News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl and Dawson’s Creek

9 04 2010
  • The L.A. Times has an interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210).
  • Teen Today has an interview with Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210) but it’s really…well, you’ll see.
  • Parade.com has an interview with Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210). It’s good but there’s nary a mention of BH90210.
  • You can watch the trailer for Call Me Fitz (previously called Meet Phil Fitz), the upcoming Canadian series starring Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210). Warning: this is NSFW and very far removed from Brandon Walsh! (I think the latter is part of the point.)
  • Thanks to Talking Gossip After Dark for the shoutout!
  • Ausiello has a pretty big Gossip Girl spoiler.
  • Kristin also has some spoilers, but less big.
  • PEOPLE.com has a spoilish “first look” at next week’s Gossip Girl.
  • Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) is now a Global Ambassador for Herbal Essences. (Women’s Wear Daily has an article announcing the deal but you have to be a subscriber to their Web site to read it.)
  • US Weekly has an article on the supposed split between Meester and Sebastian Stan (Carter, Gossip Girl) but I still don’t know if it’s true.
  • Robyn Lively, half-sister of Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl), stars in Letters To God, which is now playing in select theaters.
  • Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl) will be a presenter at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 18.
  • James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) and his girlfriend Kimberly Brook are expecting a baby.

YouTube Video of the Week

1 11 2009

This video just had me at a loss for words as it is just so random.

Rather than trying to describe it, I’ll just take the description that’s given:

“A unique Michael Jackson Tribute, Beverly Hills 90210 style. Michael Jackson’s life had it’s share of drama, not unlike the lives of Brandon Walsh, Brenda Walsh, Kelly Taylor, Dylan McCay, Steve Sanders, Donna Martin, David Silver, and Andrea Zuckerman. Michael Jackson will live on in our hearts as the greatest entertainer of all time, and he will truly be missed, especially by the cast and crew of Beverly Hills 90210. Rest in Peace 1958-2009.”

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Hailee in Tigard, Ore.: Please tell me Brandon Walsh is going to appear on 90210 this season!
So sorry! Jason Priestley is not going to appear in front of the camera on 90210. Priestley says, “I don’t think so. There’s no reason for Brandon to show up at the new and improved West Beverly High.” Let’s all take a moment of silence.

Lily in Detroit: We heard Michelle Trachtenberg might be getting a new love interest on Gossip Girl. Any news?
Not quite yet, but it sounds like Michelle would like to play the field a bit longer on Gossip Girl. “She is making out with all the boys,” says Michelle Trachtenberg. “Nooo, that was my request,” jokes the star. Wanna know what really happens? “You’ll have to see.” (Gossip Girl premieres Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. on the CW.)

Morgaine in Grand Rapids, Mich.: Can’t wait for Californication to return in the fall. Do you have any news?
O.C.
star Peter Gallagher tells us, “I’m going to be on Californication this season, and I’m playing Dean Stacy Koons, the dean of the university where Hank Moody (David Duchovny) works. Embeth Davidtz plays my wife, Felicia Koons. I’m fairly antagonistic with Mr. Duchovny. I had the time of my life—about as much fun as any actor is allowed to have.” Other guest stars on Californication this fall include Kathleen Turner as an evil agent, Rick Springfield as a drug-addled star, Diane Farr as Hank’s T.A. at the university where he’s teaching, Eva Amurri (Susan Sarandon‘s daughter) as a stripper/student and, believe it or not, Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl‘s Chuck), also playing a student.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

If you have any idea what happens on “90210,” please report it on your fabulous blog asap. I’m dying here without scoop on crazy Annie & co. -Lee Oh, crazy Annie is in for a tough time. Dark days are on their way for Miss Wilson… which I’m assuming is a turn the writers decided to take in response to everyone’s annoyance over her bubbly enthusiasm last season. Anyhoo, not only does the entire school think Annie sucks, but her own brother will be avoiding her come fall. And just when you think things can’t get any worse for the chick, Naomi will unleash the scandal of the season on her. Let’s just say Silver and Dixon’s sex video will be old news in no time.

“90210” spoilers! Now! Are Dixon and Silver done or what? -Caroline Done and done. I mean, I think they might still be together when the season first starts, but it won’t last long. Dixon’s going to start dating an older woman, a D.J. in her 20s who’s obsessed with sports. Oh, and p.s., Dixon is going to give surfing the old Brandon Walsh college try… except D will take to it quite naturally.

I have to know what’s up with Naomi and Liam next season. Does she know that Jen is the one who seduced him? -D She knows nothing of the sort. Not yet, anyway. Jen will continue to manipulate the situation, even paying Liam’s mom a visit, telling her that Liam caused Naomi undue stress and that she’d prefer that he keeps his distance.

Is Ryan Matthews staying on “90210” or is he joining the new “Melrose Place”? -Derrick Yeah, those “Melrose” rumors keep swirling, but as of now, he’s staying in BH and will continue to fall deeper in love with that Devil-woman, Jen. You’d think a guy like Ryan would be able to see past her b.s., but I guess not.

Hey Korbi, Can you tell me if Adrianna and Navid will stay together even though they’re not getting married anymore? -Mandy
Yep. They’re still together. For the forseeable future, anyway. Seems Navid’s super jealous of the new, tennis prodigy guy, Teddy…
