- The Real One Tree Hill Twitter account tweeted a very brief video with Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill).
- Like Nichols did for his character, Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) has started a Twitter account for hers, under the name @BDavis_Baker.
- TVGuide.com has a brief video interview with Joe Manganiello (Owen, One Tree Hill).
- Shenae Grimes (Annie, 90210) tweeted she has a cameo in Scream 4, which also features Adam Brody (Seth, The O.C.) and Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl), and an article in the new issue of Nylon, the one that features Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) on the cover.
- ABC has ordered a pilot from Fake Empire, which is run by Josh Schwartz (executive producer, Gossip Girl; The O.C.) and Stephanie Savage (executive producer, Gossip Girl; The O.C.). The show, which Schwartz and Savage will produce, sounds awfully like the failed CW pilot Body Politic, which starred Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210).
- Gossip Cop busted a fabricated Perez Hilton story about Rachel Bilson (Summer, The O.C.) supposedly dating Jake Gyllenhaal.
- Jackson Rathbone (Justin, The O.C.) has been cast in No Ordinary Family, which stars Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.) and is executive produced by Greg Berlanti (writer-producer, Dawson’s Creek).
- Busy Philipps (Audrey, Dawson’s Creek) won Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy in EW.com’s EWwy Awards.
- The Star has an interview with Nina Repeta (Bessie, Dawson’s Creek).

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl and More
14 05 2010- Media Life has an interesting article on state of The CW, its success in the past year (including why Gossip Girl and 90210 are considered successful when their total live audience numbers suggest otherwise) and how it might approach the 2010-2011 season. The article also says there is speculation both One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected will return, which is the same speculation we heard yesterday. And let me put emphasis on the word “speculation.”
- Kristin also reports that OTH and LUX could get a 12 or 13 episode order but cautions “no final decisions have been made.”
- Gossip Cop and I busted a Hollywood Life story claiming Torrey DeVitto (Carrie, One Tree Hill) and Paul Wesley (Donnie, The O.C.) “got secretly married.” They haven’t.
- Generation Y, featuring Daniella Alonso (Anna, One Tree Hill), has been ordered as a series by ABC.
- NBC ordered three series with teen drama connections: Friends With Benefits, starring Danneel Harris (Rachel, One Tree Hill), Outlaw, previously called Justice and created by John Eisendrath (executive producer, Beverly Hills 90210), and Harry’s Law, previously called Kindreds and featuring Brittany Snow (Young Lily, Gossip Girl).
- Luke Perry (Dylan, Beverly Hills 90210) worked with Soles4Souls today to aid those affected in Nashville by the floods.
- Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) received the Sparkling Performance Award at last night’s Young Hollywood Awards, which were also attended by Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210), Snow, Wesley and Nikki Reed (Sadie, The O.C.) and possibly other teen drama stars.
- Stroup has a new pixie haircut and spoke to PEOPLE.com about it.
- Gossip Cop busted rumors that Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) are back together. They are NOT…but anything is possible down the road.
- NBC canceled Mercy, which starred Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina, Gossip Girl) and James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek).
- PEOPLE.com reports Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) is in “active negotiations” to play Marilyn Monroe in a movie.
- If you were a fan of The WB–and I imagine you were if you’re a Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill fan–I highly encourage you to check out this roundup of promos from the network, featuring those casts and many other teen drama stars. It’s a chillingly beautiful trip down memory lane.

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and More
12 05 2010- Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week, including a look at the making of Carry You Home.
- Last night’s 90210 (million viewers) increased a teeny tiny bit in the ratings compared to last week when you look at the raw numbers (1.429 vs. 1.449).
- AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) was named Sexiest Beach Body and Olivia Wilde (Alex, The O.C.) was named Sexiest Actress in Victoria Secret’s annual What Is Sexy? list. Zap2it is wondering why Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) didn’t make the list.
- There’s a new Talking Gossip After Dark podcast, featuring my usual contribution.
- The CW sent out a press release formally announcing that the show will film its first two episodes of season 4 in Paris with Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl), Lively and Chuck (Ed Westwick, Gossip Girl). I guess A) actually filming overseas and B) having a male character go, too, are two ways to differentiate it from the Beverly Hills 90210 Paris episodes. I’ll save my snarkiness for next time.
- If you missed the live Q & A with Everly, featuring Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill), last night, you can watch the archived version.
- Look To The Stars has an interview with Jackson Brundage, mostly about charity and his work with CURED.
- The full video for Alicia Keys’ Un-Thinkable, featuring Chad Michael Murray (Lucas, One Tree Hill) is now available. I love it!
- Lindsay McKeon (Taylor, One Tree Hill) appears in a commercial for Miller Light.
- No Ordinary Family, starring Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.) and Tate Donovan (Jimmy, The O.C.) and executive produced by Greg Berlanti (writer-producer, Dawson’s Creek), has been ordered as a series by ABC.
- The Frisky has a fun look at what they say are the 10 Best Looks for Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek).

