- Michael Steger (Navid, The O.C.) appeared on the WPIX Morning News earlier this week. The video has a few spoilers. The accompanying article says his character is “often compared to David Silver from the original series.” Um, thoughts?
- WPIX also had Tate Donovan (Jimmy, The O.C.) on their show this week.
- Adam Brody (Seth, The O.C.) is in the new movie Cop Out, which will be in theaters tomorrow.
- Tomorrow at 2pm, SoapNet will start airing The O.C. from the beginning again. It will also start over Saturday at 8am and Monday at 1pm.

Get ready for some major stalking from 90210‘s creepy drug dealer, Jasper. He’ll continue blackmailing Annie over the hit-and-run death of his uncle, but when she finally stands up to him, his lurkiness increases tenfold. And the will-they-won’t-they love story between Silver and Teddy quickly becomes a will, then a won’t-again, then back to a will…for now at least.

Even though Liam and Naomi are back together, things will not be easy. In fact, they are downright uncomfortable—no conversation, awkward pauses. The only thing good between the two is the sex…and we’ll see lots of it.

New episodes of Southland finally premiere next Tuesday, and the documentary-style drama is better than ever. In addition serving up the usual crime and grime of LAPD life, the new Southland eps are a treat for O.C. fans. Look for a second Ryan-Oliver reunion when Ben Sherman’s (Ben McKenzie) sister tries to set him up with a cute girl (Grey’s Anatomy‘s Nora Zehetner), and she arrives in the company of some bonehead 90210 types including Wade (Taylor Handley). And Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break) is fabulous as Regina King‘s temporary new partner. Start praying now that the ratings for Southland’s new season are awesome and that TNT sees fit to order another stack of episodes. This show is too good to lose.

19 02 2010Five of the six teen dramas began with main characters who were siblings or would become siblings.
On Beverly Hills 90210 we have twins Brenda and Brandon, while on 90210 there’s Annie and her adopted brother Dixon. The original also had Kelly and David as step-siblings while the new show made Annie and Dixon share a half-sibling with Naomi.
On The O.C., Seth found a brother in Ryan when the Cohens became his guardian.
One Tree Hill has half-brothers Lucas and Nathan.
And Gossip Girl has Dan and Jenny as well as Serena and Eric, along with quite a few pairs of step-siblings, some involving Chuck (with Serena and Eric) and Blair (with non-main character Aaron). And, of course, Dan and Jenny became step-siblings with Serena and Eric.
The lone exception is Dawson’s Creek. No original main characters as siblings in Capeside.
But DC is one of four teen dramas that introduced a baby sibling when the first child, the main character, was in high school or older.
On BH90210, Kelly was between her junior and senior years of high school while David was between his sophomore and junior years when they got a baby half-sister, Erin, now known on 90210 as Silver.
Dawson was a senior in high school when his parents had Lily.
Seth and Ryan were out of high school when the Cohens had Sophie.
Lucas was graduating high school when his mom had a baby girl, also named Lily.
Remains to be seen whether Gossip Girl and 90210 will continue the trend!

Like One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl hasn’t given us any Valentine’s Day episodes. In both seasons 1 and 2, the show was on hiatus during the holiday and that’s true for this season as well. There’s always next year, right?

1. Episode 1.16, Of Heartbreaks And Hotels
Truth be told, I forgot there was a Valentine’s Day episode until some commenters on this very site reminded me a few months ago. (Thanks, guys!) While it’s heartbreaks for Annie when Ethan chooses to spend time with Rhonda (yawn), it’s hotels for Silver and Dixon, who consummate their relationship not just with sex but also a tattoo. Adrianna and Navid do the “I swear I don’t have feelings for you but actually I really do” dance as Navid struggles to accept that recovering addict Ade is pregnant with some dude’s baby. But he comes around, pulling out the “you’re a mess but will you be my Valentine?” card. And, of course, this is the first time we meet Liam, with the first of many sexually-charged conversations between him and Naomi.
Teen dramas and Valentine’s Day. I thought this series would be a no-brainer! But as you’ve seen over the last few days, two shows didn’t even have V-Day episodes, others had slim pickings and just one–Beverly Hills 90210–rocked it out (seriously, I didn’t even include all of their eps!).

Question: I can’t go another Ask Ausiello without some major 90210 scoop! It’s bad enough new episodes don’t start back up ’till March 9th! —Kenny
Ausiello: Annie’s hit-and-run story will come to a surprising conclusion in the season finale, but the repercussions will carry over into season 3. Also, I’m hearing Liam and Naomi hit a rough patch (shocker!), and he’ll turn to Annie for (cough) support. That was a real cough, BTW. I wasn’t trying to suggest that (cough) support stood for something else.
Question: Any Gossip Girl spoilers? —Helen

Weekly Poll
20 01 2010In the last Weekly Poll, 63 percent were were looking forward to Taylor’s return while 25 percent were indifferent and 12 percent gave a firm “no.” Makes me very eager to see the results of this week’s poll! Less than 10 votes separated the pro-Eric fans and the anti-Eric fans, but the pros won it. Still, 16 percent didn’t care either way. Similar numbers on the Annie-Liam question, with 10-vote margin between those totally interested and totally against the pairing. Here more people were against it and 13 percent didn’t care.

Weekly Poll
13 01 2010In the last Weekly Poll, a decent majority–60 percent–said they hope Rachel stays in Tree Hill. Only 22 percent said they disagreed and 18 percent didn’t care either way. The results were tight on the question of Lily and Keith and what may or may not have happened between them. Thirty-four percent of respondents said Lily wouldn’t cheat on Rufus but 30 percent admitted they weren’t sure and can’t wait to find out. Twenty-six percent are convinced cheating did occur while 10 percent also said they weren’t sure but they’re not looking forward to finding out. We had a tie in the third question, with 26 percent saying Dixon shouldn’t look for his birth mom but 26 percent also saying they don’t care. Another 35 percent said he should while 13 percent said they were torn.
