News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More
21 04 2010- The CW sent out a press release of upcoming sweeps highlights, which Zap2it handily categorized by show. They left some things out, but all of it should be considered spoilers so consider this fair warning. If you guys want, I’ll post it all, as given in the release, in a Spoiler post. Let me know.
- There is “We Are One” campaign to further encourage The CW to renew One Tree Hill.
- Examiner.com has an article on the showcase Jana Kramer (Alex, One Tree Hill) had last week.
- I’ve heard speculation for a while now that Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) has been dating actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan. With no legitimate outlet reporting it, I didn’t post anything on it. But now we’ve got confirmation: the duo appeared on the red carpet last night for his movie The Losers.
- Kenzie Dalton, girlfriend of Chad Michael Murray (Lucas, One Tree Hill), wrote on her blog that CMM has a graphic novel titled Everlast coming out this summer.
- How To Make It In America, starring Bryan Greenberg (Jake, One Tree Hill), has been renewed for a second season on HBO.
- Bob Levy (executive producer, Gossip Girl) has been named executive vice president of film at Alloy.
- ABC is reportedly developing a daytime talk show for Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) and a “co-host to be determined.”
- Eric Mabius (Dean Hess, The O.C.) has been cast in Outcasts, a BBC series.
- Jeffrey Stepakoff (writer-producer, Dawson’s Creek) is returning to Wilmington April 30 for a book signing to support Fireworks Over Toccoa. Have you read my interview with him?

James Lafferty Interview Coming Sunday!
21 04 2010I wanted to let you all know I just got off the phone with James Lafferty (Nathan, One Tree Hill). Our interview will be posted Sunday.
In addition to discussing the upcoming episodes, James shared why he thinks Naley fans have been so loyal, what he hopes the show’s legacy will be–and much, much more (including what he thinks of TeenDramaWhore.com!)
I know other outlets are also interviewing him this week, which makes me especially grateful that James found time in his busy schedule to have a conversation with me. I am also grateful to The CW for giving me the opportunity.
Regular readers know I usually don’t “reveal” my upcoming interviews in advance but I was excited to share this with you guys and I hope you’re excited, too.
I thought I’d share some select quotes to hold you over til Sunday:
On one of his favorite One Tree Hill moments: “I literally felt like I had won the lottery.”
On One Tree Hill’s renewal chances: “There’s hundreds of questions and no answers. I’m trying to sit back and just wait.”
On how he’d like to leave the fans: “I’m a sucker for happy endings. I would love for our story to be one that ends positively.”
Come back Sunday morning to read the full interview!

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, 90210 and One Tree Hill
20 04 2010- Ausiello has an exclusive clip from next week’s Gossip Girl.
- Ausiello also has a spoiler game that seems to suggest (by the picture) that Gossip Girl is involved but it’s not clear if 90210 and One Tree Hill are, too.
- TodayOnline.com has a pretty interesting interview with Stephanie Savage (executive producer, Gossip Girl).
- The CW Source has a spoilish video interview with Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210).
- Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) had a “live Twitterview” today, taking questions via Twitter “about healthy eating, veggies, parenting, + more.” You can check out her Twitter feed to see her answers. (Not entirely helpful without the questions but you get the gist.) There’s one vague reference to BH90210.
- KENS5, a news station in San Antonio, has a video interview with Kate Voegele (Mia, One Tree Hill). I kind of loved it.

20 04 2010RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!
Mike in Alexandria, Va.: I’m dying for news on One Tree Hill! Please tell us, will it survive? Or will the CW pick up Life Unexpected instead?
Still no decisions yet, but they both could come back—possibly with shortened seasons, so keep the faith! We’ll find out May 20. As for OTH, I’ll be (hopefully) talking to James Lafferty and/or Rob Buckley this week, so please email me any Q’s you have or send them via twitter @kristinalert.
Erica in Turkey: We need some Chuck and Blair scoop that is good please on Gossip Girl!
I’m so sad to have to say this, but I don’t have anything new to report on the Chair front. I’m trying to keep the faith with you, and I know they will reunite at some point, but it might not be superquick, sorry.
Elise from Austin, Texas: I just can’t get on board with Gia and Adrianna on 90210. I miss her and Navid being together. Any hope?
Well, I’d say yes, after sitting down with Michael Steger to talk about the rest of the season. He says Navid and Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) “develop a strong friendship again.” That’s good news, yes? I can also tell you that their bond gets stronger because of some changes in her music career. And what of Navid’s new girl Lila (Amber Wallace)? “We take it to another level, but it’s a temporary thing,” Michael dishes. So hope is lost for all you Adrianna/Navid fans!
Rebecca in Oregon: Any hope for Naomi and Liam?
I’m told she’ll be single for a while. Sorry.

Notes:
Life Unexpected stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek).
I think there’s a typo in this sentence: “So hope is lost for all you Adrianna/Navid fans!” Based on the sentences before it, it probably should read “So no hope is lost for all you Adrianna/Navid fans!” Or, alternatively, “All hope is not lost for all you Adrianna/Navid fans!”

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, The O.C., 90210 and One Tree Hill
19 04 2010- The Brown Daily Herald has an interesting article on the school’s portrayal in entertainment media, including how it was depicted on Gossip Girl and The O.C.
- Zap2it has photos of Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl) in her New Look campaign.
- You can bid on a tour of the Gossip Girl set with Zuzanna Szadkowski (Dorota, Gossip Girl) in support of Shakespeare on the Common.
- TVGuideMagazine.com has an interesting “exclusive” about Rob Estes (Harry, 90210) leaving the show. Here’s what’s new: quotes from Lori Loughlin (Debbie) and Shenae Grimes (Annie), and the suggestion that the finale is the last episode with Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210). Loughlin and Grimes don’t seem too happy (though not entirely unhappy, either) and I was under the impression that Garth’s last episode had already aired. Here’s what’s not new: Debbie and Harry are having marriage problems and that will somehow play into Harry’s exit. I leave you to draw your own conclusions.
- showbizzle, the digital company run by Charles Rosin (executive producer, Beverly Hills 90210), has relaunched its website. There’s a pretty nifty video explaining what showbizzle is (if you haven’t read my interview with Rosin about it–or even if you have!) and you can see a little of Ian Ziering (Steve, Beverly Hills 90210).
- General Hospital’s headwriter told Soap Opera Digest he is in talks with Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210), something we also heard a few months ago.
- The New York Post has an article on stars getting acting experience through soap operas and it features a few quotes from Marcil.
- The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast features an interview with Tym Bucheran (make-up artist, One Tree Hill).

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210 and Gossip Girl
18 04 2010- In June, shortly after TV season wraps, I’ll be resuming my weekly trivia game on Twitter. I’ll post more details as we get closer to it.
- Due to Facebook limitations on how many friends a user can have, Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill) has started a fan page.
- Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) won the “celebrity race” at the Long Beach Grand Prix yesterday.
- Matthew Settle (Rufus, Gossip Girl) spoke to PEOPLE about how he’s coping with his separation from his wife and their impending divorce.
- Settle’s stint in the Broadway show Chicago begins tomorrow night.
- Hilary Duff (Olivia, Gossip Girl) recently participated in a conference call with journalists. She vaguely talks about GG without specifically mentioning it.
