RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: So, inquiring minds want to know: Is Rachel Bilson the mother on HIMYM? —Jeremy
Ausiello:
Look for exclusive details about Bilson’s character in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly (on sale Friday). In the meantime, Craig Thomas — who once again promises that episode 100 will feature “some pretty exciting stuff on the mother front” — says he and fellow exec producer Carter Bays are “big fans” of the former O.C. star. “She’s charming and great and we’re [excited] for her to come into such a big episode.”

Question: Are you going to narrow down the list of Gossip Girl threesome possibilities? —Sharon
Ausiello:
Yes, but not here. It wouldn’t be appropriate. I’ll do so in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, on sale Friday.

Question: I know you won’t tell us who is going to partake in the threesome on Gossip Girl, so I won’t even bother asking. I just want to know if it’s a dream or if it’s real. —Fernanda
Ausiello:
Oh, it’s real.

Question: I would love some (good) news about Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl! —Lisa
Ausiello:
It doesn’t get much better than this: They’re still together and (relatively) happy through at least episode 11.

Question: Please tell me your Love and War blind item does not pertain to Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester? That would totally ruin Gossip Girl for me! —Whitney
Ausiello:
It’s not them either. Okay, this marks the end of the Love and War eliminations. You’re on your own now!

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Marriam in Mississauga, Ontario: I was just wondering if there’s hope after all for Body Politic now that The Beautiful Life has been canceled? Body Politic should have been picked up to begin with, it was the smartest prospect for the CW since Veronica Mars.
Sorry, the death of TBL doesn’t mean that Body Politic will be resurrected. Honestly, it’s dead and buried, and you gots to let it go. Sorry, dear. That said, if you love good TV, hold out for the CW’s Life UneXpected, which is coming up soon and is wonderful!

Rene in Washington, D.C.: What’s up with this new guy coming to Gossip Girl?
Damien (Kevin Zegers) is bad news. If you like raccoon-eyed Little J, you’re in luck, because sources tell us Damien’s going to bring Jenny “to a dark place.” Break out the mascara and eyeliner, Jenny.

Mel in Boise, Idaho: I really like Bree and Nate together on Gossip Girl. Please tell me that Joanna Garcia is sticking around for a while?!
Sorry, Bree’s not exactly a paragon of sweetness and light. Her intentions are not as pure as we’ve been led to believe. The redheaded Gossip girl mostly just wants revenge on Carter, and she wants it bad. Better luck next time, Nate.

Sydne in Canada: Loved the Gossip Girl clips for tonight. Can you tell us anything else about the episode?
Feeling a bit Bluck-deprived? We promise you’ll get your “Chair” fix tonight. Just as Jenny thought a new beginning was in store, the reigning queen bee has yet another showdown with predecessor Blair. B just can’t let go of the past, and when Little J begins the school year with a no-more-hierarchy rule, her little lackeys reach out to the reluctant NYU undergrad for an intervention. Of course, it takes the always incredible Chuck Bass to pull B back to reality.

Juliet in Arkansas City, Kans.: Have you got any spoilers on Brooke and Julian from One Tree Hill?
Yes, but it’s not necessarily what you One Tree Hill fans will want to hear: Alex comes between them, and Brooke receives some devastating news.

Kimmy in Seattle: I’ve read that Clay has some big secrets on One Tree Hill. Any idea what they are?
Not entirely, but it sounds like Nathan’s basketball career isn’t the only thing that brought the sports agent to Tree Hill. Superstud Robert Buckley tells us: “He has a lot of mystery in his past, and they did not waste any time introducing that. Episode seven has been my personal favorite so far…I was so completely enthralled and affected by it.” And while we’re not sure what it is, Rob says that people will be filtering in and out of the show to piece together his past life.

Shannon in Encinitas, Calif.: All right, I have to ask. The whole porn thing in last week’s 90210 was too weird. Are they going to elaborate on that?
We’d almost forgotten about Navid’s family business too, but Michael Steger tells us that 90210 is about to delve into the adult film biz: “We’re going to see my parents again. They’re going to talk more about the porn industry, and a lot of dirty details from my Dad’s past are going to surface.” With Navid’s journalistic chops, we’re curious to see if he’s the one who uncovers the dirty deets.

Janet in Palmdale, Calif.: I loved the season premiere of Californication. Any spoilers?
In episode two, “The Land of Rape and Honey,” Hank starts his teaching gig at the university and Chuck Bass takes Professor Moody’s criticism too hard—OK, it’s just Ed Westwick guest starring. In the meantime, someone gets raped, and Becca lashes out, leading to more father-daughter drama than we’ve ever seen on the show.

