25 02 2010
  • Variety confirmed Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) will indeed star in the film Oranges.
  • Spoiler alert! One Tree Hill will do some filming in Utah soon and co-producer Kelly Tenney has a post on the SoGoPro blog about scouting locations for it.
  • Dina Meyer (Lucinda, Beverly Hills 90210) will be on NCIS this spring.
  • OK! Magazine has an interview with Shenae Grimes (Annie, 90210) about her passion for fashion.
  • Gillian Zinser (Ivy, 90210) is now a regular on 90210. I wonder if Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210) already is and I missed it? He came in first in my poll on this topic and Zinser ranked second.
  • Michael Steger (Navid, The O.C.) appeared on the WPIX Morning News earlier this week. The video has a few spoilers. The accompanying article says his character is “often compared to David Silver from the original series.” Um, thoughts?
  • WPIX also had Tate Donovan (Jimmy, The O.C.) on their show this week.
  • Adam Brody (Seth, The O.C.) is in the new movie Cop Out, which will be in theaters tomorrow.
  • Tomorrow at 2pm, SoapNet will start airing The O.C. from the beginning again. It will also start over Saturday at 8am and Monday at 1pm.
  • Formosa Betrayed, starring James Van Der Beek (Dawson, Dawson’s Creek) will have a limited release tomorrow. The New York Times has an interview with him and Filmcritic.com has a review of the film.

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and More

26 12 2009
  • Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210) and Michael Steger (Navid, 90210) are included in a L.A. Times photogallery of celebrity Christmas wishes.
  • According to the new issue of Soap Opera Weekly, Vanessa Marcil (Gina, Beverly Hills 90210) is once again “in talks” with General Hospital. I haven’t read the article. (You’ll notice Zack Conroy is also on the cover. He appeared on one episode of Gossip Girl as Ben, the guy Blair meets at the airplane when Chuck stands her up in the season 1 finale).
  • Star News has an article on One Tree Hill’s success this year, noting how the 7th season means it surpassed Dawson’s Creek as Wilmington’s longest running show. It also made OTH the second longest running teen drama.
  • Jana Kramer (Alex, One Tree Hill) tweeted that she’s engaged. Her fiance, Johnathon Schaech tweeted it as well. Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) posted well wishes to them on Facebook.
  • The Best Chrismukkah Ever from The O.C. ranked 16 on EW.com’s list of Classic Holiday TV Episodes.

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and More

7 10 2009
  • 90210 (2.1 million viewers rounded up) dropped in the ratings last night compared to last week but The CW sent out a press release touting how well it did in the key demographics.
  • Michael Steger stars in the indie flick “Assisting Venus” but it doesn’t have a release date or even a distributor.
  • As I assumed, a tabloid cover story on Tori Spelling is false.  Additionally, she’s also doing better health-wise and is back at work.
  • The New York Times has a very short piece on the Gossip Girl tour in New York City.
  • According to OneTreeHillBlog.com, Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill) will be on The Late Late Show tomorrow night.
  • Examiner.com has an interview with Cullen Moss (Junk, One Tree Hill), who is currently starring in a play directed by Linda Lavin (Sophie/the Nana, The O.C.).

  • Had no idea Robin Dunne (A.J., Dawson’s Creek) stars in a Canadian sci-fi series.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and The O.C.

6 10 2009
  • Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
  • Both One Tree Hill (2.1 million viewers) and Gossip Girl (also 2.1 when rounded up) dropped significantly in the ratings compared to last week.
  • The CW Source has a podcast about last night’s One Tree Hill, as well as one for last week’s ep and last week’s Gossip Girl.
  • There’s another Mark Schwahn preview for next week’s One Tree Hill.
  • There’s a new One Tree Hill Connection podcast, this one featuring an interview with Lindsay Wolfington, the show’s music supervisor.

