- So it IS true that Diablo Cody will be guest-starring on 90210! You can read about it here, here and here!
- Grant Show is up for making an appearance on 90210…if his character Jake can revive his his long-ago romance with Kelly (Jennie Garth)!
- One of the show’s writers talks about Tori’s return here.
- Watch with Kristin says there’s an “even” chance One Tree Hill will return for a seventh season. Also in the article is a very interesting quote from Sophia Bush (Brooke) about once dating a current co-star (!) after splitting from Chad Michael Murray (Lucas).
- James Van Der Beek (Dawson…duh!) will play a surporting role on a new pilot series called Eve Adams.

Question: What do you say you put aside your personal feelings and give us some One Tree Hill scoop. — Tara
Ausiello: Okay, but just this once: Things are looking bad for the show’s resident Tin Man (a.k.a. Dan). Like, really bad.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More
14 01 2009- OTH made EW’s Must List for the week. See if you can spot the factual error!
- More details have been released on Kelly Rutherford’s (Lily, Gossip Girl) impending divorce and why her husband blames the show.
- Dawn Ostroff, in talking about CW viewers: “Our fans really love some of that heightened drama, as you can see when you watch ‘One Tree Hill’ and ‘Gossip Girl.‘ So the job is both: to get them emotionally invested in the people and then do storylines that have twists and turns and surprises you never expected.”
- There’s another Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210) story, similar to the one we posted last night.
- And another Jessica Lowdnes (Adrianna, 90210) story.
- Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) is on the cover of Vogue. Lively calls the GG fashion “unbelievable.” You can read the whole interview here. Another article, more about Vogue, though.
- AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) has some pretty steamy photos in the February issue of GQ.

Tuesday Night Reaction
13 01 200990210
- More evidence of how important Jessica Lowndes has become to the show: the ‘previously’ recap was practically all about Adrianna.
- Q1: “My friends back home are gonna get a snow day. Lucky bastards.”–Annie
- Cute that Annie and Ethan were talking on the phone before bed but…
- Why did she lie about what she was wearing? She still looked pretty cute and…
- Did they really just say I love you? For the first time? Like that?
- Funny running lines with Tabitha but anything with Tabitha is usually funny.
- Q2: “These vocal chords are what put this roof over our head.”–Tabitha
- The Wilsons have “help”? Never seen ’em…
- How is this the first time Debbie and Tabitha are arguing about chores? It’s never come up in the 4 months they’ve been living together?
- Did Annie really say ‘you have a nice mouth’? Gross.
- Q3: “It’s givin’ me diabetes.”–Silver
- Q4: “I love me some Barack Obama.”
- That whole menstrual dialogue was SO NOT NECESSARY.
- The complaining about gym did remind me of a similar scene in Clueless. (That’s two nights in a row for Clueless!)
- Why did they bother dressing for gym if they knew they were going to protest participating?
- In Naomi’s nicer moments, I see a little Kelly/Jennie Garth in her.
- The blonde “Blended” is Shelly from OTH! Looks younger here, no?
- Adrianna faints and you don’t call for help right away? And you don’t follow up with it for more than 10 minutes?
- I don’t get why they delay the opening credits so much.
- Q5: “What are you two in heat?”–Silver
- Q6: “How about some privacy, Silver?” “How about some discretion, Ethan?”–Ethan and Silver
- Why is Silver making fun of Dixon after seeing last week how good he is at singing?
- Q7: “We can pretend it’s just you and me…and my dad.”–Annie
- Q8: “Well there’s no Navid standing behind ya, is there, honey?”–Naomi
- Q9: “Get over yourself, Naomi.”–Navid
- Car surprise at school is cute/embarrassing.
- The kitchen exchange about the car was pretty funny.
- Q10: “No 16-year-old needs a car. There are kids in other countries with no shoes!”–Debbie
- Loved Tabitha in her Asian garb
- Q11: “I’m tired of being a teenager.”–Annie (Is she really whining again?!)
