- I am not posting ratings for last night’s One Tree Hill until the final numbers are announced. I’ve been told they’re delayed due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
- The CW sent out a press release–based on the early numbers, which they normally use–saying Life Unexpected’s total viewers was the most for the 9pm timeslot in more than a year. That means it outperformed One Tree Hill last year (from 1/12/09 til the end of the season) and Gossip Girl all of this season.
- Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new One Tree Hill video content this week.
- Examiner.com has an article on Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) and Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill)–who are totally together, it seems–attending the The Art of Elysium’s annual gala.
- The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast features an interview with Lindsey McKeon (Taylor, One Tree Hill). Have you read my interview with her?
- Ausiello is reporting Billy Baldwin has been cast as father to Serena (Blake Lively, Gossip Girl) and Eric (Connor Paolo, Gossip Girl), ex-husband to Lily (Kelly Rutherford, Gossip Girl). Matt Barr (Ian “Psycho Derek” Banks, One Tree Hill) played the young version of Keith in the 80s flashback episode in season 2. Some are saying Keith isn’t S and E’s father and this E! Online article says its William van der Woodsen but I am just confused by it all.
- I typically don’t link to sites like this but I was just so stunned by this claim that I can’t ignore it. Radar Online is “exclusively” reporting that Rob Estes (Harry, 90210) has quit the show. Some of their facts are clearly wrong: they say “The next season is set to air in the close future – a date has yet to be released by CW as they gear up to debut their new line-up.” The next season–if there is a next season–wouldn’t typically air til the fall and wouldn’t even be announced for a while longer. I am hoping a mainstream, credible site will quickly confirm or deny their report.
- The same Radar article also has details on Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) and her exit from the show. These seem to be legit as the quotes are coming from her manager, rather than anonymous sources.
- Garth is starring in a new webseries, called Garden Party. Garth previously appeared in the webseries The Broadroom.
- Smokin’ Aces 2, starring Autumn Reeser (Taylor, The O.C.), is out on DVD today. Reeser and I discussed the film in our interview and she discusses it in this new one as well. Reeser also mentions her appearance years ago on Star Trek, which starred Jeri Ryan (Charlotte, The O.C.)
- TVGuide.com has more on Olivia Wilde (Alex, The O.C.) auctioning her Golden Globes dress for charity.
- Emmanuelle Chriqui, who played Alex’s ex in two episodes of The O.C. was named the Most Desirable Woman of 2010.

8 01 2010- Found this pretty cool take on recreating fashion styles as seen on Beverly Hills 90210 in the early 90s.
- The CW sent out a press release about its schedule for the rest of the TV year: as previously reported, we’ve got One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected beginning January 18, but now we know repeats of LUX and Gossip Girl will air Wednesday nights until March. Also, as previously reported, LUX takes OTH’s spot on March 8 so new episodes of GG can air. 90210 returns with its new episodes the next night, March 9. Then on April 19, LUX is finished and we’ve got new episodes of OTH and GG through the end of the season.
- PEOPLE.com has a poll asking whether Adam Lambert should guest-star on Gossip Girl or other shows.
- Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) will star in Green Lantern, whose screenplay was written by Greg Berlanti (writer- producer, Dawson’s Creek).
- Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) will be among the presenters at the Golden Globes on January 17.
- There are brief mentions of Gossip Girl and The O.C. in this fun interview with Josh Schwartz (creator of both).
- You can see Rachel Bilson (Summer, The O.C.) on How I Met Your Mother this Monday.
- Melinda Clarke (Julie, The O.C.) will appear on The Vampire Diaries, which only adds to the following…
- How did I not know Kayla Ewell (Casey, The O.C.) was on The Vampire Diaries, which was created by Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek) and also stars Paul Wesley (Donnie, The O.C.)? Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) spoke very fondly of their (now long ago) relationship when I interviewed him in ’08. On The O.C., Ewell starred alongside Cam Gigandet (Volchok, The O.C), who was also in the Twilight films with Lutz and, of course, Nikki Reed (Sadie, The O.C.) and Jackson Rathbone (Justin, The O.C.). Six degrees…
- There’s an interview with Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek) in the new issue of Soap Opera Digest.

6 01 2010- Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) was mysteriously absent from the People’s Choice Awards when Cobra Starship performed Good Girls Go Bad. In her place was Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls.
- Neither Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) nor GG won in the categories they were nominated for at the PCAs.
- Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) presented an award at the PCAs.
- The Vampire Diaries, which was created by Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek), won Favorite New TV Drama at the PCAs.
- Covert Affairs, starring Peter Gallagher (Sandy, The O.C.), has been picked up by USA.

