RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

When is Gossip Girl going to give Jenny a better story line? — Clarice
MICKEY: Do you hear the Constance girls screaming, Clarice? That’s because Little J was named the new Queen Bee in the season finale. We recently asked Topsy Mopsy, er, Taylor Momsen how she’d fill Blair’s headband. “You know what, I hope she’s a bad queen bee!” she told us. “I’m sure [the writers will] find a way to tie it all together.” My unsolicited idea: Jenny needs a bf who charms Rufus while he corrupts her. She needs to earn that eye makeup!

Will One Tree Hill bring back Rachel now that Peyton and Lucas are gone? — Fernando
Will Robert Buckley be shirtless on One Tree Hill? — Sarah
MATT: Yes, Fernando, Danneel Harris is returning for a handful of episodes as Rachel, though I’m not entirely sure why. Maybe the not-quite-reformed bad girl will become Brooke’s new BFF? What I do know is that Rachel is part of a “great storyline,” says a source. To Sarah, I also have good news for you: Count on plenty of bare-chested Buckley, as he plays Nathan’s sports agent.

Mickey’s Mini Rant: This rant is pre-emptive: Casting Rumer Willis (who I’m sure is an awesome actor) as a lesbian reporter — particularly in the wake of the “bisexual cheerleader” debacle of 2008 — reeks of tokenism. Yes, Nine-Oh needs to diversify its canvas, but is a high-profile, one-episode gig the way to do it?

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, 90210 and Dawson’s Creek

7 07 2009
  • PEOPLE.com has a poll asking whose hairdo’ you like better: Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) or Zac Efron.
  • InStyle has a short article on Crawford’s new look.
  • PEOPLE.com also has another poll asking “which starlet do you want to watch on The CW?” with the options being Hilary Duff (Olivia, Gossip Girl), Rumer Willis (Gia, 90210) or Ashlee Simpson (Melrose Place).
  • As I could’ve told you all along (which is why I didn’t post anything suggesting it), AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) and Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) are not together!
  • I don’t think Dawson’s Creek is on TV anywhere anymore (sniff sniff) but I just found this site that has a couple of episodes you can watch from the first 3 seasons.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Amy in Pittsburgh: So excited Gossip Girl is back in production! What can you tell us?!
Sorry, Hilary Duff haters, but Duff joins the Gossip Girl cast as movie star Olivia, and she’ll be getting her movie-star cooties on the entire cast, not just Vanessa and Dan. Also on Gossip Girl this season, Chuck and Blair are totally getting married and having a million babies. (OK, not that, but they are staying tight. Yay!) And believe it or not, the show really is trending away from “Dan and Serena are the one true pairing of Gossip Girl.” Certainly, that arc might turn back sometime in the future, but for now the show is trying to establish their separate identities, apart from their on-again, off-again shenanigans. Is that great news or the worst thing you’ve ever heard? Post in the comments!

Gervase in Montreal, Quebec: Thanks for the interview with Blake Lively about Papa van der Woodsen. Are we actually going to see Serena’s dad this season on Gossip Girl?
TV Diva’s Magic 8-ball says: It is decidedly so. We will finally meet Serena’s dad this season on Gossip Girl.

Cristina in Teaneck, N.J.: Will Adrianna and Naomi reconcile with Annie on 90210?
As far as Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) and Annie (Shenae Grimes) being best buds in the second season (something some of you would like to see), AnnaLynne says, “Never. Not going to happen. I’m sorry. I wish.”

Marianne in Toluca Lake, Calif.: Any scoop on 90210? I’m in for the long haul.
Michael Steger
tells us, “They’re talking about renovating the Blaze newsroom, so it’s going to be where everything happens and everybody meets up. They’re going to make it very loungey, very comfortable.” (The Blaze newsroom is where we’ll meet Rumer Willis‘ character when she guests in a season-two episode.)

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, Dawson’s Creek and More

3 07 2009
  • Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) reportedly has a children’s book coming out.
  • According to Access Hollywood, Rumer Willis (daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis) will appear in at least one episode of 90210.
  • E! Online is speculating on who could be cast as the father of Serena (Blake Lively, Gossip Girl) and Eric (Connor Paolo, Gossip Girl) on GG.  They have a poll on it as well.
  • Celebuzz is refuting a report that Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) and Sebastian Stan (Carter, Gossip Girl) are engaged.
  • Just re-found a column bout Gossip Girl that appeared in my (now former) college paper.  Interesting read.
  • Examiner.com has a short story on Wilmington, North Carolina where One Tree Hill films and where Dawson’s Creek did as well.
  • Another Katie Holmes (Joey, Dawson’s Creek)/So You Think You Can Dance update: she will be on the 100th episode, which airs July 23.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Maggie in Birmingham, Ala.: Can you shed any light on this hectic One Tree Hill situation?
Despite Chad Michael Murray‘s claim that, “They haven’t even called me up to say, ‘Hey we want you back…nothing,’ ” CMM’s people are in negotiations with the One Tree Hill studio. Sounds like we can all brace ourselves for a cliffhanger ending to season six.

Tamara in New York City: Gossip Girl fan here. I want Blair and Chuck scoop!
Tonight’s C-B kiss (yes, kiss!) on Gossip Girl is wildly hot and happens in the midst of a totally classic Bluck confrontation scene. You could even call it Blucking up against a wall! Truly, if your devotion to the Chair relationship includes any kind of tolerance for “angst,” this is the episode for you. As for you Chuck-Blair hard-liners (you want it and you want it now), the kiss is not the kind of loving reconciliation you’re hoping for. In fact, by the end of the episode, Blair and Nate’s new thing is well underway. Sad face.

Samantha in Pomona, Calif.: How about some scoop on Rufus and Lily for once!
Rufus and Lily are giving Gossip Girl a Lost-style TiVo moment. They decide to make lists of their past sexual assignations, and Lily’s list includes such rock star names as Slash and Trent Reznor. Save the screengrabs as a keepsake checklist for when the show-not-called-Lily premieres!

Mike: Any news on what’s up for Nate on Gossip Girl?
Nate’s the center of tonight’s episode, and hey, it turns out that he’s actually New York political royalty. And as Spider-Man and the Kennedys already know, with great power comes great responsibility but not enough time for loved ones. Will Nate’s family obligations mean the end of his love affair with V? Tune in tonight to find out!

Steve in Santa Monica, Calif.: What’s James Van Der Beek up to these days? I miss him on the small screen.
The former Dawson’s Creek hottie will appear on the April 6 episode of Medium as “a very strange” son of a mother who’s gone missing. We love it when Dawson goes dark. Did you see him in Criminal Minds a few years back? Creepy-sexy cool! (Added bonus for this episode, Amanda Detmer guest stars as Joe’s sister. Yay!) In other guest star news, Rumer Willis appears in the episode “The First Bite Is the Deepest.” What we love about that is that show runner Glenn Gordon Caron gets to work with the daughter of the star of one of his biggest shows, Bruce Willis (Moonlighting). Cool, huh?
