News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, The O.C. and More

18 03 2009
  • Jossip has a very un-complimentary look at some CW actresses, including Shannen Doherty (Brenda, 90210), Jennie Garth (Kelly, 90210), Kelly Rutherford (Lily, Gossip Girl) and Mischa Barton (Sonja, A Beautiful Life).
  • Annie (Shenae Grimes, 90210) is getting a new enemy in Phoebe, to be played by Lily Collins.
  • JustJared has photos of the 90210 cast doing their Habitat for Humanity project.
  • Jessica Lucas (Kimberly, 90210) has been cast in the Melrose Place remake.
  • Photos surfaced of Blair (Leighton Meester) kissing Nate (Chace Crawford) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) in the same outfit.  E!Online is wondering if it’s just to throw fans off.  You decide.  Or just wait for the episode to air!  (A similar photo of Blair and Chuck is in the March 30th issue of PEOPLE.)
  • In the same PEOPLE issue, there’s also a tiny photo of Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl) and her “idol” singer Debbie Harry.
  • Also in that issue, Sebastian Stan (Carter, Gossip Girl) doesn’t confirm or deny that he’s engaged to Meester.  He just says “I don’t pay attention [to reports].  My friends trust my word above anything else they hear.”
  • Westwick is included in a TVGuide.com photo gallery of “Foreign Actors with Great American Accents.”
  • No Doubt will appear as Snowed Out in the May 11th episode of Gossip Girl as part of the Lily flashback.
  • Josh Schwartz talks about the Gossip Girl spin-off here but it’s nothing we don’t already know.
  • Nikki Reed (Sadie, The O.C.) says she goes to Jennie Garth’s (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) house to play poker with her Twilight co-star and Garth’s husband, Peter Facinelli.
  • There’s a strange promo for next week’s One Tree Hill with the cast appearing as characters from The Sims.
  • The New York Post deemed student-teacher relationships on TV the “Pacey Witter Effect.”

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and 90210

12 03 2009
  • Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) will likely be cast in the upcoming film The Roommate.
  • Meester is also part of an ad campaign for Reebok.
  • PEOPLE has a photo of Brittany Snow filming as Lily for the Gossip Girl spin-off.
  • You know how I feel about tabloids but InTouch has a very interesting photo spread of Ed Westick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and some guy.  Scroll towards the bottom to see the pics.
  • There are two One Tree Hill cast interviews posted on YouTube.  Not sure when exactly they’re from, though.
  • AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) hints about her character’s future storyline and Danneel Harris (Rachel, One Tree Hill) says she’d be open for a return to One Tree Hill in a new video interview.
  • McCord was in a car accident earlier this week but, thankfully, she wasn’t injured.
  • Shannen Doherty (Brenda, Beverly Hills 90210) will return for 90210 for the season finale.
  • A New York Post writer is getting fed up with the Adrianna pregnancy story.
  • 90210 has partnered with Habitat for Humanity in real life and on the show.
  • Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) is on tonight’s Smallville.
  • Jossip includes 90210 in article showing that pop culture has returned to the 90s.

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, The O.C. and More

4 02 2009
  • E!Online has video of Tori Spelling (Donna) filming with Jennie Garth (Kelly) and Jessica Stroup (Silver) on the 90210 set.  Nothing revealing.  They also have semi-revealing scoop about Gossip Girl (but nothing new if you read the spoiler post from earlier today!).
  • Don’t usually post tabloid gossip but this is interesting, considering there’s been rumors for months: US Weekly has a photo of Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa, Gossip Girl) kissing.  Or at least it seems to be Ed.  Honestly not 100 percent sure it’s him.
  • But if you want to spot Chuck himself in real life (or someone like him), you should read this post from Jossip.
  • Or you can see Westwick at the upcoming Comic Con, where he’ll promote S. Darko.  The film also stars James Lafferty (Nathan, One Tree Hill).
  • Maureen Ryan from The Chicago Tribune has a cool interview with Josh Schwartz on the role music will play in the Gossip Girl spin-off.
  • I don’t watch Big Love but apparently it improves upon what The O.C. got right in–and only in–the show’s first season.  (For more on what The O.C. got right and then got wrong, as alluded to in the article, check out my own piece here!)
