Random Question

19 02 2009

How do you feel about spoilers?

There are those that don’t mind them, those that avoid them and those that live for them.

I’m in that last category.  I love being spoiled!  I actively seek out spoilers for a simple reason: I do not have the patience to wait and see what will happen on my favorite shows.  I am dying to know new storylines, twists and plot outcomes.

Contrary to popular belief, this does not take away from the experience of watching the show.  I may have read about what’s going to happen but now I get to see how it happens.  Reading plans is one thing.  How it unfolds on-screen is another.  Plus with foilers and last-minute changes, there are still plenty of surprises.

What do you think?  Are you pro- or anti-spoilers?

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Please give me some information about 90210‘s Annie and Ethan. I really like them together, and I am sick of the show messing with all the couples! — Heather
MICKEY: What’s your damage, Heather? (Heh.) Let’s play “I’d rather.” I’d rather date Flip Wilson than Annie Wilson. Fun, right? The tempestuous Annie-Ethan potboiler will be taken off the fire in the near future, as the ladies band together to help a friend in crisis. The solution: A little religion never hurt anyone, right? Unless you’re West Bev’s crown princess of darkness, then it might sting a little.

Is Michael Copon (Felix, One Tree Hill) going to be on Gossip Girl?  He’s doing that thing with his Facebook status again! — Amy
MICKEY: Well, everything on Facebook is true, right? Mazel tov, Michael! Except, IRL, when I shook down my CW source, who is not dissimilar in appearance than that trusty prognosticating Eight Ball, signs pointed to: X-No, X-No.

All-Time Favorite Couples Pt. 2

17 02 2009

Part One

4. Lucas and Peyton (One Tree Hill)

One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn once said ,”From the pilot we designed a world where Lucas and Peyton are meant to be together.”  Though they have spent much of the series’ 6 seasons apart, I believe the show still managed to be true to that world.  Watching them build a friendship and harbor crushes, getting closer only to get pushed apart, kept the emotions of both the characters and the fans raw and passionate.  Us Leyton fans seemed to get what we wanted, finally, at the middle of season 4…only to be shocked when we saw–four years into the future–they were no longer together.  But their history–as friends, lovers and more–kept the relationship alive whether they were together or apart.  When they were, it was total bliss.  When they weren’t, I yearned for them to be together, much like Peyton herself did.  When Lucas asks Peyton to marry him (the second time) and they resume their romantic relationship, it is a culmination of what the writers and characters worked towards for so many years.  I cannot imagine an ending to the show where they are not together and hopefully I won’t have to.

Site of the Week

16 02 2009

The site of the week is Wikipedia…sort of.

Let me explain.

Wikipedia has the most thorough listing of every “teen drama” ever made.

The list not only includes programs that I don’t even consider to be traditional teen dramas (which, in my opinion, are the ones covered by this site) but also shows that are from other countries.

Wikipedia isn’t always accurate but this list, my site of the week, is a great way to familiarize yourself with what else is out there.

YouTube Video of the Week

15 02 2009

Chad Michael Murray is one of just two actors in the teen drama genre with a special distinction: he’s had a significant role on two series!  CMM appeared on 12 episodes of Dawson’s Creek circa 2001-2002.  His character, Charlie Todd, wooed both Jen and Joey.

Just a year-and-a-half later he made his debut as Lucas, one of the lead characters on One Tree Hill.

Here’s a look at CMM’s appearances on DC.

CMM was the only one to hold this distinction until a few months ago when James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) began appearing on One Tree Hill as Dixon.  Now both CMM and James have appeared on each other’s shows and acted in scenes together!

Coincidentally, CMM and Hilarie Burton (Peyton) shared one scene on Dawson’s Creek as well, when she guest-starred as herself.  This was, obviously, pre-OTH.