  • Ausiello is reporting that there will be a very, um, scandalous sex scene in the Nov. 9 episode of Gossip Girl. Purely for shock value, I’m sure, seeing as that’s how Josh Schwartz rolls these days.
  • Lady Gaga is reportedly appearing as herself on an upcoming Gossip Girl episode. See, it’s all about the buzz.  To be honest, though, I haven’t seen this confirmed elsewhere yet.
  • Korbi has a cool behind-the-scenes video of Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210) and Ryan Eggold (Ryan, 90210) filming tonight’s episode.
  • The Los Angeles Times has an entertaining interview with Trevor Donovan (Teddy, 90210).
  • The New York Post has an interview with Michael Steger (Navid, 90210).
  • TVGuide.com has quotes from most of the 90210 cast about upcoming episodes and storylines.  Quite a few spoilers in there, though some are slightly outdated and others are new.  A few of you won’t be happy!
  • I caught a glimpse of Melrose Place and I think I saw Nicholas Gonzalez (DJ, The O.C.). Can anyone confirm?

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Marriam in Mississauga, Ontario: I was just wondering if there’s hope after all for Body Politic now that The Beautiful Life has been canceled? Body Politic should have been picked up to begin with, it was the smartest prospect for the CW since Veronica Mars.
Sorry, the death of TBL doesn’t mean that Body Politic will be resurrected. Honestly, it’s dead and buried, and you gots to let it go. Sorry, dear. That said, if you love good TV, hold out for the CW’s Life UneXpected, which is coming up soon and is wonderful!

Rene in Washington, D.C.: What’s up with this new guy coming to Gossip Girl?
Damien (Kevin Zegers) is bad news. If you like raccoon-eyed Little J, you’re in luck, because sources tell us Damien’s going to bring Jenny “to a dark place.” Break out the mascara and eyeliner, Jenny.

Mel in Boise, Idaho: I really like Bree and Nate together on Gossip Girl. Please tell me that Joanna Garcia is sticking around for a while?!
Sorry, Bree’s not exactly a paragon of sweetness and light. Her intentions are not as pure as we’ve been led to believe. The redheaded Gossip girl mostly just wants revenge on Carter, and she wants it bad. Better luck next time, Nate.

Sydne in Canada: Loved the Gossip Girl clips for tonight. Can you tell us anything else about the episode?
Feeling a bit Bluck-deprived? We promise you’ll get your “Chair” fix tonight. Just as Jenny thought a new beginning was in store, the reigning queen bee has yet another showdown with predecessor Blair. B just can’t let go of the past, and when Little J begins the school year with a no-more-hierarchy rule, her little lackeys reach out to the reluctant NYU undergrad for an intervention. Of course, it takes the always incredible Chuck Bass to pull B back to reality.

Juliet in Arkansas City, Kans.: Have you got any spoilers on Brooke and Julian from One Tree Hill?
Yes, but it’s not necessarily what you One Tree Hill fans will want to hear: Alex comes between them, and Brooke receives some devastating news.

Kimmy in Seattle: I’ve read that Clay has some big secrets on One Tree Hill. Any idea what they are?
Not entirely, but it sounds like Nathan’s basketball career isn’t the only thing that brought the sports agent to Tree Hill. Superstud Robert Buckley tells us: “He has a lot of mystery in his past, and they did not waste any time introducing that. Episode seven has been my personal favorite so far…I was so completely enthralled and affected by it.” And while we’re not sure what it is, Rob says that people will be filtering in and out of the show to piece together his past life.

Shannon in Encinitas, Calif.: All right, I have to ask. The whole porn thing in last week’s 90210 was too weird. Are they going to elaborate on that?
We’d almost forgotten about Navid’s family business too, but Michael Steger tells us that 90210 is about to delve into the adult film biz: “We’re going to see my parents again. They’re going to talk more about the porn industry, and a lot of dirty details from my Dad’s past are going to surface.” With Navid’s journalistic chops, we’re curious to see if he’s the one who uncovers the dirty deets.

Janet in Palmdale, Calif.: I loved the season premiere of Californication. Any spoilers?
In episode two, “The Land of Rape and Honey,” Hank starts his teaching gig at the university and Chuck Bass takes Professor Moody’s criticism too hard—OK, it’s just Ed Westwick guest starring. In the meantime, someone gets raped, and Becca lashes out, leading to more father-daughter drama than we’ve ever seen on the show.

