90210 Contest Winners!

So I have to admit I’m a bit disappointed in how this contest turned out.  It was the third contest I’ve done on TDW and easily the least successful–only 2 people entered.

I’m wondering why this is.  Are you guys not interested in 90210 prizes?  Or were you unfamiliar with the bands?  I would appreciate any feedback you care to provide.

I thought about extending the deadline but that risked the possibility of no further entries anyway, and would be unfair to the 2 that did enter.

So I decided that those 2–g90210th and Chrissy–deserve to be the winners (and I honestly did like their entries).  They will each receive a copy of Soundtrack 90210 and a 90210 poster.

I still have one CD and one poster left for a future contest.

  • Apparently there is a photo spread of Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210) in the new issue of Life & Style.
  • Lindsay Price (Janet, Beverly Hills) is on the October cover of Fitness.
  • Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) is on the October cover of Cookie.
  • Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) gives Halloween party tips in the October 26 issue of PEOPLE.  Also in that issue is a short Q & A with the ex-wife of Tori’s hubby, Dean McDermott.  Apparently she and Tori get along for the most part.
  • In the same issue of PEOPLE, AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) says she loves dark nail polish.
  • The same issue of PEOPLE has pictures of Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl), Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) and Olivia Wilde (Alex, The O.C.).
  • The same issue criticizes this season of Gossip Girl.
  • And the same issue has an interview with Penn Badgley (Dan, Gossip Girl).
  • Mark Schwahn (creator, One Tree Hill) is working on two new projects for The CW.
  • Eliza Dushku is dating Rick Fox (Dante, One Tree Hill).
  • Rachel Bilson (Summer, The O.C.) is on the November cover of Lucky.

  • Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
  • Last night’s One Tree Hill (2.5 million viewers) and Gossip Girl (2.4 million viewers rounded up) increased its ratings significantly compared to last week.
  • There’s another Mark Schwahn preview for next week’s One Tree Hill.
  • There’s a YouTube video of Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) on KTLA and another video of her on The Bonnie Hunt Show.
  • There’s a new One Tree Hill Connection podcast, which features an interview with India de Beaufort (Miranda).
  • I just found out Scott Holroyd (David, One Tree Hill) is married to Allison Munn (Lauren, One Tree Hill). Damn.  I should’ve asked her about that in our interview!  You can follow him on Twitter via @scottholroyd.
  • Penn Badgley (Dan, Gossip Girl) confirmed to MTV that Lady Gaga will appear on an upcoming episode.
  • MTV also has details on Badgley attending the premiere for The Stepfather, his new film. He’s also the subject of this week’s edition of their column Star Gazing.
  • PEOPLE.com has a short piece on Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) and her love for designer shoes.
  • EW.com spoke with Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) about her new song, Somebody to Love. Meester says she can’t find love–which is an interesting thing to say if you’re dating Sebastian Stan (Carter, Gossip Girl). Unless they aren’t anymore?  She made a similar comment on the radio this morning with Ryan Seacrest.

  • The Los Angeles Times has a story on the release of the soundtrack.
  • TVGuide.com has a story on AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) and her involvement with Blind Project, an organization that tries to help victims of human trafficking.  I actually remember talking to AnnaLynne about this last year.  She’s very passionate about a number of issues.
  • Complex.com has the first piece I’ve seen on Mekia Cox (Sasha, 90210).  I never made the connection before that she was on One Tree Hill!  Now I totally remember the episode: the season 3 ep Brave New World as Faith, Lucas’ old friend.

  • Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210) tweeted a bunch of pictures from the Habitat For Humanity 5K Walk, where he and some of the other 90210 stars were Saturday morning.
  • The Miami Herald has an interview with Sara Foster (Jen, 90210).
  • HitFix posted one of the songs (in its entirety) that will be on the upcoming 90210 soundtrack, which comes out Tuesday.
  • Ausiello has an interview with Michael Cudlitz (Tony, Beverly Hills 90210) about Southland’s cancellation.
  • You can still sign up for the One Tree Hill Reunion in January. I’ll be there!

  • I will be unable to live-blog 90210 tomorrow night since it is being pre-empted in my area.  I will get a reaction post for it, as well as for One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl, up as soon as possible.
  • I created a new page on the site, where you can find a lot of my past original content.  Eventually it will be on the navigation bar above, along with the Twitter Directory and Interview Index.
  • The CW created a page for the 90210 soundtrack, where you can preview all the songs.
  • Hollywire has a video interview with Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210).
  • Thanks to Danielle of foxy-megan.com for letting me know Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) was briefly on Saturday Night Live last weekend.  You can watch the clip here.
  • The CW Source has new podcasts, reviewing last week’s One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl episodes.

  • This is kind of random but I thought it was interesting: Sweet Valley High, which starred Brittany Daniels (Eve, Dawson’s Creek) is being remade by Diablo Cody, who had a cameo on 90210 last season.

  • Last night’s 90210 earned about the same rating as the premiere last week, 2.4 million viewers.
  • The first soundtrack for 90210–creatively titled Soundtrack 90210–will be released October 13th, featuring never-before-released songs by top bands that will all play on the show this season.  Stay tuned for exciting news about this and TDW!

  • Ray Wise (Daniel Hunter, Beverly Hills 90210) has joined the cast of Dollhouse.
  • The CW sent out a press release touting Gossip Girl’s ratings and market shares for Monday night.
  • Variety is now reporting that Gossip Girl actually did better than One Tree Hill last night, with 2.55 for GG and 2.45 for OTH.
  • Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) and Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) will be presenters at Sunday night’s Primetime Emmys.
  • E!Online has a semi-spoilish interview with Joanna Garcia (Bree, Gossip Girl).  Nothing really new, though.
  • Examiner.com has an article on some of the One Tree Hill cast being at the charity fundraiser and one on the new season.
  • The Mark Schwahn preview for the next episode of One Tree Hill is on YouTube.
  • There is a new SoGoPro podcast featuring Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill).
