- Teen Choice 2010 has announced additional nominations, with lots more teen drama-related picks. Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) is nominated for Choice Movie Scene Stealer Male for New Moon. Paul Wesley (Donnie, The O.C.) is nominated for Choice TV Breakout Star Male for The Vampire Diaries. Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley, One Tree Hill), Shenae Grimes (Annie, 90210) and Hilary Duff (Olivia, Gossip Girl) are all nominated for Choice TV Scene Stealer Female while James Lafferty (Nathan, One Tree Hill) is nominated for Choice TV Scene Stealer Male. Together, Galeotti and Lafferty are nominated for Choice TV Parental Unit and Lori Loughlin (Debbie, 90210) and Rob Estes (Harry, 90210) are also nominated.
- The Miami Herald has a short interview with AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210).
- Seems that Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) married her old boyfriend, Carmine Giovinazzo, recently, as she was introduced at the Daytime Emmys last night with his last name.
- Highlight of the Emmys for me: a clip of Luke Perry (Dylan, Beverly Hills 90210) from his Loving days being included in the tribute to soap opera maven Agnes Nixon. Bummer, though, that Jonathan Jackson, who appeared on One Tree Hill with his band Enation, and Carolyn Hennesy (Mrs. Valentine, Dawson’s Creek) did not win in their respective categories.
- Galeotti has released a song called Shiver in hopes of raising funds to improve the water conditions in Kenya.
- As a birthday present for Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill), some fans are organizing a group donation to Global Green.
- Zap2it posted pictures of Brittany Daniel (Eve, Dawson’s Creek) at last night’s BET Awards. One word: wow.
- Wesley is nominated for Top Breakout Star Male in Kristin’s Tater Top Awards for The Vampire Diaries.

News Roundup: Gossip Girl, The O.C., 90210 and One Tree Hill
19 04 2010- The Brown Daily Herald has an interesting article on the school’s portrayal in entertainment media, including how it was depicted on Gossip Girl and The O.C.
- Zap2it has photos of Taylor Momsen (Jenny, Gossip Girl) in her New Look campaign.
- You can bid on a tour of the Gossip Girl set with Zuzanna Szadkowski (Dorota, Gossip Girl) in support of Shakespeare on the Common.
- TVGuideMagazine.com has an interesting “exclusive” about Rob Estes (Harry, 90210) leaving the show. Here’s what’s new: quotes from Lori Loughlin (Debbie) and Shenae Grimes (Annie), and the suggestion that the finale is the last episode with Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210). Loughlin and Grimes don’t seem too happy (though not entirely unhappy, either) and I was under the impression that Garth’s last episode had already aired. Here’s what’s not new: Debbie and Harry are having marriage problems and that will somehow play into Harry’s exit. I leave you to draw your own conclusions.
- showbizzle, the digital company run by Charles Rosin (executive producer, Beverly Hills 90210), has relaunched its website. There’s a pretty nifty video explaining what showbizzle is (if you haven’t read my interview with Rosin about it–or even if you have!) and you can see a little of Ian Ziering (Steve, Beverly Hills 90210).
- General Hospital’s headwriter told Soap Opera Digest he is in talks with Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210), something we also heard a few months ago.
- The New York Post has an article on stars getting acting experience through soap operas and it features a few quotes from Marcil.
- The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast features an interview with Tym Bucheran (make-up artist, One Tree Hill).

