RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: Any news on the CW drama Body Politic? Will it be picked up for mid-season? –Corinne
Ausiello:
It won’t. But I keep hearing rumors that one of the show’s stars may find work on another high-profile CW drama. If it happens, and all of my sources insist it probably won’t, it would create quite the hububaloo.

Question: Why did The CW kill the Gossip Girl spin-off? –Tammy
Ausiello:
I’m told the higher-ups never embraced the whole ’80s conceit. I’m also told the reason CW boss Dawn Ostroff stopped short of declaring the project dead last week was because there’s a chance it could be reconceived down the road.

****

Note: I think the first question is referring to whether Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) will appear on the new 90210.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

You made a potentially sarcastic remark about Gossip Girl‘s Serena and Nate happening. I need to know if there is anything to that remark, because I am more hopeful than I should be about Serenate finding their way back together. Please help! — Megan
MICKEY: Hope springs eternal, Megan! I will downgrade my previous sarcastic remark to say that the possibility of Serenate is alive and well through the end of the season. But Serena’s season-finale suitor is someone entirely different — and surprising. If it’s a happy ending you’re looking for, forget it. Though Blair hears some magic words, her fall is looking increasingly shrouded in dread. Welcome to NYU, B.!

Will One Tree Hill‘s “Leyton” be back next season with mini Leyton? — Nicole
MATT:
Alas, in the days since you sent in this question, the CW confirmed that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton will not be returning for Season 7. The silver lining is that the actors’ final outing is a solid one. TVGuide.com’s Robyn Ross, who screened the May 18 season finale, reports that the hour “wraps things up in a little bow with no shockers to leave us hanging. Old faces were back, and dreams were truly realized. Perhaps it could’ve served better as a series finale, because I’d love to think this is the way these stories would have ended.”

Let’s talk 90210who’s gonna die? — Matty
MICKEY:
Before I tell you who dies, let me ask you this, Matty: Ever see the movie Carrie? Because it’s prom time at West Bev, and Annie is doing her best Sissy Spacek impression for us. It’s harrowing; you might even say she is driven to do some very uncharacteristic things, like maybe even kill someone! Who? It’s hard to say exactly, but in the same episode, Adrianna makes a choice, Ethan makes a declaration, and Liam makes a mistake — all three of which are life-changing.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: 90210 has gotten really good lately. How can the show get people to tune back in? Also, I have a feeling the CW might pair 90210 and the new Melrose Place together next season. If they do, would it be a smart move?—Derek

Matt Roush: By now, I’m thinking most people have already decided whether they’re into the new 90210 or not, at least for this season. But the CW would be smart to keep the show in repeat rotation during the summer in hopes of attracting new or lapsed viewers, and even smarter if it presented some new episodes during the off-season to increase its exposure. It worked for the original 90210, which didn’t really take off until Fox jump-started the second season with new episodes in July and August. I would bet that the CW will do some sort of stunt to launch Melrose Place using 90210 as a springboard (again, echoing Fox), but the network may also want to use this remake to anchor another night (maybe Wednesday) instead of putting all of its retro eggs in one basket. But looking at what the CW has to work with, airing 90210 and Melrose as a two-hour guilty-pleasure block makes sense to me.
