News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl, and The O.C.

19 08 2009
  • This is the first promo pic I’ve seen for One Tree Hill season 7.  The background looks incredibly fake and the cast looks photoshopped together from individual pics.
  • Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) is *not* in this week’s SoGoPro podcast.
  • Korbi posted pictures from the 90210 season 2 premiere.
  • There are also spoilish pictures floating around.
  • TVGuideMagazine.com is saying Ryan Eggold (Ryan, 90210) won’t be crossing over to Melrose Place but I’m still confused.  Instead, apparently, Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) and Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210)–who both appeared on the original Melrose–are on their wishlist.
  • Garth apparently deleted her Twitter account.
  • AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) stopped by my old stomping grounds (the Seventeen office).  You can read the interview here.
  • GlamBuzz and GlamBush also have interviews with McCord.
  • There’s a video of Laura Leighton (Sophie, Beverly Hills 90210) discussing her return to Melrose Place.
  • 90210 and Gossip Girl are included on Latina.com’s list of 25 Can’t Miss Shows Starring Latin Actors.
  • The New York Post posted the gag reel from the new Gossip Girl DVD.
  • Gossip Girl will be one of the shows available on YouTube, thanks to a deal with Time Warner.
  • Even though a relationship hasn’t been confirmed, Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) and Twilight’s Ashley Greene are in a PEOPLE.com poll on summer romances.
  • One of the members of Cobra Starship admitted he didn’t know who Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) was before they collaborated on Good Girls Go Bad.
  • E!Online has an article on The Beautiful Life that says storylines for Mischa Barton (Marissa, The O.C.) won’t be altered due to her recent personal issues.  The story also says a crossover with Gossip Girl is possible.
  • E!Online also has an interview with Peter Gallagher (Sandy, The O.C.) on his Californication role.

  • The July 28 issue of Soap Opera Digest features a Beverly Hills 90210 trivia question: who donned a mermaid outfit for a costume party?  It’s a pretty easy one for old-school fans but note that it wasn’t just a costume party–it was Halloween.

  • Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) will be back on 90210 next season for “multiple episodes,” according to Ausiello.
  • John Schneider has been cast as Liam’s (Matt Lanter, 90210) step-father.  Fun fact: Apparently Schneider got awfully close with AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) on Nip/Tuck.
  • Korbi posted photos from McCord’s birthday celebration.

YouTube Video of the Week

7 06 2009

While browsing YouTube last night, I came across a SOAPNet teen drama promo that I hadn’t seen before.  And if I hadn’t seen it, changes are you haven’t either.

YouTube Video of the Week

31 05 2009

In January, one of my YouTube Video of the Weeks was a One Tree Hill video about Leyton, set to Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”

It was one of the best videos I’ve seen any for teen drama couple, let alone Leyton.

I recently found a Brucas video set to the same song and, in the interest of fairness, the video is below.

Despite Leyton’s marriage, we all know the Brucas vs. Leyton debate rages on.  I don’t really mean to add fuel to the fire, but I do think it’s interesting to look at both videos as they have a lot of similarities.

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Bryan Greenberg!

24 05 2009

Greenberg (Jake, One Tree Hill) turned 31 today.

Check out this tribute video on YouTube.
