News Roundup: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210 and More

17 03 2009
  • Newsday called Gossip Girl “one of the smartest shows on television” and rated this season an A.
  • Last night’s Gossip Girl was based on the film/book, The Age of Innocence.  The New York Post provides a side-by-side comparison.
  • Sebastian Stan (Carter, Gossip Girl) has one of the lead roles on Kings, a new series airing on NBC.
  • EW.com is asking readers why you love Gossip Girl and 90210.  One staffer just doesn’t see the appeal.
  • BuddyTV ranked the different parts of last night’s One Tree Hill.
  • Mark Schwahn previews next week’s episode in this video.
  • You can customize your iGoogle homepage with a One Tree Hill header.
  • Chad Michael Murray (Lucas, One Tree Hill) gives one-word plot twists in a new video interview: dog, baby, heart, cash, hospital and love.   Also, did you know he’s is a painter in his spare time?!  Who knew?!
  • James Lafferty (Nathan, One Tree Hill) will play in a Battle of the Sexes celebrity basketball game.
  • Tori Spelling’s (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) new book, Mommywood, will no longer go head-to-head with her mother Candy’s memoir.  I’ll still be buying both!
  • SoapNet is airing commercials with Spelling talking about different Donna moments.  Really just promos to get you to watch the repeats.  Would be cool if they did this with all the characters!
  • Ryan Eggold (Ryan, 9021o) said he didn’t watch the original show growing up, choosing ninjas and Saved by the Bell instead.
  • Love this “open letter” praising Josh Schwartz.
  • The New York Times compares Schwartz’s Rockville CA to The O.C. and Gossip Girl.

Watch Beverly Hills, 90210 from the beginning!

17 03 2009

My favorite channel–SoapNet–will be starting Beverly Hills, 90210 again from the beginning this week!

If you’ve never seen all the episodes in the original order, or just want to watch them again, here’s your opportunity!

You can catch the first half of the series premiere Tuesday at 12pm and 6pm eastern time.

And then the second part will air Wednesday at 11am and 5pm eastern time.

Enjoy it!  It’s such a trip watching everyone from nearly 20 years ago!!!

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and More

10 03 2009
  • Michael Steger (Navid, 90210) says he’ll get more air time as Adrianna’s (Jessica Lowndes) pregnany progresses but he doesn’t what his other storylines, if any, will be.
  • Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) says he doesn’t know if AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) will be joining him in the Twilight sequel, New Moon.
  • Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) says she’s “the happiest I’ve ever been” and won’t follow Britney Spears in her (now over?) downward spiral.
  • Matt Barr (Psycho Derek, One Tree Hill) has been added to the cast of the Gossip Girl spin-off.  Since his character’s last name is van der Woodsen, he could be Lily’s future husband and Serena and Eric’s dad.  Or they could be trying to throw us.  Maybe she ends up marrying his brother or cousin or something?  And where does Rufus play a role in this if he’s supposedly the great love of her younger life??
  • Kate Voegle (Mia, One Tree Hill) is working on a new album in addition to filming OTH episodes.
  • Madchen Amick (Catherine, Gossip Girl; Nicole, Dawson’s Creek) has been cast in an ABC pilot.
  • SoapNet has acquired all the seasons of Gilmore Girls but no word yet when it will air or if this will break up the daily and weekend blocks of One Tree Hill, The O.C., and Beverly Hills 90210.

Watch The O.C. from the Beginning!

22 01 2009

(From Newsday)

HAVE A COOL CHRISMUKKAH! Remember when broody city hood Ryan first went to live with the cushy ‘burban Cohens on “The O.C.” ( TODAY 4 p.m. EST, SOAPnet)? Who knew how much we’d end up loving nerdy Seth and hating drippy Marissa? Flash back to August 2003 with the “O.C.” pilot, then savor the suds from beginning to end on SOAPnet subsequent weekdays at 3 and 4 p.m. Keep obsessing at soapnet.com/oc.
