RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Attention Upper East Siders: Hide your men and your liquor, because Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) herself tells us that she’s coming back to Gossip Girl—this season—and just scandalous as evah!

Michelle breaks the news in the video down below, and even gives us a hint as to what sort of meddling she’ll be doing this time. (Could it involve Chuck Bass’ father?! Oh, how that girl teases. Love.)

Frances: Anything on Chuck Bass’ mother on Gossip Girl? Please!
Well, Michelle teases that her return to Gossip Girl may have something to do with Chuck’s upcoming family drama in the video below, but I’m pretty certain she’s kidding. See for yourself in the video, including her pitch to have a Dawn Summers-Dawson Leery romance on Mercy with James Van Der Beek. Um, yes please.

Chris: Is there any hope for Dan and Serena on Gossip Girl? Any at all?
When asked about hope for Dan and Serena on Gossip Girl, my source tells me “not at the moment.” But I suppose then you’re rooting for Jenny to steal Nate away?

Jamie in Austin, Texas: You’ve been holding out on the Leverage scoop, lady!
Let go of all of your doubts about Jeri Ryan stepping in as Leverage‘s designated grifter babe while Gina Bellman is on maternity leave. Jeri’s non-nonsense character Tara doesn’t really understand Nathan’s (Timothy Hutton) free-wheeling way of doing business, but she’s willing to learn and they turn out to be a great professional pairing. Leverage returns for a winter mini-season beginning this Wednesday at 10 p.m.

I’ve already posted about Van Der Beek’s role on Mercy. Dawn Summers was Trachtenberg’s role on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Jeri Ryan played Charlotte on The O.C. You can read more about her role on Leverage here.

Weekly Poll

6 01 2010

In the last Weekly Poll, the majority of voters thought it was a happy medium for Haley to go on tour with Nathan and Jamie with her for part of the time. Many of you thought she deserved to go on tour regardless, while just two people said she should keep her family as the priority. Forty-seven percent said Blair and Chuck have had highs and lows this season but 31 percent say the luster is gone and 22 percent say their power is still just as strong. Only 3 votes separated the ays from the maybes on whether Kelly should be in more episodes. Just 10 percent, or 5 votes, were against it.

News Roundup: 90210, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and The O.C.

31 12 2009
  • Noticed that the finalized artwork for the Beverly Hills Season 9 DVD is significantly different from the preliminary art, and both are significantly different from the original photo. First the original photo was altered to photoshop in Luke Perry (Dylan). Then they decided to also add in Vanessa Marcil (Gina) and cut out Vincent Young (Noah). This makes the second season in a row with Young missing from the cover art, even though he was a regular the entire season, unlike Perry, Marcil and even Jason Priestley (Brandon) and Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Valerie). Missing in all three photos, however, is Daniel Cosgrove (Matt) who was also a regular that season, albeit not from the beginning (though he is in one of the faded background images). Expect me to still be griping about this when the set is released on February 2nd.
  • ABC News has an interview with Candy Spelling (wife of Aaron, mother of Tori; Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Digital Spy has an interview with Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210). Some of it is outdated for us, since the show is just premiering in the country where the site is based. Most interesting is that he says he’s pretty sure there’s going to be a season 3–and then is bold enough to say the show could last “four or five years.”
  • They also have an interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210), which also covers things we’ve already seen but also has spoilers.
  • MTV made New Year’s resolutions for Ryan (Ryan Eggold, 90210), Dan (Paul Johansson, One Tree Hill) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen, Gossip Girl). Zap2it and The Wrap have good resolutions for The CW.
  • Star News has a brief article on Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) and the amazing work he’s been doing on One Life to Live. It’s truly remarkable.
  • Blair (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) is still in the running in the Girl on Top tournament.
  • You can vote for Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) and Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) as the stars you would kiss on New Year’s Eve.
  • The new season of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, starring Shailene Woodley (Kaitlin, The O.C.), premieres Monday on ABC Family.

Favorite Holiday Episodes, Pt. 5

25 12 2009

MONDAY: Beverly Hills 90210

TUESDAY: Dawson’s Creek

WEDNESDAY: The O.C.

