Over the next few days, I’ll be showcasing the real-life relationships, past and present, of our favorite teen drama actors.
We’ll start with the relatively small couples and increase each day in seriousness and impact.
10. Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) and Sebastian Stan (Carter, Gossip Girl)
The couple began dating not long after Gossip Girl began and are still together.
9. Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) and Vincent Young (Noah, Beverly Hills 90210)
I actually had no idea these two had a relationship until I read it in Spelling’s book, sTORI Telling. In it she writes that they dated for three years and said “Vince was a classic bad boy.” Their relationship was far from perfect and when Young proposed to her (after the series ended), Spelling said no because she “had to find a diferent type of guy.” Their 90210 characters dated on-and-off during seasons 8 through 10.
Occasionally I reference or link to SoapNet, so I wanted to explain their Web site more.
SoapNet.com has a wider reach than the channel. While the site covers the soaps (daytime and teen dramas) that air on the channel, it also includes entertainment and fashion news. It also has links for a number shows on sister networks such as Lost (ABC) and The Secret Life of the American Teenager (ABCFamily).
The pages for each show include relevant new stories, picture galleries and message boards.
The site has a ton of other nooks and crannies filled with good stuff so take some time out and go explore!
With all the talk this past week about Donna and David and how it would be TRAGIC to split them up, I realized newer fans might not know why some of us feel this way.
If you haven’t had a chance to get caught up by the DVDs or SoapNet, check out the fan-made video below to see what all the fuss is about!
Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) discusses the pressure to be thin in Hollywood in a PEOPLE article.
“AnnaLynne’s antics” are in, according to The Shaw Report in the April 17th issue of Entertainment Weekly. (AnnaLynne, of course, being AnnaLynne McCord, 90210’s Naomi.)
You can see Adam Gregory (Ty, 90210) in this behind-the-scenes video of Ashley Tisdale’s music video show.
Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) told TVGuide.com she stands behind the Donna-David separation storyline on the new 90210. Ironically, the site ranked David and Donna’s wedding as one of their TV favorites. (Naley’s season 4 wedding on One Tree Hill also made the list!)
Spelling and husband Dean McDermott just signed on to do multiple projects with Oxygen, including another season Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.
Spelling was on The View yesterday, where she discussed her relationship with her mother, Candy.
EW.com brought up an interesting point: the characters of all 3 returning 90210 alums have been unlucky in love. Here’s a word of advice: bring back Luke Perry (Dylan McKay) and Brian Austin Green (David Silver)!
Green and Megan Fox are still together, but don’t expect them to get married any time soon, she says.
Gossip Girl made a list of the 50 best American television shows, as decided by a UK paper.
There are more Gossip Girl sneak peeks over at E!Online.
Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl) will tour with The Veronicas this summer, according to a fan site and re-reported by Rolling Stone. Looking for better confirmation.
Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina, Gossip Girl) stars in 17 Again, which opens in theaters this Friday.
Joe Manganiello (Owen, One Tree Hill) will spend most of June starring in a play in California.
There are fun photos of Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) sending out shirts to fans on the Southern Gothic Productions blog.
Cam Gigandet (Volchok, The O.C.) reportedly became a father this week.
Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) is fighting back rumors that she’s anorexic.
There’s a small photo of Tori in the April 20th issue of PEOPLE, highlighting her return to 90210.
There are twovideo interviews with Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) posted at The CW Source. They also have a Tori-related video that they got from somewhere else, I think.
TV Guide Magazine has an interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210).
The Los Angeles Times also thought that the Dr. Pepper placement was a bit too much in last night’s 90210.
Brian Austin Green’s (David, Beverly Hills 90210) Terminator show is pretty much canceled, according to Ausiello. So maybe we’ll see him on 90210 next season?
Dana Bowen? Was that what Dixon’s mom’s name is? Hard to hear.
Are they really going to Kansas and Annie doesn’t know it?
Dustin Milligan doing the road trip promo. Ironic since he was just kind of fired.
Wow, Naomi just gets more and more annoying.
And Liam is very nasty. I don’t like this.
Funny that they went to a sushi restaurant. And that’s a cool conveyor belt.
