RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

You made a potentially sarcastic remark about Gossip Girl‘s Serena and Nate happening. I need to know if there is anything to that remark, because I am more hopeful than I should be about Serenate finding their way back together. Please help! — Megan
MICKEY: Hope springs eternal, Megan! I will downgrade my previous sarcastic remark to say that the possibility of Serenate is alive and well through the end of the season. But Serena’s season-finale suitor is someone entirely different — and surprising. If it’s a happy ending you’re looking for, forget it. Though Blair hears some magic words, her fall is looking increasingly shrouded in dread. Welcome to NYU, B.!

Will One Tree Hill‘s “Leyton” be back next season with mini Leyton? — Nicole
MATT:
Alas, in the days since you sent in this question, the CW confirmed that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton will not be returning for Season 7. The silver lining is that the actors’ final outing is a solid one. TVGuide.com’s Robyn Ross, who screened the May 18 season finale, reports that the hour “wraps things up in a little bow with no shockers to leave us hanging. Old faces were back, and dreams were truly realized. Perhaps it could’ve served better as a series finale, because I’d love to think this is the way these stories would have ended.”

Let’s talk 90210who’s gonna die? — Matty
MICKEY:
Before I tell you who dies, let me ask you this, Matty: Ever see the movie Carrie? Because it’s prom time at West Bev, and Annie is doing her best Sissy Spacek impression for us. It’s harrowing; you might even say she is driven to do some very uncharacteristic things, like maybe even kill someone! Who? It’s hard to say exactly, but in the same episode, Adrianna makes a choice, Ethan makes a declaration, and Liam makes a mistake — all three of which are life-changing.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: 90210 has gotten really good lately. How can the show get people to tune back in? Also, I have a feeling the CW might pair 90210 and the new Melrose Place together next season. If they do, would it be a smart move?—Derek

Matt Roush: By now, I’m thinking most people have already decided whether they’re into the new 90210 or not, at least for this season. But the CW would be smart to keep the show in repeat rotation during the summer in hopes of attracting new or lapsed viewers, and even smarter if it presented some new episodes during the off-season to increase its exposure. It worked for the original 90210, which didn’t really take off until Fox jump-started the second season with new episodes in July and August. I would bet that the CW will do some sort of stunt to launch Melrose Place using 90210 as a springboard (again, echoing Fox), but the network may also want to use this remake to anchor another night (maybe Wednesday) instead of putting all of its retro eggs in one basket. But looking at what the CW has to work with, airing 90210 and Melrose as a two-hour guilty-pleasure block makes sense to me.

Breaking News: CMM and Burton Reportedly Leaving One Tree Hill

12 05 2009

We’ve been waiting for months to find out if it was true, and now Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello is saying it is.

Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) and Hilarie Burton (Peyton) will not return to One Tree Hill next season.

Ausiello says the official announcement won’t come til next week.

I’ll believe it then!

UPDATE: TVGuide.com says they received confirmation from The CW that neither Murray nor Burton will return.  Korbi at Zap2it says the same.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Lindsey in Boston: Anything you can share about the Gossip Girl finale?
You know how we saw those Gossip Girl set photos where Blair kissed both Chuck and Nate on the street? One of them was a total fake-out. Teehee! In other finale news, Little J comes into her own (and there’s a nice rapprochement between her and Blair), Gossip Girl calls Nate a whore, you won’t realize Lily-Rufus spawn is already there until the very last minute and there’s a hint that several familiar background faces might become recurring or even regular characters in season three. (We’ll tell you more about the realistic prospects for those recurrences after you’ve all seen the finale on May 18.)

Lyla in Dallas: I need to know more about the One Tree Hill finale!
Are we sure this is a season (not series) finale? Because we’ve seen the last ep of One Tree Hill for this year, and all the storylines end so darn pleasantly! It’s positively unnerving! What do you want to know specifically? Email us with specific requests, and we’ll tease what we can later this week.

Emily in Philadelphia: Is anything going to happen between Liam and Annie on 90210?
Liam makes fun of Annie in the 90210 finale, but there’s nothing genuinely flirtatious going on. However, Liam definitely does have sex with someone who’s not Naomi! Ethan and Silver, by the way, totally connect in this last episode. Could that be the beginning of a short-lived somethin’-somethin’?

New 90210 tonight!

YouTube Video of the Week

10 05 2009

Most of this video has nothing to do with teen dramas.  But at :20 to :56, it has the best recreation of the Beverly Hills 90210 intro I’ve seen done by “real people.”  Check it out and you’ll see what I mean.

Romantic Scenes Pt. 5

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4

1. Joey and Pacey have sex for the first time (Dawson’s Creek, Episode 4.14)

You may not have agreed with all my choices for this list of romantic teen drama moments.  I’ll be the first to admit there’s way too many to choose from.  But these are some of the ones that have left the most lasting impressions.

What are yours?
