- E! Online has a short spoilish blurb on the Gossip Girl threesome.
- PEOPLE.com has a poll asking if Gossip Girl is “going too far.”
- MTV interviewed Lady Gaga about her upcoming Gossip Girl appearance.
- Rolling Stone interviewed GG executive producer Stephanie Savage about Gaga’s appearance.
- TV Overmind has an article criticizing Gossip Girl, much like yesterday’s piece from the Daily News. Again, I’m not GG’s biggest fan–far from it–but I don’t think the picture they painted is entirely accurate. Buddy TV has a piece, too, but it really just regurgitates the Daily News one.
- Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl) on the cover of the December issue of Glamour UK.
- TV Guide Magazine calls next week’s One Tree Hill a “standout episode.”
- One Tree Hill director Mike Leone recorded a message for fans.
- Apparently Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) is one of the most nominated people in several categories of the Open Web Awards put on by the social media site Mashable. Burton is being nominated for her work with SoGoPro.
- Jennie Garth (Kelly, Beverly Hills 90210) wrote a piece for CNN on heart disease. As you may or may not know, it’s an issue both she and members of her family have personally dealt with.
- Here are all the articles I could find on last night’s Dawson’s Creek panel at the Paley Center: Zap2it, Zap2it again, New York Post, Home Media Magazine, AfterElton. I’m a little disappointed as I expected there to be more. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and More
3 11 2009- Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
- Last night’s One Tree Hill (2.3 million viewers) and Gossip Girl (2.0 million viewers rounded up) each had a decent drop in the ratings compared to last week. Gossip Girl technically didn’t even cross 2 million (again, I rounded up), tying for a season-low.
- I will be interviewing Lee Norris (Mouth, One Tree Hill) later this week. Since I’ve already interviewed him, I figured this time I would use reader questions. Please comment with your question by Thursday Friday morning. I cannot promise it will be asked but I’ll do my best!
- The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast features an interview with OTH writer Terrence Coli.
- I love this video interview with Sophia Bush (Brooke, One Tree Hill), where she adamantly states she isn’t on Twitter. As you’ve seen in my Twitter Directory, there are tons of fake Sophias out there. Frustrating!
- Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) recorded a message on SoGoPro.
- If you haven’t seen Brett Claywell (Tim, One Tree Hill) on One Life to Live, Perez Hilton actually posted a clip.
- In a Gossip Girl recap by the L.A. Times, both Andrea (Gabrielle Carteris, Beverly Hills 90210) and Joey (Katie Holmes, Dawson’s Creek) are compared to Vanessa (Jessica Szhor, Gossip Girl).
- If you missed the short clip of the video for “Somebody to Love” by Leighton Meester (Blair, Gossip Girl), which aired during GG last night, E! Online posted it.
- The Parents Television Council has sent a letter urging CW affiliates not to air next week’s episode, which will feature the reported threesome. Seems a little preemptive (no pun intended) to me. I can’t imagine the episode being vulgar enough to warrant this. I imagine, like the gay kiss, it will be such a nothing thing and is really more about getting publicity and media attention (in which case, it worked). But I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
- You can get 10% off the cost of tickets for the Gossip Girl tour in New York City when you use the promo code TEENDRAMA.
- TV Guide Magazine has a spoiler-filled interview with Jessica Stroup (Silver, 90210) about what happens with the Jackie (Ann Gillespie) storyline. We all know how I feel about this so I figured I’d spare you guys the rant.
- Ausiello has a lot more spoiler-filled details on the Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes, 90210) / Gia (Rumer Willis, 90210) storyline.
- Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) and Nikki Reed (Sadie, The O.C.) are also featured in the Nov. issue of Nylon.
- The O.C. made BlackBook’s list of Top 10 Single-Letter & Acronymical TV Shows.
- Adam Brody (Seth, The O.C.) will star alongside Holmes in The Romantics. Holmes will also produce.
- The A.V. Club has a great interview with Chris Pratt (Che, The O.C.)

YouTube Video of the Week
1 11 2009This video just had me at a loss for words as it is just so random.
Rather than trying to describe it, I’ll just take the description that’s given:
“A unique Michael Jackson Tribute, Beverly Hills 90210 style. Michael Jackson’s life had it’s share of drama, not unlike the lives of Brandon Walsh, Brenda Walsh, Kelly Taylor, Dylan McCay, Steve Sanders, Donna Martin, David Silver, and Andrea Zuckerman. Michael Jackson will live on in our hearts as the greatest entertainer of all time, and he will truly be missed, especially by the cast and crew of Beverly Hills 90210. Rest in Peace 1958-2009.”

News Roundup: 90210, Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill
1 11 2009- A U.K. paper says Beverly Hills 90210 is one of the “most shameless cultural franchises.” The article also claims that 5 original stars have appeared on 90210 2.0 but I can only think of 4!
- These are the first pictures I’ve seen of Greg Vaughan (Cliff, Beverly Hills 90210) filming 90210. Not sure what his new character’s name is or how I’ll refer to him on here.
- Kelly Lynch has been cast as mom to Ivy (Gillian Zinser, 90210). TVGuide.com has a few more details on the role.
- Michael Cudlitz (Tony, Beverly Hills 90210) was named “hot in Hollywood” in the current issue of USA Weekend.
- Joanna Garcia (Bree, Gossip Girl) will appear on How I Met Your Mother.
- Registration for the One Tree Hill Reunion trip to Wilmington will close at the end of this month, Nov. 30.
- Hilarie Burton (Peyton, One Tree Hill) has a new blog post on the SoGoPro site.