Lots of stuff here!

1. The Body Politic starred Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210).  Life UneXpected stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek).  I remember someone saying they hoped they’d bring Body Politic back but I can’t remember if it was here or elsewhere.  I’m curious to see Life UneXpected, though. (Not that I can even find the time to watch another show!)

2. A dark place for Jenny?  As I said when this Zegers news was announced, we’ve been there and done that.

3. While Joanna Garcia only has 1 more episode (I believe), the door is open for her to return.  I don’t see how this was the “Romeo and Juliet” love story, though, that Garcia and Chace Crawford claimed it would be. Yes, feuding families but is anyone really digging them as a couple?!  At this point, I think it’s better that she has another connection to the group and if that’s through Carter, so be it.

4. Why would we feel Bluck deprived?  Last week had plenty of Chair in it!  And sadly, I didn’t like it then and I didn’t like it tonight.

5. The Alex thing we could’ve guessed last week.  As far as Brooke goes, I have a feeling she won’t be able to have kids or something like that.

6. Robert Buckley gave the same vague quote he’s been giving to all the media.  But I don’t know how E! doesn’t know the spoilers that we do.  This is their JOB!

7. As strange as this might sound, I’m glad we’ll be seeing more of the porn stuff on 90210. I would hate for it be that go-to device every 20 or so episodes just for comedy. Let’s see a real storyline.

8. We already knew about Ed Westwick and Californication.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Question: Rumor has it that Ausiello has been slacking on his Gossip Girl scoop. —Tina
Ausiello:
Rumor has it you smell, but you don’t see me spreading that around, do you? Here’s your damn GG scoop: Tyra Banks’ guest turn as a tempestuous film actress in Monday’s episode is highlarious. Even better, she wasn’t trying to be funny, so you’ll be laughing at her and not with her! Awesome, right? Well, the news just keeps getting better ’cause I gots me a clip!

Question: I’d give my left hand and my first two children (named Aus and Hole, of course) if you would give us a juicy Gossip Girl scoop. The Dan-Georgina hookup ruined Brooklyn for me forever! —Erin
Ausiello:
Well, there’s no D&G in Monday’s episode. There is a fair amount of D&D (Dan and Duff, as in Hilary), and, I have to say, I don’t hate them together. I’m also kind of loving Chuck and Blair as an official couple. Kudos to Team Schwavage for doing what few TV writers have ever been able to — making an entertaining couple even more entertaining together than apart.

Question: Anything on One Tree Hill? —Anita
Ausiello:
Casting scoop! Former NFL star and Hall of Famer John Riggins has been cast in the potentially recurring role of Clay’s boss, Ken Arthur. The sometime-actor (Law & Order: CI, Guiding Light) shows up in episode 10.

Really like the term “Schwavage” but I totally disagree with the rest of the sentence!

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

When is Kelly coming back? 90210 is no fun without her! — Carolyn
MICKEY:
You must be over 30, Carolyn, because I feel the same way about the show. Kelly will be back, but I’m afraid the circumstances will be sad when Kelly and Silver’s high-maintenance mom hits the skids again. Jackie has a new tormentor, and it’s not one that can be cured by rehab.

On Gossip Girl, Chuck and Blair’s “games” are definitely going to end badly, aren’t they? — Lydia
MICKEY:
It depends on how you define badly. Will they enter a murder-suicide pact? Probably not. Will they break up? Oh, sure, probably several hundreds of times this season alone. “It just gets crazy. They’re like on and off, [but] it’s hot,” teases Leighton Meester. Hot is good, right?
****

Don’t know why they didn’t say Kelly already came back–in the episode that aired last night. This was published while the episode was airing, so they could have and should have told the reader she was back now instead of making it seem like it would be in the future.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Does Gossip Girl plan to give Chuck and Blair a fair shot as a couple this season? And what about Nate and Serena? Can we expect a build-up for them? — Fernanda
MICKEY:
As Monday’s premiere demonstrated, C. & B.’s love is a many-splendored (read: twisted) thing. Its success or failure won’t follow any logical path. No Serena for Nate, as he’ll be otherwise occupied with guest star JoAnna Garcia, who plays Texan heiress Bree Buckley. “I invested in a lot of lip balm and a spray tan, and just prepared myself to make out all summer,” Garcia says of filming her four-episode stint. She compares their affair to that of Romeo and Juliet. “It’s very poetic and lovely,” she says. Oh, happy dagger!