Wait a second–why aren’t they eating at The Peach Pit?! They definitely would’ve/should’ve gone there. The show probably just didn’t want to pay Joe. E. Tata!
Michael Steger doing road trip promo. LOL Says he would go on a road trip with all the guys and Jessica Lowndes. What about the other girls?!
Dixon’s still sitting in the car but where did Annie go?
There’s Annie! She’s going to talk to his mom! Bold, brave move. Kelly did the same in the original, but behind Dylan’s back. Are they just biting off the original again?!
Heard Dana Bowen again. That must be it.
So Dixon was 8…
…and SHE chose to give HIM up. Suppose that makes more sense.
Wait, how did Dixon find out her info, where she works and stuff?
Aw, Dixon has a doll/sister named Mango! Very cute story.
Expected Dixon to get out of the car and join them. Guess not.
Liam is probably just tricking Ethan about the drugs.
And Ethan’s falling for it and freaking out a little.
That’s a lot of self-reflection Ethan is doing. Would agree with his assessment.
If Donna’s such a hotshot designer, she definitely would’ve been on a red carpet before.
Glad Silver and Kelly are having a heart to heart.
Cute that Donna told them the same story. Glad we didn’t have to hear it twice, though!
Ha, Liam fell!
I knew he didn’t really give Ethan the drug!
LOL Love that Ethan punched him!
Shenae Grimes promoting the 90210 prom contest.
LOL Donna brought Diablo home.
Not surprised Silver’s a big Diablo fan. Think it fits with her character.
LOL the Hamburger phone takes photos!
That’s an intense scar Liam has!
Who was “his girl”? Wonder if we’ll find out more about her.
But LA was ready for Donna! She wasn’t A-list but she was pretty successful in the original. Why are they changing that? Hate when they rewrite history!
Ugh, here’s the David bombshell.
WTF! I thought it was going to be a rough patch or confused feelings. Not a freakin’ SEPARATION! I will not stand for that.
Stupid Dr. Pepper shot. Making me thirsty! Guess it’s working…
Annie and Dixon’s driving scenes are so fake, it’s kind of funny.
Liam’s a little violent. I don’t like that.
What, he and Ethan are friends now??
That’s a bad ending. Should’ve left it with Donna and the stupid separation.
No Navid or Adrianna this episode.
Promo is a mismash of all the characters. One Tori scene.
Tori Spelling Return verdict: The writing for Donna was very good and in-line with the character I remember. Tori played her well, too. The only snares, really, are the incongruities with her former fashion career in Beverly Hills and that Ruby disappeared after her first scene. Really, where was she every time Donna was out cavorting around? Consistency, people! And then there’s the biggest problem, of course: the suggestion that she and David are divorced. I’ve been saying this ever since the remake was announced: you can’t break up Donna and David. You can’t take one of the most respected parts of the original series and trash it. It’s just not fair. The original series ended with them married, and as far as I’m concerned, that’s how it should be–and still is. (Yes, in terms of the original 90210, this history-bashing version doesn’t even exist. So Kelly and Dylan are still together, too, by the way.)
Lastly, E!Online posted some extra 90210 content “in honor of Donna’s triumphant return: there’s spoilish video interviews with the cast, as well as a trivia game between Diablo and one of the E! critics, hosted by Tori. Proud to say I got every question right…and they didn’t! Amateurs!
Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) will be on the May cover of Allure. You can see outtakes from the photoshoot here as well as her “style timeline” here.
Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) is part of the ensemble cast of Date Night.
The original singers of Meester’s “Birthday” said she does a good job with the song.
There’s a bunch of photos of some of the 90210 cast at the Paley Festival.
Here’s anotherrecap of what was revealed at the 90210 panel at the festival. Warning: lots of spoilers!
Shenae Grimes (Annie, 9021o) still wants Luke Perry (Dylan, Beverly Hills 90210) to appear on the show.
Grimes and Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) discuss how they’re handling fame in this article.
Stroup discusses what’s next for character in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) will guest star in the season finale of CSI: Miami.
You can check out Kate Voegle’s (Mia, One Tree Hill) newest single here.
Finally have an answer to who does all of Peyton’s drawings on One Tree Hill: an artist named Helen Ward! Listen to an interview with her here and check out her Web site (and some of the Peyton art) here.