Random Thought
30 10 2009I was watching The O.C. recently when this thought struck me: three of our teen dramas have introduced a night club as a way of gathering the characters and featuring musical guests.
Beverly Hills 90210 started the trend (as they did with almost every teen drama characteristic) in 1994 with the After Dark.
One Tree Hill followed suit with TRIC in 2004.
The O.C. debuted The Bait Shop a few weeks later.
Dawson’s Creek was an exception, and we’ve yet to see if Gossip Girl and 90210 will do something similarly.
Another common feature: the evil character that, after a health crisis, vows to change his ways. On The O.C. it was Caleb and on One Tree Hill it’s Dan.
That’s enough randomness for now. Until next time…

News Roundup: 90210, The O.C., Gossip Girl and Dawson’s Creek
29 10 2009- This is an interesting article on the future of The CW and what it means for television.
- Ausiello has a pretty big spoiler about Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes, 90210) and Gia (Rumer Willis, 90210).
- MTV has an article on the above, which rightly points out a comparison to The O.C.
- Well, Greg Vaughan (Cliff, Beverly Hills 90210) tweeted more info and he WON’T be playing Cliff when he appears on 90210. Just another instance of this new show killing the original. Ugh.
- Soap Opera Source has a few details on the role Vaughan WILL play.
- Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina, Gossip Girl) spoke with MTV about playing her GG character versus her role on Mercy.
- A gossip columnist says Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) and Penn Badgley (Dan, Gossip Girl) will announce an engagement soon, and the estranged husband of Kelly Rutherford (Lily, Gossip Girl) is planning a tell-all book on her and the show.
- Leona Lewis says she chose not to kiss Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) in her music video.
- A few little Dawson’s Creek references in this Los Angeles Times interview with Kevin Williamson (creator, Dawson’s Creek).
- Television Without Pity has an article comparing Dawson’s Creek and The Vampire Diaries (which Williamson also created).

News Roundup: 90210, The O.C., Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill
28 10 2009- The Los Angeles Times has “five burning questions” on 90210. Spoilers already revealed the answers to numbers 3 and 4 but it’s still worth a read.
- Greg Vaughan (Cliff, Beverly Hills 90210) tweeted that he’s “making his return to the new 90210.” I guess that means he’ll be playing Cliff? Who knows, though, considering 90210 2.0’s inconsistency. Last month, Vaughan was fired from General Hospital.
- So apparently AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) and Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) are together!
- Charles Rosin (executive producer, Beverly Hills 90210) did a blog post about the progress of his current project, showbizzle, and linked back to the interview we did together.
- Brian Austin Green (David, Beverly Hills 90210) was also a victim of the same thieves responsible for robbing Rachel Bilson (Summer, The O.C.) and other celebrities.
- Candy Spelling (wife of Aaron and mother to Tori and Randy of Beverly Hills 90210 fame) will reportedly appear on a reality show being made by Ryan Seacrest.
- According to TVGuide.com, Gossip Girl is in danger of cancellation.
- In interviews with Entertainment Weekly, Kenny Ortega says he has confidence in Chace Crawford (Nate, Gossip Girl) appearing in the Footloose remake (even though he’s no longer directing it) and co-star Julianne Hough called him a “cutie.”
- The CW Source has podcasts for last week’s Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill.

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and The O.C.
27 10 2009- Be sure to check out The CW’s site for all the new video content this week.
- Last night’s One Tree Hill ( 2. 7 million viewers rounded up) and Gossip Girl ( 2.3 million viewers) both increased in the ratings compared to last week. One Tree Hill raised quite dramatically to a season high in both total viewers and the key demographics, according to a press release.
- The new One Tree Hill Connection podcast has an interview with Amanda Schull (Sara, One Tree Hill) and The Avett Brothers, who song “I and Love and You” was the title of last night’s episode.
- SoapNet has a short piece on James Lafferty (Nathan, One Tree Hill) directing last night’s episode, and some photos too.
- Here’s Mark Schwahn’s preview for next week’s OTH.
- Star News has an article about One Tree Hill’s presence on Twitter. Remember, you can follow me @sizzlemaker.
- SoapNet has a poll asking which OTH couple is the strangest pairing.
- Sherri Saum will appear on Gossip Girl.
- This article by The Frisky really nails some of my points on the problems with Gossip Girl–and why The O.C. was so much better.
- Both Gossip Girl and 90210 made Zap2it’s list of the worst TV theme songs of current shows.
- Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) lost to AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi, 90210) in an Access Hollywood poll of who should be the next Bond Girl. They both lost, though, to Eliza Dushku.
- SoapNet also has a poll asking which girl was the best for Dylan (Luke Perry, Beverly Hills 90210). I think you know by now that my vote will always go to Kelly (Jennie Garth, Beverly Hills 90210), as they are my all-time favorite couple.
- They also have another poll asking which actor from The O.C. has been the most successful.