31 12 2009- Noticed that the finalized artwork for the Beverly Hills Season 9 DVD is significantly different from the preliminary art, and both are significantly different from the original photo. First the original photo was altered to photoshop in Luke Perry (Dylan). Then they decided to also add in Vanessa Marcil (Gina) and cut out Vincent Young (Noah). This makes the second season in a row with Young missing from the cover art, even though he was a regular the entire season, unlike Perry, Marcil and even Jason Priestley (Brandon) and Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie). Missing in all three photos, however, is Daniel Cosgrove (Matt) who was also a regular that season, albeit not from the beginning (though he is in one of the faded background images). Expect me to still be griping about this when the set is released on February 2nd.
- ABC News has an interview with Candy Spelling (wife of Aaron, mother of Tori; Beverly Hills 90210).
- Digital Spy has an interview with Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210). Some of it is outdated for us, since the show is just premiering in the country where the site is based. Most interesting is that he says he’s pretty sure there’s going to be a season 3–and then is bold enough to say the show could last “four or five years.”
- They also have an interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210), which also covers things we’ve already seen but also has spoilers.
- MTV made New Year’s resolutions for Ryan (Ryan Eggold, 90210), Dan (Paul Johansson, One Tree Hill) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen, Gossip Girl). Zap2it and The Wrap have good resolutions for The CW.
- Star News has a brief article on Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) and the amazing work he’s been doing on One Life to Live. It’s truly remarkable.
- Blair (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) is still in the running in the Girl on Top tournament.
- You can vote for Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) and Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) as the stars you would kiss on New Year’s Eve.
- The new season of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, starring Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.), premieres Monday on ABC Family.

23 12 2009- Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210) did an interview about his new TV show, Meet Phil Fitz.
- Priestley is also working on a film called The Last Rites of Ransom Pride.
- I found a little info on Nashville, the new pilot Mark Schwahn (creator, One Tree Hill) is working on.
- Brooke (Sophia Bush, One Tree Hill), Blair (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) and Serena (Blake Lively, Gossip Girl) are still in the Girl on Top tournament.
- One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl are both mentioned in this TV Year in Review piece. OTH gets a second mention here.

- The True-Love Tale of Boyfriend and Girlfriend, starring Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) and Austin Nichols (Julian, One Tree Hill) with narration by Cullen Moss (Junk, One Tree Hill), has been released, according to a vlog from Burton.
- You can vote Gossip Girl as the Best Scripted Television Series of 2009 in an E! Online poll.

7 12 2009- Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) and husband Peter Facinelli are on the cover of PEOPLE’s special holiday extra edition. PEOPLE.com has a video from the photo shoot.
- Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) and mom Candy Spelling have reportedly reconciled.
- Luke Perry (Dylan, Beverly Hills 90210) is featured in a new video for The Killers. Interestingly enough (but I’m sure not purposefully), it somewhat echoes the season 5 episode where Dylan revisits his past lives.
- Perry, Jason Priestley (Brandon, Beverly Hills 90210), Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl), Chad Michael Murray (Lucas, One Tree Hill), Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek) and Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan, The O.C.) made AOL’s list of the Top 50 Teen Idols. Perry ranks the best at number 7, while CMM is at 13, Crawford came in at 17 with Priestley right after at 18 and Jackson sits at number 20 while McKenzie is at 31. Also on the list is John Schneider who recently played Liam’s step-dad on 90210.
- Ryan Eggold (Ryan, 90210) is included in PEOPLE.com’s Sexy at Every Age photo gallery.
- AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) was on The Tonight Show last week and Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) was on Rachael Ray.
- Greg Vaughan (Cliff, Beverly Hills 90210) tweeted that he’s filmed 3 episodes for his appearance on the new 90210.
- If you missed Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) on SNL last week, here are some of the promos and recaps: EW.com, EW.com again and Zap2it.
- Zap2it has a photo gallery called “The Quotable Blair Waldorf,” which feature quotes and photos from season 3.
- OTHPodcast.com has been revamped.
- There’s photos on Facebook of James Laffety (Nathan, One Tree Hill) and Robert Buckley (Clay, One Tree Hill) in character for The Legend of Hell’s Gate: An Ameican Conspiracy.
- If you live near New York City, Kate Voegele (Mia, One Tree Hill) will be at the lighting of the NYSE Christmas tree this Thursday.
