News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, The O.C. and Dawson’s Creek

26 06 2010
  • In reply to a question asked by a fan, Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) tweeted “Season 8 is our final year…” but later clarified with “This is the last season anyone is contracted for. I don’t mean to break any ♥s, I just want to be honest with you guys. I guess we’ll see!”
  • Katie Cassidy, of The CW’s Melrose Place, has been cast in a recurring role on Gossip Girl. She’s currently filming the movie Monte Carlo with Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl).
  • PopEater has an interesting article that asks why Miley Cyrus gets so much criticism when Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl), who is younger and arguably more outlandish, doesn’t.
  • The Vans Warped Tour, featuring Momsen’s band The Pretty Reckless, started last night.
  • SoapNet will air a July 4th marathon of The O.C. called Oh Say Can You O.C. from 3-7pm. I’ll post a reminder that morning.
  • Just found out James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) has an official page on Facebook.

  • Digital Spy has a very interesting video interview with Tristan Wilds (Dixon, 90210).
  • Shenae Grimes (Annie, 90210) will be a presenter at the MuchMusic Awards later this month.
  • It’s not too late to book a ticket to Nashville for the Jana Kramer (Alex, One Tree Hill) concert on the 16th, featuring a “special One Tree Hill surprise.” There are a few spots remaining. There will also be an open rehearsal the day before at Steve’s Restaurant & Bar at 7pm.
  • The One Tree Hill Season 7 DVD will be released August 17 and Gossip Girl Season 3 will be released on August 24, the same day as the 90210 Season 2 DVD. (Note that the press release for GG seems to overstate the ratings for season 3.)
  • Kevin Zegers (Damien, Gossip Girl) is starring in a Rock Mafia video with Miley Cyrus.
  • Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl) and Olivia Wilde (Alex, The O.C.) are both nominated for PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarians of 2010. Bell won in 2006.
  • Navi Rawat (Theresa, The O.C.) will have a three-episode appearance on Burn Notice, beginning later this month.
