RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Q: One of my favorite shows is Gossip Girl. I pretty much know the whole cast, so what can you tell me that I don’t know?” —Ashley Tisdale

A: Well, Ashley, I don’t think you know new cast member Matt Barr. He appears May 11 in the Lily-centric spin-off episode as young Keith van der Woodsen, who may wind up being Serena’s father. “Wait and see,” says Gossip executive producer Stephanie Savage. But she reveals that we’ll finally meet Serena and Eric’s father in Season 3, and Matt says the show will be introducing an all grown-up version of Keith. So you do the math. A casting call will be going out for an actor who resembles a more mature Matt. I’m thinking Matthew Modine.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!
Please tell me the banana from last week’s racy episode of 90210 is replacing Annie as the show’s main character. At least it had appeal. Get it? Lee
MICKEY: Hey Lee, smell my flower. I’m sorry to say that Shenae Grimes will be sticking around. (Dustin Milligan, who plays Ethan, on the other hand, will not be.) If it helps, I’m hearing that Naomi’s special brand of emotional terrorism will again set its laser sights on Annie toward the end of the season. So, there’s that for you to anticipate. In the meantime, keep the banana out of it.

Will there be a continuation of Gossip Girl‘s storyline about Lily and Rufus’ child? Yankee
MICKEY: I had a college roommate who called me Yankee. I called him A–hole. For the Supremes fan in the house, the love child/never-meant-to-be will show up May 4 to wreak havoc on Lily and Rufus’ blissful, excitement-free union. I’m hearing it’s kind of cliff-hang-y, as the season’s final two episodes will tee up the Brittany Snow spin-off and reveal exactly what Bart Bass had in that envelope.

Stephanie Savage on putting fan-favorite couples together

7 04 2009

“We think we had good success on [our first series] “The O.C.”, for example, with the Seth and Summer storyline, where they were really together as a couple for the vast majority of the show. We told stories where they were having issues and they were having obstacles, but in the context of them as a couple. So it’s not necessarily the case that once a couple comes together, they stop being interesting or stop being able to generate story.”

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Donna in Las Vegas: Any news on Gossip Girl?

Check out the spoiler section for more dish on Serena, Mr. Serena and Georgina! We actually have to wait until April 20 for new Gossip Girl episodes, but that just means we’re going to have to while the hours while we wait with a new Love Debate. If you’re a fan of either Nate-Blair or Blair-Chuck, we’re now taking arguments in favor of both sides. Write up 250 words or less about why Blair belongs with a certain guy, email it in to tvdiva@eonline.com and in the near future, we’ll post the best, most persuasive points of view and open the floor to discussion about which pairing is best. Get your submissions in by Friday if you have something to say about Blair’s one true partner.

Jamie in Newport Beach, Calif.: Any truth to the story that 90210 producers are trying to get the rights from Josh Schwartz to use his character from The O.C., Luke Ward (Chris Carmack), so they could bring him onto the show as Ethan’s cousin?

Wow, great rumor. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing good ol’ Luke on 90210. A source close to the show tells us that’s a solid “not true.”

Zarina in Connecticut: On Gossip Girl, Serena got married to Gabriel? OMG!
Darn you, promo monkeys! Always with the misdirection! But we can save our OMGs on this one, because Serena did not get married for reals.

Jenna in Irving, Texas: When does Georgina return to Gossip Girl?
Georgina returns April 27 and sticks around for the last four episodes of the season (the finale is on May 18). Georgina may have become a good Christian girl, but Michelle Trachtenberg teases that she’s still causing her fair share of trouble, “Her last name is Sparks, so sparks will fly.” Michelle adds that she is “causing quite a stir, as Georgina does,” before the end of the season. Why kind of stir? Well, sources whisper that Blair had better beware. (Eeee!)
