  • Twelve, starring Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl), opened today in limited release.
  • Thanks to Alyssa for giving me the heads-up that Hot Topic is selling a Beverly Hills 90210 t-shirt. I want, I want, I want!

  • Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) was on the Today show this morning.
  • Wonderwall has an interview with Garth about her work with the American Association of Orthodontists and their StyleNSmile campaign. I believe this is what Garth also discussed on the Today show.

  • Doug Liman (executive producer, The O.C.) is doing a documentary pilot for A&E called The Unexplained.
  • The Extra Man, featuring Katie Holmes (Joey, Dawson’s Creek), opened today in limited release.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More

5 08 2010
  • According to a new study, the median age of One Tree Hill viewers is 30. Gossip Girl’s is 27 and 90210 is 31.

  • Examiner.com has an interview with Allison Scagliotti (Abby, One Tree Hill).
  • RENT at the Hollywood Bowl, featuring Aaron Tveit (Tripp, Gossip Girl), premieres tomorrow night. Broadway World has a fabulous video interview with Tveit and some of the other stars, plus director Neil Patrick Harris. Devastated that I can’t see it.
  • Kathleen Robertson (Clare, Beverly Hills 90210) sold a pilot script to (the Canadian) network Global. Called “Your Time Is Up,” Robertson plans to also star in and produce it.
  • Per the above article, the film “A Night For Dying Tigers” features Robertson and will screen at the Toronto Film Festival.
  • Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) will be on The Wendy Williams Show tomorrow.
  • The trailer for Burlesque, which features Christina Aguilera (music guest-star, Beverly Hills 90210), Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl), Peter Gallagher (Sandy, The O.C.) and Cam Gigandet (Volchok, The O.C.), was released. It also stars Eric Dane, husband to Rebecca Gayheart (Toni, Beverly Hills 90210).

  • Kristin has a fun video interview with Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) where he reiterates his thoughts on Pacey-Con and potentially appearing on The Vampire Diaries, which is executive produced by Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek). Jackson also finds out in the video that James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) got married. Can’t decide if I’m surprised or not surprised that he didn’t know.

News Roundup: 90210, One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl

4 08 2010
  • SoapNet announced a Beverly Hills 90210 and One Tree Hill marathon for this Sunday, during OTH’s normal 3-7pm timeslot, featuring two “school-themed episodes” of each. I was going to wait to mention this but it’s worth noting now that OTH will not air in its normal slot next Sunday, to allow for a special General Hospital marathon featuring Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Marcil now has an official site.
  • Marcil will be on The View tomorrow.
  • Zap2it has a brief interview with Marcil about General Hospital.

  • Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl) is in a new PSA for Stand Up To Cancer.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, The O.C. and Dawson’s Creek

3 08 2010
  • The CW has started releasing teaser trailers for the fall season, so be sure to check out the video portion of their site and the individual show pages.
  • Despite The CW confirming it to me and others last week, Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) tweeted today that One Tree Hill still has not been given a full-season order, and the Real One Tree Hill Twitter account seems to be backing her up. Zap2it, which had also confirmed the 22-episode order, has now retracted their confirmation, saying the order remains at 13. Regardless, there is clearly a disconnect somewhere between the network, the show and the information being distributed by both. I cannot verify what information has been exchanged between network and cast/crew. All I can tell you is what I’ve been told by the network, which is always subject to change. Believe what you wish and, well, sit tight.
  • Bush has a new blog post on her official site, where she announces she’s running a half-marathon this fall.
  • Gossip Cop and I busted a rumor about Mischa Barton (Marissa, The O.C.) “quitting Hollywood.”
  • Heroine TV’s “Dawson’s Creek: It Should Have Been Joey’s Creek” is a must-read amazing post with reflections on the show, the core four and (swoon) Joey and Pacey. Make sure you check it out. Immediately.
  • Remember the “limo” the Dawson’s Creek gang took to senior prom? Star News tracked it down.
  • A teaser trailer for Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark, starring Katie Holmes (Joey, Dawson’s Creek) has been released.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More

