit. Granted, there is very little Chuck-Blair time, but the two characters have separate stories to contend with this week. They’ll butt heads quite a bit next Monday.

Korbs, How long is Ms. Carr (or should I call her Rachel?) sticking around on “Gossip Girl”? -Maggie
Not long. I think we’ll see the last of her tonight.

Anything on “Gossip Girl”? -Johann
Rufus and Lily are making a “past loves” list. Let’s just say the former Mrs. Bart Bass has been around the block… like 50 or 60 times more than Mr. Humphrey. And he’s a former band member who toured the country on a bus, so you know, that’s kinda bad. But instead of just owning it, Lily may decide to cover her tracks.

If Nate and Blair are getting back together, what about Chuck? How will he deal with it? -Remy

By scheming to break them up, obv.

Hey Korbi!  Any new “90210″ news?  Will Ethan and Annie be over forever?  He was so cool before stupid Rhonda! -David
Really? I thought Rhonda was good for Ethan. She turned him on to a more introspective side and the kid was in need of some depth, don’t you think? But to answer your question, Ethan and Annie will still be together when the show returns in two weeks… although that won’t last. And I don’t see them reconciling anytime soon. Certainly not this season.

Why has “90210” been off the air for so long? WTF? -Michelle

Because “9-0” started its season almost a month before most fall shows debuted, they had to make up for it by taking a few extra weeks off. Also, because the country’s switch to digital was supposed to take place in February, The CW’s schedulers tried to avoid that entire month.

Meet Uncle Jack Bass!

As if you needed another reason to watch Gossip Girl tonight (8/7c on The CW or your local affiliate), this is the first time we’ll meet Jack Bass, Bart’s brother and Chuck’s uncle.

Jack (played by Demond Harrington) comes to the Upper East Side to help locate Chuck who’s been MIA since his father’s funeral.