- Who couldn’t tell that Tabitha was lying about asking Debbie permission for Palm Springs?
- Will we ever meet Ethan’s bro? I read forever ago that we were going to, and he’s autistic.
- See the commercial for the contest we told you about last week?
- When I saw the promos, I took issue with them being at the beach in January. Guess it makes sense now given the supposed heat wave.
- Showing The Peach Pit without Nat is just like a tease!
- Q12: “Sour grapes, baby. Sour grapes.”–Navid
- Q13: “I gave you a tip. A big tip.”–Navid
- Harry’s mother/wife Freudian slip was funny.
- Interesting that Debbie brought up not living with Tabitha. Don’t remember: can they not afford their own place? And does Harry have siblings?
- Q14: “Talked to your mom, delightful creature that she is.”–Naomi
- Q15: “Pregnant-pregnant?”–Naomi
- Is “I’m ready to go to Palm Springs” code for something?!
- Q16: “How do you tell your boyfriend you’re pregnant with someone else’s you-know-what?”–Adrianna
- Q17: “Today is all about frisbee-ing your cares away.”
- What was with the camera focus on Adrianna’s tattoo?
- Just realized: Annie’s grandmother has a place in Palm Springs that she goes to just like David in the original series!
- Why did Ethan think the pool was cool? Don’t all those BH houses have pools?
- Q18: “Do you want to play cards?”–Annie
- Loveddddd Silver’s bathing suit!
- Silver wanting to build the best sand castle reminded me of the original show’s sandcastle contest in season 3.
- And George is back. I think George = Luke on The O.C., at least in the beginning
- Q19: “He’s a total sponge.”–Naomi (What does that even mean?!)
- Q20: “Harry wore cloth diapers. By which I mean…”–Tabitha
- Q21: “I just installed a fancy schmancy security system.”–Tabitha
- Very impressed that Harry told Tabitha off.
- Did Jessica Stroup just name-drop Lauren Conrad?
- Q22: “Who knew liver came in so many forms?”–Annie
- Q23: “With any luck we’ll be out of here by the time college applications are due.”–Ethan
- So “I’m ready for Palm Springs” DOES mean something! Knew it!
- Naomi’s “friends” remind me too much of Blair’s on Gossip Girl.
- The ‘I love you’ said before Ethan and Annie started making out was so much better than the first one. This is how it should’ve been done originally!
- That scene was pretty sexy until it, well, stopped.
- Q24: “I don’t want to hurt you.” “Too late. You just did.”–Ethan and Annie
- Surprised Ethan put a stop to it.
- Q25: “Wake up and smell the blow!”–George
- I’m glad Adrianna told Navid about her pregnancy in this episode and it wasn’t drawn out into another.
- I knewwww Harry and Debbie would go to Palm Speings!
- Q26: “Harry, remember the fancy schmancy security system!”–Debbie
- Q27: “Oh, he’s asleep! On the couch! By himself!”–Debbie (If only she knew what really happened to make it that way!)
- Harry and Debbie were pretty cute in that scene and in the car after.
- Could’ve predicted Silver wouldn’t react well to Dixon’s “I love you.” Look at the examples in her life: Kelly & Dylan and Jackie & Mel. Need I say more? (And who knows if David and Donna are still together!)
- Silver’s response was just like Ryan’s on The O.C. when Marissa said to him the first time.
- Q28: “One minute you love me and the next you’re mad at me!”–Silver
- Q29: “Screw you, Dixon!”–Silver
- Catch Peter Gallagher in that commercial for some dance movie DVD?
- The scene with Annie catching her parents was pretty hysterical.
- Navid’s reaction/decision = not surprising.
- Is this the beginning of the end for Dixon and Silver? (Who, btw, most of you favored–so far–in this morning’s poll!)
- I doubt Dixon and Annie, two high-schoolers, can afford car insurance in California.
- Again, why are they just setting ground rules now?