29 07 2010
  • The CW had an event today, similar to the upfront, for the TCA (Television Critics Association), a somewhat-selective organization of television journalists. CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff spoke and took questions before separate panels for Nikita, Hellcats and Gossip Girl.
  • The Futon Critic is reporting that Ostroff confirmed One Tree Hill has been given a full-season order for the upcoming season, but, as of this moment, I am not seeing other outlets reporting that.
  • Ostroff told Star News last night that OTH could be renewed after season 8, which Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) thinks is “fishy.” Today Ostroff said that it was too soon to discuss whether this is the final season.
  • Ostroff also said there WASN’T an alternate ending for OTH last season, in case the show wasn’t renewed. (Something I maintained all along, if you recall.)
  • Ostroff reiterated that the morning-after Nielsen ratings are not the only factor that is important to them when evaluating a show’s success (hence the renewals of Gossip Girl, 90210, etc.). TVByTheNumbers.com has an interesting piece reacting to this.
  • For more on the session with Ostroff, check out these live-blogs and recaps.
  • The Gossip Girl panel featured Ed Westwick (Chuck), Josh Schwartz (executive producer), Stephanie Savage (executive producer) and Joshua Safran (executive producer).
  • A preview of season 4 was shown and some spoilers were divulged. Taylor Momsen (Jenny) will be back (something else I’ve maintained all along), and the producers admitted that they have an idea of how the show will eventually end but said it’s a long time off.
  • For more on the Gossip Girl panel, check out these live-blogs and recaps. (Warning: spoilers included.)
  • Korbi has a spoiler-filled Q & A with Schwartz and Savage.
  • Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) was on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night.
  • Crawford spoke with MTV about Juliet (Katie Cassidy, Gossip Girl) and GG shooting in Paris, which he did not partake in.
  • AfterElton spoke with Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210), Michael Steger (Navid, 90210) and Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210) individually about the possibility that one of their characters will be the one that comes out this season. Interestingly enough, they each give contradictory stories on how everyone found out about the storyline.
  • Crushable’s interview with Lanter on the same topic is a bit contradictory, too, as he says he knows which character it is, but the above interviews seem to suggest they don’t know who it is, if I’m reading this all correctly. Oh, and there’s totally Lannie spoilers in that interview.
  • AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) spoke to Us Weekly about Kim and Khloe Kardashian’s guest appearance.
  • Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) performed a powerful monologue by Eve Ensler for MTV.
  • Rachel Bilson (Summer, The O.C.) will reprise her How I Met Your Mother role.
  • Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) hilariously spoke with MTV about Pacey-Con. LOL at the Jen-Con comment. I’m sure the reunion thing, though, will end up being blown way out of proportion by the media.

  • Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) has a new blog post.
  • Joe Manganiello (Owen, One Tree Hill) has been promoted to regular status on True Blood.
  • Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl) will be part of the ad campaign for John Galliano’s new fragrance.
  • Elizabeth Allen, who directed an episode of Gossip Girl in season 2, discussed working on the show and with the cast in an interview.
  • Emma Caulfield (Susan, Beverly Hills 90210) has been cast on Life Unexpected, which also stars Shiri Appleby (Rene, Beverly Hills 90210) and Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek).

Okay, here it goes: Look for Victoria and Millicent to jeopardize the future of Brooks company. (BTW, that first part about the three series regulars getting whacked was a joke. It’s okay to laugh.)

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Monica: Please, some good Gossip Girl news! I heard that Clémence (Eva) is going to be a series regular. Please say that’s not so! I want hope for Chuck and Blair.
Here’s the teensy bit of hope I can offer: I’m told Clémence Poésy is not a series regular for the coming season. I’m also told that Blair does not have a new love interest in the works. So maybe that’s…something?! In other news, you know those photos of Dan and Vanessa pushing around a stroller? I hear that’s Dan’s actual baby! I’m still in shock they’re going through with that storyline…You? Should be Crazytown.

Gina in Tallahassee: Will Dan and Serena be together when this season starts?
I’m hearing no. I can’t imagine what she doesn’t see in her sorta-kinda half brother soon to be with child!

Rebecca in New York: Hey, what’s with Sophia Bush hinting that she and Austin Nichols will get married on One Tree Hill? Is there a wedding or not?! Also, will Peyton and Lucas ever come back?
I’m hearing there’s no wedding yet in the works. Probably some day, but I’m told there are no current plans right now.

Brynn in San Diego: How about some 90210 scoop?
Forget Liam. Annie’s found a sexy new mature man, and it’s all because of some spilled coffee. Thanks to a little run-in with a sexy stranger, Annie is going to find someone she has a lot in common with (theater geek, anyone?), but unfortunately, at least initially, Naomi’s ex will stand in the way of a little lovin’. Oh, and did we mention that this guy might just be related to Mr. Liam?

Jasmine in North Dakota: I love Annalynne McCord. Any fun stuff coming up for her ?
Jen and Naomi are going to continue duking it out, only this time there are lawyers involved. And N’s eight-month pregnant sis is determined to keep her equally unstable sis away from the family funds, but luckily (?) for Naomi the court sides with her this time around.
