News Roundup: Gossip Girl, 90210, One Tree Hill and The O.C.

1 02 2010
  • Broadcasting & Cable has two very interesting articles on The CW. The first analyzes the network and its future and the second is an interview with Dawn Ostroff, the top executive.
  • The above articles make it seem like Gossip Girl and 90210 are surefire renewals. We’ll see!
  • TVByTheNumbers.com has an interesting analysis of the above articles.
  • Reuters has an article on Twelve, which stars Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl).
  • Somebody to Love by Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) is included on the soundtrack for the new movie Valentine’s Day.
  • Entertainment Tonight has a short interview with with Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina, Gossip Girl).
  • Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl) and Dax Shepard are engaged.
  • Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea, Beverly Hills 90210) is among several actors who should make a comeback, according to a tongue-in-cheek list by BlackBook.

  • SoapNet will air Valentine’s Day-themed or love-themed episodes of Beverly Hills 90210 and One Tree Hill on–you guessed it–Valentine’s Day. They’re calling it a marathon but it appears to me to be the normal Sunday schedule for those shows with just specific episodes picked.
  • SoapNet has a short article on and some photos from tonight’s One Tree Hill.
  • Mike Grubbs (Grubbs, One Tree Hill) and Wakey!Wakey! were on the PIX 11 Morning News this morning.
  • How To Make It In America, starring Bryan Greenberg (Jake, One Tree Hill), premieres on HBO February 14. Thanks to Kitty for the info.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More

3 11 2009
  • Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
  • Last night’s One Tree Hill (2.3 million viewers) and Gossip Girl (2.0 million viewers rounded up) each had a decent drop in the ratings compared to last week.  Gossip Girl technically didn’t even cross 2 million (again, I rounded up), tying for a season-low.
  • I will be interviewing Lee Norris (Mouth, One Tree Hill) later this week.  Since I’ve already interviewed him, I figured this time I would use reader questions.  Please comment with your question by Thursday Friday morning.  I cannot promise it will be asked but I’ll do my best!
  • The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast features an interview with OTH writer Terrence Coli.
  • I love this video interview with Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill), where she adamantly states she isn’t on Twitter.  As you’ve seen in my Twitter Directory, there are tons of fake Sophias out there.  Frustrating!
  • Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) recorded a message on SoGoPro.
  • If you haven’t seen Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) on One Life to Live, Perez Hilton actually posted a clip.
  • In a Gossip Girl recap by the L.A. Times, both Andrea (Gabrielle Carteris, Beverly Hills 90210) and Joey (Katie Holmes, Dawson’s Creek) are compared to Vanessa (Jessica Szhor, Gossip Girl).
  • If you missed the short clip of the video for “Somebody to Love” by Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl), which aired during GG last night, E! Online posted it.
  • The Parents Television Council has sent a letter urging CW affiliates not to air next week’s episode, which will feature the reported threesome.  Seems a little preemptive (no pun intended) to me.  I can’t imagine the episode being vulgar enough to warrant this.  I imagine, like the gay kiss, it will be such a nothing thing and is really more about getting publicity and media attention (in which case, it worked).  But I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
  • You can get 10% off the cost of tickets for the Gossip Girl tour in New York City when you use the promo code TEENDRAMA.
  • TV Guide Magazine has a spoiler-filled interview with Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) about what happens with the Jackie (Ann Gillespie) storyline.  We all know how I feel about this so I figured I’d spare you guys the rant.
  • Ausiello has a lot more spoiler-filled details on the Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes, 90210) / Gia (Rumer Willis, 90210) storyline.
  • Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) and Nikki Reed (Sadie, The O.C.) are also featured in the Nov. issue of Nylon.
  • The O.C. made BlackBook’s list of Top 10 Single-Letter & Acronymical TV Shows.
  • Adam Brody (Seth, The O.C.) will star alongside Holmes in The Romantics.  Holmes will also produce.
  • The A.V. Club has a great interview with Chris Pratt (Che, The O.C.)

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210 and More

  • Dan (Penn Badgley, Gossip Girl) made EW.com’s list of TV Characters Who Just Turn You Off.  Dawson (James Van Der Beek, Dawson’s Creek) is also on the list.
  • The CW Source has a video interview with James Lafferty (Nathan, One Tree Hill).

  • Kate Voegele (Mia, One Tree Hill) is hosting a contest.

  • Laura Leighton (Sophie, Beverly Hills 90210) is done with Melrose Place–for now.
  • If you live San Francisco, you’ll soon be able to watch The O.C. at bus stops!

  • There’s a new One Tree Hill Connection podcast, which features an interview with India de Beaufort (Miranda).

  • Penn Badgley (Dan, Gossip Girl) confirmed to MTV that Lady Gaga will appear on an upcoming episode.
  • MTV also has details on Badgley attending the premiere for The Stepfather, his new film. He’s also the subject of this week’s edition of their column Star Gazing.
  • PEOPLE.com has a short piece on Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) and her love for designer shoes.
  • EW.com spoke with Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) about her new song, Somebody to Love. Meester says she can’t find love–which is an interesting thing to say if you’re dating Sebastian Stan (Carter, Gossip Girl). Unless they aren’t anymore?  She made a similar comment on the radio this morning with Ryan Seacrest.
  • Make sure you enter my Soundtrack 90210 contest!
  • The Los Angeles Times has a story on the release of the soundtrack.
  • TVGuide.com has a story on AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) and her involvement with Blind Project, an organization that tries to help victims of human trafficking.  I actually remember talking to AnnaLynne about this last year.  She’s very passionate about a number of issues.
  • Complex.com has the first piece I’ve seen on Mekia Cox (Sasha, 90210).  I never made the connection before that she was on One Tree Hill!  Now I totally remember the episode: the season 3 ep Brave New World as Faith, Lucas’ old friend.

  • E!Online is speculating about Bush’s possible real-life relationship with Austin Nichols (Julian, OTH).

  • Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) tweeted that her new single, Somebody to Love, premieres tomorrow and she’ll be on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show in the morning.

  • According to a press release, during the week of Sept. 21-27, 90210 had “the largest percentage ratings gains of any show on television across a number of  key demographics and total viewers” when you take DVR viewing into account.  This also boosted the ratings for One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl.
