News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill

17 05 2010
  • The Daily News has a “Where Are They Now?” gallery for Beverly Hills 90210. Timely but far from accurate.
  • Hollywood Life has a video interview with Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210).
  • MTV has a fun but not entirely accurate post looking at the relationships among CW stars, including those from 90210, Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill.
  • Ausiello has an interview with Stephanie Savage (executive producer, Gossip Girl) about tonight’s finale. If you haven’t watched yet, DON’T read it. The comments are…crazy.
  • Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) was on The Rachael Ray Show today.
  • Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) is on the cover of the June issue of Vogue.
  • Kristin tweeted that it’s “not official but sure looks like” One Tree Hill is getting half a season…but I can confirm that, as of minutes after this was tweeted, the OTH folks themselves still hadn’t heard anything yet.
  • Kristin elaborated ever so slightly in a post, and also spoke a little bit with Danneel Harris (Rachel, One Tree Hill) about her wedding.
  • Robert Buckley (Clay, One Tree Hill) was on The Wendy Williams Show today.
  • MTV has a spoilish interview with Buckley….but it’s only spoilish if you haven’t seen tonight’s episode yet.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl and More

14 05 2010
  • Media Life has an interesting article on state of The CW, its success in the past year (including why Gossip Girl and 90210 are considered successful when their total live audience numbers suggest otherwise) and how it might approach the 2010-2011 season. The article also says there is speculation both One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected will return, which is the same speculation we heard yesterday. And let me put emphasis on the word “speculation.”
  • Kristin also reports that OTH and LUX could get a 12 or 13 episode order but cautions “no final decisions have been made.”
  • Gossip Cop and I busted a Hollywood Life story claiming Torrey DeVitto (Carrie, One Tree Hill) and Paul Wesley (Donnie, The O.C.) “got secretly married.” They haven’t.
  • Generation Y, featuring Daniella Alonso (Anna, One Tree Hill), has been ordered as a series by ABC.
  • NBC ordered three series with teen drama connections: Friends With Benefits, starring Danneel Harris (Rachel, One Tree Hill), Outlaw, previously called Justice and created by John Eisendrath (executive producer, Beverly Hills 90210), and Harry’s Law, previously called Kindreds and featuring Brittany Snow (Young Lily, Gossip Girl).
  • Luke Perry (Dylan, Beverly Hills 90210) worked with Soles4Souls today to aid those affected in Nashville by the floods.
  • Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) received the Sparkling Performance Award at last night’s Young Hollywood Awards, which were also attended by Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210), Snow, Wesley and Nikki Reed (Sadie, The O.C.) and possibly other teen drama stars.
  • Stroup has a new pixie haircut and spoke to PEOPLE.com about it.
  • Gossip Cop busted rumors that Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) are back together. They are NOT…but anything is possible down the road.
  • NBC canceled Mercy, which starred Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina, Gossip Girl) and James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek).
  • PEOPLE.com reports Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) is in “active negotiations” to play Marilyn Monroe in a movie.
  • If you were a fan of The WB–and I imagine you were if you’re a Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill fan–I highly encourage you to check out this roundup of promos from the network, featuring those casts and many other teen drama stars. It’s a chillingly beautiful trip down memory lane.

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl and The O.C.

2 03 2010
  • Have you taken the TDW Survey yet?
  • Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
  • PEOPLE.com has 90210 spoilers.
  • SF Weekly has a great feature called Ten Bands That Have Rocked 90210, highlighting memorable music moments from Beverly Hills 90210 and 90210.
  • ABC’s Dancing With The Stars bio for Shannen Doherty (Brenda, Beverly Hills 90210) mentions she’ll be paired with Mark Ballas and she has a book called Bad Ass coming out.
  • Kristin and PopWrap have very spoilish interviews with Stephanie Savage (executive producer, Gossip Girl). She also makes a comparison to The O.C., which she also EPed.
  • Kellan Lutz (George, 9021o), Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl), Josh Schwartz (creator, Gossip Girl; The O.C.), and Paul Wesley (Donnie, The O.C.) were named Fun Fearless Males for 2010 by Cosmopolitan.
  • Don’t believe this Hollywood Life “exclusive” that Westwick is buying a house for Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl). Gossip Cop (full disclosure: my current employer) says it’s not true.
  • EW.com has an interview with Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan, The O.C.) about Southland with a subtle dig at The O.C.
  • TVGuideMagazine.com posted a feature article on McKenzie. This may be the one in the magazine. This one has a nicer comment about The O.C.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, The O.C. and Dawson’s Creek

18 02 2010
  • Korbi is asking readers if One Tree Hill should return for an 8th season.
  • Hollywood Life (::cringe::) has an article in support of an 8th season (which really stems from an unfair poll they ran last week).
  • The TV Addict also has piece supporting One Tree Hill (and Life Unexpected).
  • Us Weekly (::shudder::) has a short interview with Shantel VanSanten (Quinn, One Tree Hill).
  • AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) is on the cover of Shape Magazine, which Crushable.com thinks was photo-shopped.
  • John Schneider (Liam’s step-dad, 90210) will star in a pilot for Spike called Back Nine.
  • Shannen Doherty (Brenda, Beverly Hills 90210) spoke to PEOPLE.com about her fashion style and her admiration of Lady Gaga.
  • ShelterPop has an article on the Beverly Hills 90210 beach apartment being for sale. In addition to saying that it is indeed separate apartments (the listing I posted earlier this month said it was one house), there’s a picture of the inside–and it looks nothing like what we saw on the show. The intro also describes it as “Donna and David’s beachfront pad”–an odd choice considering David lived there for just one season while Donna and Kelly lived there, albeit off-and-on, for six.
  • The Wall Street Journal has an interview with Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan, The O.C.) about Southland.
  • Shutter Island, starring Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) will be released in theaters tomorrow.
