News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and The O.C.

24 03 2010
  • Last night’s 90210 (1.5 million viewers) dropped quite a bit in the ratings compared to last week, hitting a new season- and series-low. If you recall, two weeks ago was a season/series-low of 1.7 and now the show has sunk even lower.
  • Love TVGuideMagazine.com’s recap/pop quiz about last night’s 90210. It’s quite funny and quite accurate, IMO.
  • About.com has an interview with Tristan Wilds (Dixon, 90210).
  • The Wild Girl, starring Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) will premiere on the Hallmark Channel April 24. They also reiterate that Shannen Doherty (Brenda, Beverly Hills 90210) will be in one of their movies later this year.
  • At work today, Gossip Cop and I busted a story about Doherty supposedly feuding with her Dancing With The Stars co-star Kate Gosselin.
  • Douglas Emerson (Scott, Beverly Hills 90210) is included in TVGuide.com’s photogallery of ’90s Stars We Want Back on TV.
  • Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) are part of the new Op campaign. They previously featured AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) and Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill).
  • The Austin Post-Bulletin has a surprisingly well-written piece by a male teenager explaining his love of Gossip Girl.
  • The Jewish Journal has an interesting feature on Bryan Greenberg (Jake, One Tree Hill).
  • Melinda Clarke (Julie, The O.C.) makes her first appearance on The Vampire Diaries tomorrow night.

  • Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) and Eddie Cibrian (Casey, Beverly Hills 90210) are each starring in upcoming Hallmark Channel movies.
  • Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) has a new blog post on the SoGoPro site. Also, this is a pretty cool video about SoGoPro’s first year.
  • Busy Philipps (Audrey, Dawson’s Creek) is nominated for Comic Actress You Think Of As Your Secret Crush, Knowing She’s Everyone Else’s, Too in TVGuide.com’s Winter Games.
  • The TV editor at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has an interesting Q & A on Dawson’s Creek. I happen to disagree with both the question and the answer, though! But I have read the book he mentions–Billion-Dollar Kiss: The Kiss That Saved Dawson’s Creek and Other Adventures in TV Writing by Jeffrey Stepakoff–and have discussed on the site here and here.
  • Interesting reference to Dawson’s Creek in this recap of The Vampire Diaries.
  • Interesting reference to The O.C. in this recap of The Vampire Diaries.
  • Ausiello has spoilers on the character Melinda Clarke (Julie, The O.C.) will play on The Vampire Diaries.

  • Amiee Teegarden (from Friday Night Lights) will be making an appearance on the upcoming 90210.
  • The new 90210 will finally be starting in England this month but they got a special bonus episode: 90210: That Was Then, This Is Now.  Jealous!
  • Jason Priestley’s new movie re-airs tonight on the Hallmark Channel.
  • James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) will guest-star on an upcoming episode of Medium.  Not clear yet if this means he’s done with OTH.

Vanessa Marcil in TV Movie

Marcil and BAG (with son Kassius) circa 2004

If you’ve seen her on Beverly Hills, 90210 (Gina) or General Hospital (Brenda), you probably only think of Vanessa Marcil as a vixen or a sexpot.  In a new TV movie (airing Sunday on the Hallmark Channel), she’s playing against type.  The role?  A nanny.  But the highlight of this new interview with TV Guide is definitely the props she gives to ex-fiance/babydaddy Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210)