THURSDAY: One Tree Hill

TODAY: Gossip Girl and 90210

GOSSIP GIRL

1. Episode 1.11, Roman Holiday

In Gossip Girl’s three seasons, this is the only Christmas episode we’ve been treated to and, thankfully, I look back on it pretty fondly. At the time I was a Serena-Dan shipper (and still am, for the most part) and they had a really sweet storyline this episode, which culminated in them sharing one incredible X-mas gift: their bodies! The episode also significantly advances the Rufus-Lily storyline that had been slowly building: we have Rufus realize his marriage with Allison can’t be saved and admit Lily’s been what’s missing from his life. Unfortunately, around the same time, Bart proposes to Lily. The third main storyline–Blair’s hope for the perfect Christmas is comically toyed with when her father comes to town along with his lover–I could take or leave.

90210

1. Episode 2.12, Winter Wonderland

Okay, so this technically isn’t a holiday episode but I’m including it anyway. After all, isn’t “winter wonderland” just the PC-way of saying Christmastime? And, besides, this was a pretty amazing episode–and I never even come close to saying that about this show. But this ep had what I love most: unrequited love, love triangles and several drawn-out storylines coming to a climax, rewarding viewers for their patience. We have Teddy pining for Silver, Dixon’s feelings for Silver reawakened, Liam & Naomi reunited by a selfless Ivy, Naomi’s well-warranted apologies to Annie and a jaw-dropping confrontation between Annie and Jasper. No doubt about it: this was my gift this holiday season.

What’s your favorite holiday episode?

Weekly Poll

23 12 2009

In the last Weekly Poll, every single question was a tight race. Just one vote separated “Brulian forever” from “I need to see more of Alexander first.” There was a slightly wider margin regarding Dan and Vanessa, where 24 of you said the thought makes you want to throw up and 19 said admitted curiosity (5 were giddy). And in the last one, Dixon narrowly beat out Teddy by, again, just one vote!

Kevin Williamson created Dawson’s Creek.

Weekly Poll

17 12 2009

In last week’s Weekly Poll, a huge majority–nearly 70 percent–thought it was Chuck’s mother in the graveyard. While the votes were a little bit more spread out on the killing of Jasper’s uncle, most of you think Annie did it. The results were much closer on the question of Millie and Mouth’s relationship, where the winning answer (“Who cares? They are so boring!) came out on top by just 7 votes.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and Dawson’s Creek

7 12 2009
  • When compared to their respective previous episodes, last week’s One Tree Hill (2.4 million viewers rounded up) dropped a decent amount in the ratings while Gossip Girl (2.2 million viewers) stayed the same. 90210 (2.1 million viewers) also had the same ratings.
  • As The CW brags about its ratings, The Hollywood Reporter points out its failure.
  • The Yale Daily News has a surprisingly accurate take (IMO, anyway) on the state of the teen drama genre.
  • OK! Magazine has an interview with Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill). Coincidentally, the writer and I were once sent to cover the same event.
  • Star News Online has quite possibly the best feature story I’ve ever read on Paul Johansson (Dan, One Tree Hill; John, Beverly Hills 90210).
  • Candy Spelling has confirmed that she and daughter Tori Spelling (Donna, Beverly Hills 90210) have reconciled.
  • Gossip Cop says rumors that Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210) is using co-star Rumer Willis (Gia, 90210) to get to stepdad Ashton Kutcher are false.
  • Power of Youth, which just honored Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) with one of their awards, is auctioning off a lunch date with him. The Miami Herald has a short interview with him.
  • This Ain’t Beverly Hills 90210 XXX is a porn spoof of the show. The trailer is actually pretty funny. (No nudity shown.)
  • TVGuide.com and TheDailyNewsOnline.com both have interviews with James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek).

Most Shocking Deaths, Pt. 4

26 11 2009

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3

4. Toni is shot when she is mistaken for Dylan (Beverly Hills 90210, Episode 6.10: One Wedding and a Funeral)

3. Keith is shot by his brother Dan (One Tree Hill, Episode 3.16: With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept)

The countdown ends tomorrow with the shocking loss of two main characters.
