Are Gossip Girl‘s Rufus and Lily going to be able to last? — Jamie
MICKEY: Executive producer Josh Schwartz, ever the romantic, lays out the odds. “I hope so, but it’s Gossip Girl so no one is happy for long,” he says. Maurice in Pittsburgh: What the what? I just read Josh Schwartz’s quote that Jenny and Chuck have something coming up on Gossip Girl. Please tell me Little J is not coming between Blair and Chuck. I’ll die!
Your life is spared. An inside source tells me that Jenny and Chuck don’t really have any big storylines together this season, so I’m assuming Josh meant Jenny will have a big storyline and Chuck will have a big storyline, but they are not the same storyline. Chuck’s story involves the possible surprise return of his believed-to-be-dead mother (and Jack Bass), and Jenny’s involves another couple she comes between…guesses?
Wanda Two Saints: Kristin, are you really not going to tell us who Jenny will be interfering with? That’s low, even for you!
Only because I like old friends with bad glasses, I will reveal that Jenny is going to “get in between Nate and Serena,” according to my rock-solid Gossip Girl source. We likey? We hatey? I’m thinking more of the latter…

Not yet. But he’s coming before the season ends.
Holly: How about some news on 90210? I’ll take anything on Dixon…love him.

11 12 2009- A few teen drama females are in the running for E! Online’s Girl on Top tournament.
- According to Ausiello, Gossip Girl is casting a a new character–presumably a new love interest for Eric (Connor Paolo).
- The new issue of Soap Opera Weekly has an interview with Amanda Setton (Penelope, Gossip Girl). Have you read my interview with her?
- Haley (One Tree Hill), Jim & Cindy Walsh (Beverly Hills 90210) and Sandy ( The O.C.) are part of SoapNet’s 20 Things We’re Grateful For.
- TVGuide.com named Annie and Jasper’s apparent break-up on this week’s 90210 as one of its Coolest Moments.
- Scott Patterson has joined the cast of 90210 as Jack, father to Liam (Matt Lanter, 90210). Oddly enough, Dylan’s father on BH90210 was also named Jack. According to the Los Angeles Times, Patterson was originally considered last year (at least by the media) for the role of Harry (Rob Estes).
- The new issue of Soap Opera Digest has a feature comparing the old 90210 with the new but I haven’t actually seen it yet.
- I found the video of the interview where Hilary Swank (Carly, Beverly Hills 90210) talks about her departure from the show.
- EW.com complimented Ian Ziering (Steve, Beverly Hills 90210) for his performance in Christmas Hope, which airs on the Lifetime Movie Network on Sunday.
- Another EW.com holiday movie pick stars Elisa Donovan (Ginger, Beverly Hills 90210) and Dean Cain (Rick, Beverly Hills 90210). Cain is also on the list a second time.
- And yet another is a James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) one which airs tonight on LMN.
- The O.C.’s first season was an “honorable mention” in the Star-Ledger’s Best of the 00’s in TV.

10 12 2009- Starting tomorrow at 3pm, SoapNet will begin airing season 6 of One Tree Hill. This is the first time the season is being repeated in syndication.
- Two couples each from One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl are included in BuddyTV’s 29 Best Ships of 2009 list.
- Canyon News calls 90210 a “guilty pleasure that delivers.” This piece actually made me wonder if I’ve been too hard on the show this year.
- Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210) is made TVGuide.com’s Best Performances of the Year list, though the description they gave isn’t quite accurate.
- Arrested Development, starring Jessica Walters (Tabitha, 90210) and Freaks and Geeks, starring Busy Philipps (Audrey, Dawson’s Creek) are among TVGuide.com’s picks for Best Shows of the Decade.
- Shortly after news of his divorce broke, James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) is moving on in public with model Kimberly Brook.
- The first Chrismukkah episode of The O.C. is on BuddyTV’s list of 10 Great Holiday TV Episodes.

Weekly Poll
10 12 2009The last Weekly Poll was a while ago now, thanks to the week off that the shows had and then the week off that I had. In that set, a big chunk of you believed Lady Gaga’s appearance on Gossip Girl was a pointless ratings stunt and that Liam and Naomi belonged together. It was a lot closer on the question of where Quinn’s loyalties should lie. In the end, the belief that she should stay out of the Naley-Clay issue came out on top by just 10 votes.