Lots of stuff here!

1. The Body Politic starred Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210).  Life UneXpected stars Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson’s Creek).  I remember someone saying they hoped they’d bring Body Politic back but I can’t remember if it was here or elsewhere.  I’m curious to see Life UneXpected, though. (Not that I can even find the time to watch another show!)

2. A dark place for Jenny?  As I said when this Zegers news was announced, we’ve been there and done that.

3. While Joanna Garcia only has 1 more episode (I believe), the door is open for her to return.  I don’t see how this was the “Romeo and Juliet” love story, though, that Garcia and Chace Crawford claimed it would be. Yes, feuding families but is anyone really digging them as a couple?!  At this point, I think it’s better that she has another connection to the group and if that’s through Carter, so be it.

4. Why would we feel Bluck deprived?  Last week had plenty of Chair in it!  And sadly, I didn’t like it then and I didn’t like it tonight.

5. The Alex thing we could’ve guessed last week.  As far as Brooke goes, I have a feeling she won’t be able to have kids or something like that.

6. Robert Buckley gave the same vague quote he’s been giving to all the media.  But I don’t know how E! doesn’t know the spoilers that we do.  This is their JOB!

7. As strange as this might sound, I’m glad we’ll be seeing more of the porn stuff on 90210. I would hate for it be that go-to device every 20 or so episodes just for comedy. Let’s see a real storyline.

8. We already knew about Ed Westwick and Californication.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl and Dawson’s Creek

5 10 2009
  • This by far the BEST One Tree Hill article I have seen in quite a while.  It’s about time someone addressed the obvious: the show outperforms many others on The CW but rarely gets any love.  Here’s hoping this changes that from now on!
  • And this is a step in the right direction!  The Futon Critic has an interview with Mark Schwahn.  He said some interesting things about Leyton, Dan and (unfortunately) Alex.
  • Starpulse has an interview with Robert Buckley (Clay, One Tree Hill).
  • India de Beaufort (Miranda, One Tree Hill) confirmed that her Twitter account is real.  For more accounts, see my Twitter Directory.
  • Grant Show (Jake, Beverly Hills 90210) is also now on Twitter.
  • Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210) and Michael Steger (Navid, 90210) spoke with E!Online about Samantha Ronson’s upcoming cameo.
  • Korbi has a video interview with Steger and another video interview with Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna, 90210).
  • Rumors of Jessica Lowdnes (Adrianna, 90210) and Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) dating are false.
  • BuzzGloss has an interview with Lori Loughlin (Debbie, 90210) but 90210 isn’t mentioned.
  • ChicagoNow has an interview with Penn Badgley (Dan, Gossip Girl).
  • I had no idea Tom Kapinos (executive producer, Dawson’s Creek) created Californication!  You learn something new every day…

  • TeenTelevision.com has an interview with Joshua Jackson (Pacey, Dawson’s Creek).
  • Cam Gigandet (Volchok, The O.C.) will star in the film Burlesque.

RELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Suzi from NYC: What do you think it’s like to hang out on the 90210 set?
Michael Steger
told us what keeps him busy between takes, and we’re jealous! “I have a Lamborghini this season,” Michael said at the show’s premiere. “I don’t even go to my trailer anymore. Now Dixon (Tristan Wilds) and I go out to the car, and we play with the convertible top and drive around the parking lot. Our set now is around the beach, so we have beachfront. My next wish? Well, they gave us a yacht for episode three and that was pretty impressive.” Tough life, huh?

Stephanie in Atlanta: I take it from the season premiere that the man Annie killed is someone we don’t already know on 90210?
Yes, it seems that Annie’s victim is unknown to us, but we learn in tomorrow night’s episode that incoming hottie Teddy Montgomery (Trevor Donovan) found the body after Annie ran the guy over. (BTW, does it seem plausible to anyone else that dead guy was already dead when Annie ran him over, therefore technically absolving her from responsibility?) In other news, Naomi’s sister Jen is evil, and she’s entangling poor Ryan in her scheme to snag a billionaire.
