Weekly Poll

14 04 2010

In the last Weekly Poll, regarding Amanda Schull’s return to One Tree Hill, 58 percent of voters said they believe the Sara storyline should’ve been left alone. Twenty-two percent aren’t sure yet while 19 percent think the Katie storyline is going to be interesting. (This only added up to 99 percent. I do not know why.) A larger majority–66 percent–thought Gossip Girl’s Chuck absolutely went too far this time, while 29 percent are torn and just 7 percent thought he hadn’t. (This added up to 101 percent. I do not know why.) On 90210, 57 percent said Jasper is creepy, with 10 percent saying he is misunderstood. Thirty-one percent thought he was both and only 1 percent thought he was neither. (This only added up to 99 percent. I do not know why.)

Weekly Poll

7 04 2010

As you may have noticed, there wasn’t a Weekly Poll last week. Since I had to do reaction posts, which weren’t completed til later in the week, I didn’t have poll questions based on that week’s episodes to use in time.

In the last Weekly Poll, fifty-two percent of voters said they would not be satisfied by a One Tree Hill series finale that didn’t include Lucas and Peyton. Still, 33 percent said they would be while 15 percent said they were torn. A bigger majority, 64 percent, think Jenny on Gossip Girl is totally annoying lately. Just 20 percent find her tolerable and only 16 percent say she’s totally awesome. Forty-six percent think 90210’s Annie should just confess but 5 percent think it will ruin her life even more. Twenty-six percent aren’t sure and are scared for her either while way 23 percent aren’t sure and don’t care either way.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl and Dawson’s Creek

23 02 2010
  • Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
  • Last night’s One Tree Hill (2.2 million viewers) rose a bit in the ratings compared to last week. The CW sent out a press release touting the ratings increase–but remember, last week was a season- and (I think) series-low and 2.2 is about the season average so this isn’t much to brag about. The network also says this is the highest rating since Dec. 7, but three out of the last five episodes (not including this one) had a 2.2 (rounded) rating so I don’t get that part, and considering the Dec. 7 rating was 2.6, this, again, isn’t brag-worthy.
  • Mike Grubbs (Grubbs, One Tree Hill) has a funny vlog that sorta kinda features James Lafferty (Nathan, One Tree Hill).
  • The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast has an interview with Amanda Schull (Sara/Katie, One Tree Hill).
  • Korbi is asking which Tuesday show you miss the most and 90210 is one of the options.
  • Zuzanna Szadkowski (Dorota, Gossip Girl) spoke at Barnard, her alma mater, last weekend.
  • The Celebrity Cafe has an interview with James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek).
  • IFC.com has an interesting article on Michelle Williams (Jen, Dawson’s Creek) and her career.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

As you probably know by now, Gossip Girl‘s Chuck and Blair are going to be going through a rough patch caused by Chuck.

So what does Chuck do to Blair that leads to the crisis? Is it true that a fling with Jenny Humphrey is involved? Get the exclusive scoop on that.

Patricia in Boston: At first I was just sad about the Chuck-Blair breakup news, but now I am freaking the hell out. Is it true that the horrible thing Chuck does is sleep with Jenny Humphrey? I’ll never watch Gossip Girl again if that’s what happens!
Well, don’t delete that Gossip Girl season pass from your TiVo just yet, because sources assure us that this particular rumor is totally false. So, while we can’t tell you yet what bad thing Chuck does do, we can assure that you, no, Chuck does not sleep with Jenny. Whew.

Lauren in New York City: I’m so sad about Chuck and Blair breaking up on Gossip Girl! Anything new on that?
Ed Westwick
himself says of Gossip Girl‘s upcoming storylines, “It all gets set on its side. Everything goes upside down. Things are going to get even more dramatic than they always are.” And Gossip boss Josh Schwartz tweeted, “Trust. #ChuckandBlair.” Believe the man. Josh is the one who made Chuck and Blair so awesome in the first place, and he wouldn’t be breaking them up unless it was part of a greater plan, right?

Chloe in Grand Island, Neb.: I approve of the casting of Billy Baldwin (although John Slattery would have been ideal) as Serena’s dad on Gossip Girl, but I now have to know before I get too excited. Is Daddy van der Woodsen completely evil, or does he have any redeeming qualities?
We’re told we’ll see that William van der Woodsen does want to get back into Serena and Eric’s life on Gossip Girl. That doesn’t mean he’s a pure good guy—his motives for seeing them could be totally dark side—but at least he’s no longer totally dissing his own children.

Hope in Worcester, Mass.: Please give me some One Tree Hill scoop!
We see Sarah, Clay’s (Robert Buckley) dead wife again—but she won’t be Sarah. (Dun dun dunnnnn…)

Phil in Nevada: What’s happening when Melrose Place returns?
Colin Egglesfield
and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz only have one episode left, then Nick Zano joins the cast to stir things up. At the GBK Golden Globes gift lounge, Michael Rady told us he’s looking forward to the newbie. “We’re pals, and then…” he teased about Jonah and Nick’s character before stopping himself. “I don’t want to get in trouble, but the murder mystery is out, and that gets filled in with original Melrose, L.A. fun.” That said, insiders tell me that unlike 90210, which is trending toward the new kids, Melrose will be splitting its attention between the youngsters and the old guard likes of Amanda, Michael Mancini and dead Sydney.

We already know Amanda Schull (Sara) will be back.

Laura Leighton (Sophie, Beverly Hills 90210) plays Sydney on Melrose Place.

  • This article by The Frisky really nails some of my points on the problems with Gossip Girl–and why The O.C. was so much better.
  • Both Gossip Girl and 90210 made Zap2it’s list of the worst TV theme songs of current shows.
  • Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) lost to AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) in an Access Hollywood poll of who should be the next Bond Girl.  They both lost, though, to Eliza Dushku.
  • SoapNet also has a poll asking which girl was the best for Dylan (Luke Perry, Beverly Hills 90210).  I think you know by now that my vote will always go to Kelly (Jennie Garth, Beverly Hills 90210), as they are my all-time favorite couple.
  • They also have another poll asking which actor from The O.C. has been the most successful.