Get Ready for Gossip Girl Season 3!

13 09 2009

We’re days away from Gossip Girl’s season 3 premiere!

Here’s what you need to know about last season:

After a summer apart, Serena and Dan rekindle their romance but it doesn’t last and Serena begins dating Aaron.  Throughout the relationship, the bond she shares with Dan remains strong and she ends things with Aaron.  Dan and Serena *again* get back together and *again* split up, allowing Dan to have a fling with one of the teachers at Constance and Serena to briefly date the scheming Gabriel.  Dan and Serena attend prom together just as friends.

Serena’s friendship with Blair is off-and-on as well, with Blair jealous as Serena becomes an Upper East Side socialite and gets in to Yale.  The season ends with them reaffirming their bond as best friends (or is it frenemies?).

Serena and her mother Lily have a similar trajectory: their relationship is drama-free periodically but when it’s bad, it’s really bad with Lily purposefully having Serena arrested and Lily slowly owning up to her own wild past.

Lily’s past comes back to haunt her in more ways than one.  Despite being married to Bart Bass, she can’t hide her feelings with Rufus.  Bart unexpectedly dies, clearing the way for a Lily-Rufus reunion.  The joy is shortlived, however, when Rufus finds out they had a child years ago who Lily gave up for adoption.  Rufus, feeling betrayed, refuses to be with her and instead tries to track the boy down.  With Lily’s help, they find his family but are saddened to find out he died years earlier.  Lily and Rufus slowly find their way back together, with Rufus ready to propose.  The plans come to a halt, however, when Rufus finds out Lily was secretly funneling money into his account to help with Dan’s tuition.  Again feeling betrayed, Rufus ends things.  In the season finale, however, they both put their pride aside and get engaged.

Rufus spends a lot of the season struggling with daughter Jenny, who rebels against not only her family but also Constance and her friends.  She moves out of the Humphrey loft, has a fling with Nate, makes a questionable friend in Agnes (The O.C.’s Willa Ford) and faces off against Blair’s minions.  Blair hands down her Queen B title to Jenny, putting her in a position of power she never had before.

Chuck is surprisingly devastated when Bart dies, feeling abandoned by everyone.  His downward spiral includes plenty of girls, drugs and tears.  He inherits his father’s fortune which he briefly has to wrestle away from his uncle Jack.  He later finds both a mother figure and a business partner in Lily.

Blair comes back from her summer in Europe with a new boyfriend–Lord Marcus–but still nursing her broken heart from Chuck’s abandonment.  The two dance around their feelings all season, with Blair willing to say those three little words but Chuck refusing to.  In fact, Chuck insists his flirtation is just a game, devastating Blair.  But she doesn’t mope for too long, briefly getting back together with Nate.  She soon realizes that Nate is her “high school” boyfriend and she needs to move on.  Around this time, Chuck realizes he needs to admit his feelings or he’ll lose her forever–and he does.  The two finally exchange those three little words.

Nate starts off the season dating a married woman (who happens to be Lord Marcus’ step-mother and sometimes lover!) but the fling soon ends and Nate is left to tackle family problems.  He finds himself homeless after the government seizes his family’s assets since his father remains on the run from the first season.  When his father returns, Nate refuses to run away with him and instead convinces him to turn himself in to the FBI.  During the trying time, Vanessa’s there to help and the two end up getting back together.  The differences in their lifestyle become glaringly obvious when Nate’s grandfather exerts his influence over him, and things end between them, allowing him to briefly get back together with Blair (as mentioned above).  Nate and Vanessa salvage their friendship, agreeing to backpack across Europe together–but not before briefly meeting someone who happens to be Rufus and Lily’s long-lost son.

Everyone’s thrown for a loop when Georgina returns to the fold as a Born Again Christian.  She seeks forgiveness for her past transgressions but soon the evilness that lies within her is brought to the surface again.  She enrolls in NYU, where Blair and Dan will be going in the fall, and requests to be Blair’s roommate.

Serena, instead of preparing to go to Brown, takes off with Carter on a search for her father.

Does Serena find him?  Will Georgina and Blair end up as roommates?  Will Chuck and Blair last? And will Rufus and Lily find out their son is alive?

Come back tomorrow at 9pm eastern for my live-blog of the season 3 premiere!