- And does Tabitha getting that part mean more Tabitha for now? That’s not okay…
- Q30: “Glad you gave the kids the car because after what you did in that minivan, I wouldn’t want it either.”–Tabitha
- Purple eye shadow + pink lipstick = too much!
- Q31: “I’m 16 and I’m having a baby so that makes me a walking statistic.”–Adrianna
- Naomi was actually pretty sweet at the end.
- Q32: “It’s not just sex with you. It’s more.”–Ethan
- Q33: “Just a movie. And making out.”–Ethan
- They were pretty cute at the end.
- The promo was pretty good. Like the suspense. Curious to see if it’s misleading in any way…
- So glad Kelly will be back next episode. Eps without her always make me want her back. But only when she’s like her “old” self.

Article: Jason Priestley Won’t Rule Out 90210 Appearance
13 01 2009Could it be? Kelly and Brandon together again?
Perhaps, perhaps not.
If you ask Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210.), you’ll get this answer: “I never say never, right? If Gabe [Sachs] and Jeff [Judah] came up with something really interesting, then we’ll see what happens.”
That revelation and more is packed into yet another TCA Press Tour article.
Priestley says some interesting things…that I kind of take issue with. For instance:
JP says he directed 18 episodes of the original. Other sources have it at 15 or 16. (Though he did produce–whatever that means–more than 100.)
Says the only continuity between the original and new series is Erin and Kelly. Guess he forgot about his twin sis, Brenda!
Says the new 90210 is bigger than the original. Maybe BH90210 wasn’t huge at first, but it definitely got big!
Says “the episode I’m directing is a big episode. It’s a very ambitious episode.” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!
Says the new series needs to be its own show and too many old characters shouldn’t come back. Are you kidding? That’s all the show has going for it!
WHEW! Okay, done ranting.
(Maybe I’m being too knit-picky?)

Article: Ryan Eggold Interview
13 01 2009In another great 90210 interview (which we’re getting thanks to the TCA Press Tour), Eggold (Ryan Matthews) reveals some interesting inside-info. Here are the highlights:
Tori Spelling’s (Donna, Beverly Hills 9021o) return will be related to Silver. Makes sense considering they’re related through marriage. Brian Austin Green, where are you?!
The execs did consider making Ryan Harry and Tracy’s lovechild.
They also considered Ryan getting Brenda pregnant.
He’s got a very foul mouth. Strange–I don’t remember that from when I interviewed him!

Monday Night Reaction
13 01 2009GOSSIP GIRL
- Ed Westwick does the sad eyes very well.
- Was Blair really invited to the will reading?
- My guess is Blair hooked up with Uncle Jack before she knew who he was.
- Q1: “Strings attached. I’ll look like a marionette.”–Chuck
- T’was nice of Nate to show up and support Chuck.
- Q2: “I wouldn’t have come to this party if I knew I wasn’t VIP.”
- A lawyer is there to represent Lily’s interests–but what are they?
- The Chuck-Jack guardian convo was pretty funny.
- Chuck’s inheritance being put in a trust was very Dylan/Jack McKay-esque. Next thing we’ll find out is Bart isn’t really dead (after all, we didn’t see the crash)!
- Wonder how long Bart had that letter to Chuck prepared.
- Q3:”Why do you wear so much purple?”–Chuck guessing what the letter would say
- Awkward to read such a personal letter aloud, no?
- Q4: “The Italian au pair took care of that.”–Chuck
- Chuck’s point about now being worthy was a good one.
- Jenny-Eric-Jonathan is an interesting take on the third wheel concept. Two guys and a girl!
- Hilariously sad that Nelly’s on probation.
- So is Jack evil or just a dick?
- Q5: “Is lowly lonely boy cheating on our queen? Does the name Georgina ring a bell?”–Gossip Girl
- Q6: “You noticed that waitress I was gonna go home with had a penis so consider us even.”–Jack
- Did Jack predict Chuck would resist him taking over? How long had he been planning his scheme?
