Teen Dramas: The Evaluation Results

1 06 2009

A huge thanks to everyone who voted in my evaluations. Part of my love for teen dramas comes from interacting with other viewers, and this was a great way for me to learn more about you guys.  Hope you all appreciated it as well.

Now on to the results…

Your favorite teen drama characters are Brooke Davis (One Tree Hill) and Lucas Scott (One Tree Hill).  While Brooke won with more than 60 percent of the vote and runner-up Blair (Gossip Girl) only got 30, Lucas was closely trailed by Chuck (Gossip Girl) with a 5 percent margin.

It was One Tree Hill versus Gossip Girl again in favorite couple, as Leyton beat Chuck and Blair by just 3 votes!

90210 scored its first–albeit, negative–win with Annie  and Ethan ranking as worst characters.

Worst couple was a super-close race with Vanessa and Nate (Gossip Girl) tying with Brooke and Owen (One Tree Hill).  90210’s Annie and Ethan were only behind by 3 votes!

One Tree Hill’s Jamie Scott and Karen Roe earned 66 and 59 percent of the votes for favorite supporting character and favorite returning character, respectively. They also won by a large margin.

Peyton’s pregnancy and relationship with Lucas was voted best storyline but Blair and Chuck’s relationship wasn’t far behind.

The Nanny Carrie storyline on One Tree Hill earned more than half of the votes for worst storyline.

While Adrianna’s overdose on 90210 and the Gossip Girl finale tied for second place in best cliff-hanger, the top spot went to Peyton’s pregnancy health scare(s) on One Tree Hill.

And, in the biggest margin out of all the categories, One Tree Hill won as your favorite teen drama overall with a whopping 73 percent of the vote.

Here’s how the shows stacked up: One Tree Hill–10 wins; Gossip Girl–1; 90210–1.  As you can see, One Tree Hill totally dominated!

It will be interesting to see if this changes next year, considering all the changes planned for One Tree Hill.

Feel free to comment on the results!

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: Any news on the CW drama Body Politic? Will it be picked up for mid-season? –Corinne
Ausiello:
It won’t. But I keep hearing rumors that one of the show’s stars may find work on another high-profile CW drama. If it happens, and all of my sources insist it probably won’t, it would create quite the hububaloo.

Question: Why did The CW kill the Gossip Girl spin-off? –Tammy
Ausiello:
I’m told the higher-ups never embraced the whole ’80s conceit. I’m also told the reason CW boss Dawn Ostroff stopped short of declaring the project dead last week was because there’s a chance it could be reconceived down the road.

****

Note: I think the first question is referring to whether Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) will appear on the new 90210.

Any scoop on Gossip Girl‘s Season 3? — F.R.
MICKEY: Speaking with TVGuide.com at the CW upfronts, Leighton Meester seemed to confirm that Georgina’s plan to weasel her way into Blair’s life will be successful, as Blair will be living — gasp! — in an NYU dorm, with the little people! Including possibly both G. and V.! (Don’t worry, Dorota fans; she’ll still be on hand to tend to her “Miss Blair.”)

Gossip Girl: The Evaluation Results

25 05 2009

First off, I want to thank you all for encouraging me to do a poll for Gossip Girl (and One Tree Hill).  While the results weren’t surprising to me, it’s still interesting to know where you all stand.

Chuck and Blair pretty much dominated.  They’re your favorite characters and favorite couple, and their relationship won best storyline.  The percentages were pretty high, too, so no one else really stood a chance apparently.

Vanessa got the majority of votes for worst female character, while Dan won for worst male–though Nate was very close behind.

Nate and Vanessa were voted worst couple, with Nate and Blair in second.

Georgina ranked best supporting character, beating Dorota by only two votes.

There were single votes for the following as worst storyline: Georgina becoming religious, Nate and Jenny’s fling, Eleanor and Cyrus getting married, Nate and Blair reuniting, Chuck’s “Eyes Wide Shut” story and the Gabriel/Poppy scheme.

There were equal votes for best cliffhanger, both coming from the finale: Serena finding out about her dad, and Georgina requesting to room with Blair at NYU.

You rated the season an 8 overall and the show a 9.

Thoughts?

One Tree Hill results will be posted tomorrow.