12 04 2010- One Tree Hill came in second in Kristin’s Save One Show campaign. Chuck, which is executive produced by Josh Schwartz (executive producer, Gossip Girl; The O.C.) won.
- Even if you didn’t participate in the postcard campaign for One Tree Hill, you can still print out one of the postcards as a keepsake.
- The first video featuring the winners of The CW’s One Tree Hill contest has been released. It’s pretty cute. I am ridiculously jealous.
- The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast has an interview with Joe Davola (executive producer, One Tree Hill).
- Cari Moskow (Patty, One Tree Hill) joined Twitter today after being re-inspired by our interview.
- Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) will no longer be starring in Footloose.
- The 33 TV, a news station in Dallas, has a video interview with Crawford and his sister Candice.
- CNN is taking fan questions for Crawford for their Connector Of The Day feature. Can you spot the error in what they wrote?
- PEOPLE.com and the New York Post have interviews with Zuzanna Szadkowski (Dorota, Gossip Girl).
- MTV has a short interview with Eric Daman (costume designer, Gossip Girl).
- I don’t post these every week but I figured I’d share this time: 90210 had the most DVR growth, percentage wise, in the 18-49 demographic than any other network show during the week of March 22. Gossip Girl ranked fourth. (It’s noteworthy, for One Tree Hill renewal/cancellation purposes, that Melrose Place ranked second.) The CW sent out a press release with all the numbers.
- Laura Leighton (Sophie, Beverly Hills 90210) will return to Melrose Place tomorrow night for the season finale.
- Time Out New York Kids has an interview with Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210), which includes a (totally legitimate but late, IMO) dig at 90210.
- The Bannen Way, which features Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) and Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.), won several awards at The Streamys.
- An article on Life Unexpected, which stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek), has nice references to both DC and Beverly Hills 90210.
- BlackBook has an interview with Smith, with a little bit of DC talk and a Gossip Girl mention.
- Busy Philipps (Audrey, Dawson’s Creek) spoke a little about James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) to E! Online.

31 12 2009- Noticed that the finalized artwork for the Beverly Hills Season 9 DVD is significantly different from the preliminary art, and both are significantly different from the original photo. First the original photo was altered to photoshop in Luke Perry (Dylan). Then they decided to also add in Vanessa Marcil (Gina) and cut out Vincent Young (Noah). This makes the second season in a row with Young missing from the cover art, even though he was a regular the entire season, unlike Perry, Marcil and even Jason Priestley (Brandon) and Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie). Missing in all three photos, however, is Daniel Cosgrove (Matt) who was also a regular that season, albeit not from the beginning (though he is in one of the faded background images). Expect me to still be griping about this when the set is released on February 2nd.
- ABC News has an interview with Candy Spelling (wife of Aaron, mother of Tori; Beverly Hills 90210).
- Digital Spy has an interview with Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210). Some of it is outdated for us, since the show is just premiering in the country where the site is based. Most interesting is that he says he’s pretty sure there’s going to be a season 3–and then is bold enough to say the show could last “four or five years.”
- They also have an interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210), which also covers things we’ve already seen but also has spoilers.
- MTV made New Year’s resolutions for Ryan (Ryan Eggold, 90210), Dan (Paul Johansson, One Tree Hill) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen, Gossip Girl). Zap2it and The Wrap have good resolutions for The CW.
- Star News has a brief article on Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) and the amazing work he’s been doing on One Life to Live. It’s truly remarkable.
- Blair (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) is still in the running in the Girl on Top tournament.
- You can vote for Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) and Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) as the stars you would kiss on New Year’s Eve.
- The new season of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, starring Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.), premieres Monday on ABC Family.

26 12 2009- Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210) and Michael Steger (Navid, 90210) are included in a L.A. Times photogallery of celebrity Christmas wishes.
- According to the new issue of Soap Opera Weekly, Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) is once again “in talks” with General Hospital. I haven’t read the article. (You’ll notice Zack Conroy is also on the cover. He appeared on one episode of Gossip Girl as Ben, the guy Blair meets at the airplane when Chuck stands her up in the season 1 finale).
- Star News has an article on One Tree Hill’s success this year, noting how the 7th season means it surpassed Dawson’s Creek as Wilmington’s longest running show. It also made OTH the second longest running teen drama.
- Jana Kramer (Alex, One Tree Hill) tweeted that she’s engaged. Her fiance, Johnathon Schaech tweeted it as well. Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) posted well wishes to them on Facebook.
- The Best Chrismukkah Ever from The O.C. ranked 16 on EW.com’s list of Classic Holiday TV Episodes.