- Q7: “What do you want, Jack?” “You, obviously. ” “Ugh, hanging up!”–Blair and Jack
- Q8: “Why not celebrate Bart dying? That’ll be just as tasteless.”–Blair
- Stupid of Blair to trust Jack. She’s usually smarter than that.
- I assumed–apparently incorrectly–that Blair and Chuck were back on after he came down from the ledge and into her arms last week.
- Q9: “Are you sure this is a good time for a flare up of Chuck fever?”–Serena
- Q10: “Not that anyone would want Dan Humphrey. No offense.”–Blair
- Q11: “Brooklyn pig!”–Those girls (love them!)
- Q12: “How could you let him do it, V?” “You know who I am?” “Dating Nate after striking out with Dan Humphrey? Talk about falling upward!”–Those girls and Vanessa
- Q13: “Last time I had a friend like that I wound up with gonorrhea.
- Jack knows Chuck’s weakness! But really, who doesn’t?
- Q14: “Business and Blair or cocktails and coquettes?”–Gossip Girl (The Coquette is a great book, FYI!)
- Do you think Serena believed Vanessa when she said she didn’t know anything? I couldn’t really tell.
- Totally didn’t make sense at first why Nelly stole Dan’s phone. But now…woah, Nelly!
- Q15: “At this rate you’ll be off probation before your second marriage.” “Make that you first marriage.”–Penelope
- Chuck is an ass! Guess we knew that already, though.
- Surprised at first that Lily and Rufus made no romantic relationship progress while stuck in a hotel together…but then I melted when she took his hand.
- Not surprised that Rufus wasn’t giving up easily on finding his child.
- Q16: “Spare me those expressive eyebrows. I can’t wait til you get Botox!”–Blair
- Less Jenny = better show
- Rotary reference was funny but most the audience probably didn’t get it.
- Surprised the girls asked B’s permission before spilling all to Gossip Girl.
- Q17: “Bomb’s away girls.”–Penelope
- Q18: “While I’m always a fan of star-crossed lovers, at least Romeo and Juliet didn’t share DNA.”–Gossip Girl (Technically, Dan and Serena don’t either. They just have a sibling that shares with each of them.)
- Was Chuck really doing drugs? He looked drugged out but then came to his senses pretty quickly…
- I liked that Eric and Jenny were speechless to each other when they found out about the sibling, but that still said so much!
- Wanted Blair to slap Chuck when he was going off on her.
- Q19: “Stop trying to play wife!”–Chuck
- Q20: “Guess it makes sense that we fight like siblings.”
- I expected Serena to be more mad at Dan than she was.
- Lily said she didn’t want to find out they made a mistake. But didn’t they already?!
- Q21: “I don’t want to spend another minute trapped in this hotel room, scared you’re gonna hate me when I’m still in love with you.”–Lily
- Loved that Rufus went and kissed her after that!
- Was the talk of visiting Paris foreshadowing?
- Liked getting more (a few) details on Jack’s relationship to Bart and Jack’s involvement with the company
- Q22: “A teenager who can’t keep his pecker in his pants for more than 24 hours?” “At least I can keep mine in service for longer than 5 minutes!”–Jack and Chuck
- Morality clause!
- Q23: “Sounds like it’s got grandma written all over it.” “And it reeks of gin and Chanel No. 5.”–Eric and Serena
- Eric made a great point on how Dan is probably just as upset/confused as Serena is.
- Nate’s apology to Dan was nice but pretty random in the episode.
- Q24: “This whole thing made me nostalgia for the days when Jenny was the problem.”–Dan (Um, that was only last month!)
- The adopted father lied! No wonder he didn’t show any pictures! And that article was probably about their OTHER son’s death!
- So how long will it before Lily and Rufus find out their son really is alive?
- Chuck picked out some pretty ugly flowers!
