Random Question

19 02 2009

How do you feel about spoilers?

There are those that don’t mind them, those that avoid them and those that live for them.

I’m in that last category.  I love being spoiled!  I actively seek out spoilers for a simple reason: I do not have the patience to wait and see what will happen on my favorite shows.  I am dying to know new storylines, twists and plot outcomes.

Contrary to popular belief, this does not take away from the experience of watching the show.  I may have read about what’s going to happen but now I get to see how it happens.  Reading plans is one thing.  How it unfolds on-screen is another.  Plus with foilers and last-minute changes, there are still plenty of surprises.

What do you think?  Are you pro- or anti-spoilers?

News Roundup: 90210, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and More

18 02 2009
  • 90210 cast members will sit on a special panel at this year’s Paley Festival in California.
  • Both Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) and Mischa Barton (Marissa, The O.C.) made headlines for participating in Fashion Week events.
  • Garth recently commented that it’s like 90210 will get a second season.
  • The CW Source is speculating whether Chad Michael Murray (Lucas, One Tree Hill) will return if the show goes on to a seventh season–and whether CMM tied the knot with fiance Kenzie Dalton, a former OTH extra.
  • TVGuide.com has a short article about Nick Lachey’s upcoming appearance on One Tree Hill, but it’s all information we already know.
  • Popbytes has a look at photo spread Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) did for Harper’s Bazaar.
  • In an interview with MTV, Zuzanna Szadkowski (Dorota, Gossip Girl) says the show is very popular in Poland, where she’s from–and that she’s rooting for Chuck and Blair!
  • While at a Fashion Week event, Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina, Gossip Girl) joked that she’s “dating the whole cast, girls included.”
  • There doesn’t seem to be a Watch with Kristin chat this week (probably because Monday was President’s Day) but hopefully more spoilers will come later in the week.

Site of the Week

16 02 2009

The site of the week is Wikipedia…sort of.

Let me explain.

Wikipedia has the most thorough listing of every “teen drama” ever made.

The list not only includes programs that I don’t even consider to be traditional teen dramas (which, in my opinion, are the ones covered by this site) but also shows that are from other countries.

Wikipedia isn’t always accurate but this list, my site of the week, is a great way to familiarize yourself with what else is out there.

All-Time Favorite Couples

16 02 2009

As TeenDramaWhore.com nears the end of its second month (time flies!), I figured it was time to get personal.  Like favorite couple-personal.

One of the biggest connections audiences have to teen dramas is the couple they root for.  Couples are at the core of all these shows, sparking devotion and debate.

To help us get to know each other better, this week I’ll be presenting my 5 personal all-time favorite couples.  If you look closely, you should be able to find a common theme among my choices that explains why I prefer these particular couples. Please share your thoughts–and your picks!–in the comments.

5.  Marissa Cooper and Ryan Atwood (The O.C.)

Part of the initial attraction to The O.C. was the dynamic between the spoiled pretty Marissa and the rough tough new boy Ryan.  The chemistry between these two characters from different worlds was powerful from the start.  Even after they got together, the course of love never did run smooth for Ryan and Marissa.  They broke up and got back together several times during the series, before any promise of a future was abruptly taken away when Marissa tragically died at the end of the third season.  Any argument that they are meant to be failed since they could never end up together.  Still, theirs was a love of passion and pain and I loved every minute of it.

Best Season-Ending Cliff-Hangers Pt. 5

15 02 2009

Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four

The last in my season-ending cliff-hangers series is devoted to The O.C.  In its four seasons, The O.C. had some of the most breath-taking season-ending cliff-hangers I’ve ever seen.  When you add in the cliff-hanger from the first section of season one, it’s all just overwhelming! Here they are in chronological order, which also happens to be–in my opinion–in order of increasing excellence.

1A. The O.C.: The Escape (Season One)

1B. The O.C.: The Ties That Bind (Season One)

1C. The O.C.: The Dearly Beloved (Season Two)

1D. The O.C.: The Graduates (Season Three)–THE BEST TEEN DRAMA SEASON-ENDING CLIFF-HANGER