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More
21 04 2010- The CW sent out a press release of upcoming sweeps highlights, which Zap2it handily categorized by show. They left some things out, but all of it should be considered spoilers so consider this fair warning. If you guys want, I’ll post it all, as given in the release, in a Spoiler post. Let me know.
- There is “We Are One” campaign to further encourage The CW to renew One Tree Hill.
- Examiner.com has an article on the showcase Jana Kramer (Alex, One Tree Hill) had last week.
- I’ve heard speculation for a while now that Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) has been dating actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan. With no legitimate outlet reporting it, I didn’t post anything on it. But now we’ve got confirmation: the duo appeared on the red carpet last night for his movie The Losers.
- Kenzie Dalton, girlfriend of Chad Michael Murray (Lucas, One Tree Hill), wrote on her blog that CMM has a graphic novel titled Everlast coming out this summer.
- How To Make It In America, starring Bryan Greenberg (Jake, One Tree Hill), has been renewed for a second season on HBO.
- Bob Levy (executive producer, Gossip Girl) has been named executive vice president of film at Alloy.
- ABC is reportedly developing a daytime talk show for Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) and a “co-host to be determined.”
- Eric Mabius (Dean Hess, The O.C.) has been cast in Outcasts, a BBC series.
- Jeffrey Stepakoff (writer-producer, Dawson’s Creek) is returning to Wilmington April 30 for a book signing to support Fireworks Over Toccoa. Have you read my interview with him?

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, 90210, One Tree Hill and Dawson’s Creek
13 04 2010- Last night’s Gossip Girl (1.9 million viewers rounded up) climbed a bit in the ratings compared to last week.
- Korbi is asking via poll if Blair should have forgiven Chuck.
- Gossip Cop busted a Perez Hilton/In Touch story about Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) hooking up with Twilight’s Robert Pattinson.
- The Daily News claims they have more details about the breakup between Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl).
- You can enter a sweepstakes to win the dress Silver (Jessica Stroup, 90210) wore to the Winter Wonderland dance.
- Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) will make his return to Smallville on Friday’s episode. Ausiello has an exclusive sneak peek of one of his scenes.
- Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) has been cast in Southern Discomfort, an ABC pilot. This DOES NOT mean One Tree Hill is canceled or that Bush is abandoning ship. 1) OTH has not been canceled–or renewed. 2) If OTH is renewed, Bush is contractually obligated to do OTH. 3) She is simply preparing herself for what may be a reality. It’s a smart move.
- Also noteworthy in the short article about the casting is Deadline’s take that OTH has a 50-50 chance at renewal. They also “presume” that it’s OTH versus Life Unexpected, which stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek). The Hollywood Reporter says the shows “are considered to be” in competition.
- Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) won a Genie Award for his acting work in the movie One Week. He reportedly mentioned DC in his acceptance speech. He looks adorable in the photo.

Spoiler: Ask Ausiello
11 03 2010RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!
Question: Is Gossip Girl ever going to revisit Blair’s eating disorder? —Lauren
Ausiello: Yes, but if you blink you’ll likely miss it. Exec producer Stephanie Savage tells me that there’s a “moment” coming up that touches on B’s struggle with bulimia. “It’s very subtle,” she quickly adds. “But for people who are looking for it, they will find it.”
Question: What can you tell me about the Carter’s return on Gossip Girl? —Lucia
Ausiello: It’s tied to the arrival of Serena’s father (Billy Baldwin).
Question: Anything on Entourage? —Jimmy
Ausiello: Autumn Reeser’s returning! The O.C. triple threat (gorgeous, talented, loves me) just signed on to reprise her role as junior agent Lizzie Grant for a handful of episodes in season 7. And next week she starts work on the Greg Berlanti-produced ABC pilot No Ordinary Family. Someone’s in demand!
Question: I know you hate One Tree Hill, but do you have any scoop on what’s coming up. —Jessica
Ausiello: The season finale is currently being shot on location in Utah. And if you have to ask why, you obviously haven’t been watching this season. In related news, can someone please tell me why they’re shooting on location in Utah?

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and More
5 03 2010- Have you taken the TDW Survey yet?
- The Hollywood Reporter has a very interesting interview with CW head Dawn Ostroff, where she discusses 90210 and Gossip Girl, in addition to One Tree Hill.
- TeenTelevision.com and Digital Spy have spoiler-filled interviews with Michael Steger (Navid, 90210). I’ll be posting my own interview with Steger on Sunday.
- Amber Wallace (Glenda, One Tree Hill) will be reprising her role as Lila on 90210. Zap2it has some spoilish details and I’ll have some, too, in my Steger interview.
- There’s some evidence that this newly-made Twitter account (and the linked Facebook page) is actually Shannen Doherty (Brenda, Beverly Hills 90210), particularly because verified accounts for Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano are communicating with it. But her reps insist to me it’s not. Interpret as you wish.
- Also found a listing on Amazon for Doherty’s upcoming book, Bad Ass. Have to say I’m kind of surprised…
- Rebecca Gayheart (Toni, Beverly Hills 90210) and hubby Eric Dane welcomed a baby girl earlier this week.
- Last night’s Jimmy Fallon featured a super-awesome reunion of the super-awesome California Dreams cast, which included Heidi Lenhart (Ellen, Beverly Hills 90210).
- NYU Livewire has a very interesting article with suggestions on how to improve Gossip Girl.
- One Tree Hill co-producer Kelly Tenney has another SoGoPro blog post about filming in Utah.
- MTV has a video interview with James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek), where he says he and Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) would be interested in some sort of “reunion show.” Don’t get that at all since A) Van Der Beek said last month he wasn’t interested in one, B) creator Kevin Williamson said during November’s Paley Panel he wasn’t interested in one, C) The series finale took place 5 years in the future, D) Jen died in the finale and E) Williams didn’t even participate in the Paley Panel.
- Jeri Ryan (Charlotte, The O.C.) has been cast in Body of Evidence, an ABC pilot.