- Chuck should’ve told Blair that he loved her. That would’ve made all the difference, I think. Instead, he gave up. Disappointing.
- The Clueless reference was great!
- Loved Lily and Rufus clasping hands at the end!
- Promo suggests bitchy Blair is back. Then again, was she ever really gone?
ONE TREE HILL
- After the ‘previously on One Tree Hill’ segment included Sam’s ‘I need you, Mom’ from last week, I thought that would be explored in this ep but…no.
- Don’t see where the Jack/Sam storyline is going. Drop it, please.
- Interesting to hear Julian give Sam advice (and call her Samson!). Shows yet another side of him.
- Quote 1: “Can’t they just go back to stalking Britney or something?’–Brooke
- Didn’t expect Brooke to blame herself for Q’s death. Did expect more follow-up on Q now that everyone knew who killed him.
- Q2: “His junk’s got a meeting with your lady business!”–Sam (Think she’s finally starting to grow on me!)
- So Nathan just started pro-basketball, his life-long dream, and says he wants a break already?
- Weird that Brooke was actually crying about Peyton’s dress. Her delayed/real reaction to the pregnancy was nice, though.
- Q3: “Going to excuse myself from this Brooke-Peyton lesbian hug thing.”–Sam
- Very proud of Mouth for being so open about his feelings. How did he know it was Owen? Did she tell him in the last ep?
- Millie made a good point: her virginity was hers. And Mouth is wrong for even saying she was his. Girls aren’t property!
- Surprised Chase so blatantly asked Mia out.
- Baby Brooke is adorable.
- Julian said Peyton’s pregnancy is awkward for “historical reasons.” As in, just because they dated in the past…or is there more to it?!
- Soon-to-be parents babysitting is such a recycled storyline in television–and OTH (Naley, season 4)
- Didn’t Peyton tell Haley in the last episode that she was pregnant?
- Brooke said to Millie that you’re never okay when an ex dates a friend. Is that her way of saying she’s still not okay with Leyton?
- On the other hand, though, her ultimate reaction to Millie was pretty mature and shows how much she’s learned.
- Brooke said Millie is hurting more than Mouth. Don’t know that that’s true.
- Mousetrap is so old school! That was a nice throwback.
- The poker scene was pretty hysterical. Jamie is wise beyond his years!
- Mia cleaned up pretty well!
- “Totally the iron.” “Totally you.”–Mia and Chase
- Karaoke switch was pretty funny; loved the cross-cutting with Jamie and Andre
- How did Jamie and Andre know a song like that?
- Not the first time we’ve seen Nathan dance on a stage!
- Lucas’ paternity test joke was so no funny!
- Q4: “If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.”–Peyton
- Julian’s joke about Brooke spending most of high school naked was funny. And kind of true.
- Do you think Julian’s comment about relating to Brooke through the book was genuine–or just a line?
- Sam’s hand-holding story was tragically-cute.
- Was Nathan really trying to talk Chase out of dating Mia/
- Q5: “If you meet a guy named Chris Keller, punch first, ask questions later.”–Nathan
- Did you catch Fergie and Junk doing their karaoke number? (Love the song they chose!)
- Q6: “We put them down like an hour ago.”–Jamie (while cover in ice cream)
- Chase and Mia were shy and awkward. Not sure if I liked it. Their last scene was very reminiscent of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist.
- Brooke and Julian kinda sucked me in. I guess I’ll be okay if she’s not with Owen or chase.
- Millie and Mouth wrapped up too quickly. Didn’t expect him to let her go so easily. Maybe he won;t?
- Do walkie talkies really work that far apart? I think not.
- Loved the brotherly love between Lucas and Nathan at the end.
- Q7: “Over and out, daddy!”–Jamie
- So Chad Michael Murray directed this episode and that obviously takes a lot of work. But gotta say, there was no discernible difference between this and other episodes.
- Promo was a bit too choppy/all over the place for me. Not really looking forward to James Van Der Beek coming back.
