3 03 2009RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!
Emily in Napa, Calif.: Any hopes of seeing Michelle Trachtenberg on Joss Whedon‘s Dollhouse?
Don’t look for little Dawn to be back in the Jossverse any time soon. Michelle just told me that while she’s happy for her former boss, she’s not too familiar with his new show. “I haven’t even seen it. I haven’t heard much about it except it’s premiered and congratulations for that!” Don’t be too disappointed, though. Her lack of knowledge on all things Dollhouse is simply because she’s too busy playing the evil Georgina Sparks again. “I’m most excited to be back on Gossip Girl. It has wonderful people, and it’s really nice just having my first day back, hearing ‘Welcome back.’ ”
Drew in Boston: Hey, I’m dying without my Gossip Girl fix! Please, is there any hope for Serena and Dan now that they have a half-dead-sibling? Anything else you can spill?
Correction: They have a half sibling who is fully alive and whom we will see on the show! And because of that and more, I’m told by a source: “Serena and Dan are really over.” Done. Kaput. No hope for them this season. Sorry! Anyone need a hug? Join me in the comments. As for the rest of the season, Serena will be cozying up big time to her new boy-toy (played by Armie Hammer) and a source tells me: “The last few episodes of the season are chock-full of some of the biggest OMFG moments of the series.” I think I just tinkled a little. Why do I love this show so? Darn you, Josh Schwartz and your TV crack!
Martin in New York: One Tree Hill! Will we get a wedding?
Lucas and Peyton’s wedding will happen this season. However, how it will end is a whole other story. (Here’s hoping he doesn’t say the name Rachel.) Also, get ready to see the softer (but still bitchy!) side of Victoria.
Heidi in Bristol, Conn.: I can’t wait for Georgina to come back to Gossip Girl! Any chance we’ll see more of her next season, too?
I’m just as excited as you are, especially after all of the goodies we just revealed about Georgina’s return! Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina) tells us nothing has been decided just yet about her Gossip Girl fate, but her answer did have us leaning toward a yes! “A character like Georgina is so fantastic, and there are so many elements that are exciting and untapped, so you never know.” And while she has nothing planned, Michelle went on to say that she would definitely be open to a full-time TV gig, whether it’s G.G. or something new. “I think the wonderful thing about doing TV shows is that you get a few months out of the year to do films as well, so you get the best out of every world.” Did you hear that Josh Schwartz? Start working on another masterpiece for this girl!
Wallace in Orlando, Fla.: How about some 90210?
With love from our hot and sunny zip code to yours: Naomi’s sister Jen is coming to town, and if you thought Naomi was manipulative and a schemer, just wait till you meet big sis! Also, Adrianna and Navid’s bachelor and bachelorette parties put things into perspective for both characters, including a possible gateway back into drugs for pregnant Adrianna, which would elicit a sternly worded letter from yours truly to that little trollop.

MY NUMBER ONE SADDEST TEEN DRAMA MOMENT
…is actually an entire episode.
1. The school shooting (One Tree Hill, Episode 3.16: With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept)
This is easily the most moving, poignant and meaningful episode of any teen drama. It is also the most tragic. This clip doesn’t even begin to do it justice. I urge you to watch the entire episode as soon as possible.

Ausiello: It’s (drumroll, please) no one! At least not that I know of. In other news, Sara Foster has been cast as Naomi’s sister, Jen. She’ll debut in April and make a beeline for Mr. Matthews.
Question: You haven’t given us 90210 scoop in a while. Care to share some? –Derek
Ausiello: Word around the Peach Pit is that producers are once again pursuing Brian Austin Green for an episode. Timing may be in their favor: Sarah Connor Chronicles wrapped production last Friday.

No new 90210 on tonight? -CJ
Weirdly, 90210 won’t air a fresh episode for over a month. The show returns March 31st, but I have scoop to tide you over in the meantime: Remember how I told you Naomi’s shady older sister Jen will grace Beverly Hills with her presence this Spring? Well, it seems she’ll catch the eye of a certain West Bev teacher by the name of Ryan, who doesn’t at first realize what a psycho she is…

YouTube Video of the Week
15 02 2009Chad Michael Murray is one of just two actors in the teen drama genre with a special distinction: he’s had a significant role on two series! CMM appeared on 12 episodes of Dawson’s Creek circa 2001-2002. His character, Charlie Todd, wooed both Jen and Joey.
Just a year-and-a-half later he made his debut as Lucas, one of the lead characters on One Tree Hill.
Here’s a look at CMM’s appearances on DC.
CMM was the only one to hold this distinction until a few months ago when James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) began appearing on One Tree Hill as Dixon. Now both CMM and James have appeared on each other’s shows and acted in scenes together!
Coincidentally, CMM and Hilarie Burton (Peyton) shared one scene on Dawson’s Creek as well, when she guest-starred as herself. This was, obviously, pre-OTH.

Biggest Character Transformations
4 02 2009For the next few days I’ll be looking at the characters who’ve had the biggest transformations over the course of a series. In other words, the people who started out as A and ended up as Z, someone totally different than who they were initially. This could be due to logical character growth and progression or dramatic license to rewrite the character.
Without further ado, in no particular order:
TEEN DRAMAS’ BIGGEST CHARACTER TRANSFORMATIONS
DONNA MARTIN (Beverly Hills, 90210)
Who She Was: Kelly’s air-headed sidekick who once wore two contacts in the same eye and struggled in school due to a learning disorder; virginal Daddy’s girl.

Who She Became: One of the show’s most memorable characters (Donna Martin Graduates, anyone?) and one-half of the show’s most-lasting couple. Donna, who intended to be a virgin til marriage, gave it up to David (her future husband, at least) in season 7. By the later seasons, Donna had gone from secondary character to fourth-billed, with her own boutique and a successful career as a fashion designer.
JEN LINDLEY (Dawson’s Creek)
Who She Was: As Jen herself said, “the second I stepped out of that cab and onto the creek, I was the instigator, you know? The girl who caused problems and rocked the creek and upset the delicate emotional balance of Capeside.”

Who She Became: Though largely insecure still, Jen shed her bad girl reputation and developed strong friendships with the others in Capeside, particularly Jack who let her be his “fag-hag.” Jen moved to New York in the last season where she repaired her fragile relationship with her mother and helped her grandmother through breast cancer. In the series finale, which took place 5 years in the future, we found Jen had become a mother to an adorable infant named Amy.

How It Ended: Dawson’s relationship with Jen doesn’t last long and he soon realizes he has feelings for Joey, too. They are together off and on throughout the series (they end off; see below) but Dawson and Jen also get back together for a short time in season 5.

DAWSON-JOEY-PACEY
How It Started: In season 3, Pacey begins to develop feelings for Joey. Much to Joey’s surprise, she does as well. They hesitantly pursue a relationship in secret but Joey calls things off after Dawson finds out and reacts negatively. By the end of the season, though, Dawson realizes he cannot stand in the way of their love and so Joey and Pacey begin a relationship.
How It Ended: The memories of her relationship with Dawson hang like a cloud over both Joey and Pacey during their relationship. They break up towards the end of the season 4, and Joey and Dawson share a kiss in that season’s finale. Throughout seasons 5 and 6, Joey and Dawson struggle with the idea of being together again. In season 6, Joey and Pacey do get back together before a short time before Joey calls it off. In the series finale, which takes place 5 years after the end of season 6, Joey is again torn by Dawson and Pacey. Ultimately, though, she chooses to spend her life with Pacey.
